US DoJ, you’re nothing … 1MDB PM Najib is the most powerful man on earth today

Malaysia Boleh! Malaysians should be extremely proud to have a fearless prime minister in Najib Razak who can take on the world anytime of the day he likes.

1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) Prime Minister Najib is more powerful than the US President Barack Obama and his Department of Justice (DoJ).

And, we in No News Is Bad News, is stating this as a matter of fact.

There is apparently no way for the US DoJ to even touch a strand of Riza Aziz’s hair outside the US. And for that matter, the DoJ cannot even touch anyone whom Najib so wishes to protect outside the US.

Riza is the step son of Najib and the DoJ had implicated him in its probe into 1MDB-linked alleged global multi-billion-dollar/ringgit money laundering network that has jolted the world financial industry.

The Pandan lawmaker says the prime minister's stepson should instead be arrested and investigated for his role in the 1MDB scandal.

DEWAN RAKYAT

KUALA LUMPUR: An opposition lawmaker has questioned the need for Prime Minister Najib Razak’s stepson Riza Aziz to be part of the Malaysian delegation currently on a week-long visit to China.

Rafizi Ramli (PKR- Pandan) pointed out that Riza travelled on the government jet and this was clearly shown from screenshots of RTM1’s coverage, showing the arrival of the Malaysian delegation at the VIP Terminal of Beijing Capital International Airport at 12.30pm yesterday.

“Why is Riza Aziz on that jet that is paid by taxpayers’ money. These jets are expensive.

“He should not be given special treatment. He should be arrested and probed,” he said while debating Budget 2017 in the Dewan Rakyat today.

The US Department of Justice had announced on July 20 that it had filed a civil lawsuit seeking to seize more than USD1 billion in assets that it claimed were embezzled from state fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad.

Although Najib was not named in the suit, Riza and Low Taek Jho – better known as Jho Low – were implicated.

The DoJ had accused Riza of using money from 1MDB to fund the movie Wolf of Wall Street.

The PKR vice-president asked if that could be one of the reasons for high wastage in the government’s operation.
He said according to a study carried out by National Oversight and Whistleblowers (NOW) which was based on the Auditor-General’s report, it showed that there was a lot of wastage in the government’s operation."

"Rosmah’s aide explains why Najib took family to China

Rizal Mansor says Chinese government invited Prime Minister's entire family for the official trip.

PETALING JAYA: The only reason the children of Prime Minister Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor went together to China, was because the Chinese government had invited the entire family for the official trip.

Rizal Mansor, the aide to Rosmah made this very clear in a Facebook post today, in which he said although the PM seldom brought his family along on official trips, the trip to China was an exception.

“The Chinese government invited the PM and his family for this official trip.

“Those familiar with Chinese culture would know that this is a standard custom of China’s top leaders who emphasise strong personal and family relationships with their close counterparts,” Rizal wrote, quoting an ancient Chinese proverb “飲水思源” – literally meaning ‘when you drink water, think of its source.”

Earlier today, opposition lawmaker Rafizi Ramli of PKR questioned the need for Riza Aziz to be part of the Malaysian delegation to China, saying Najib’s stepson should not be given special treatment but arrested and investigated.

The United States Department of Justice has accused Riza of using money from 1Malaysia Development Berhad to fund the movie Wolf of Wall Street.

Rizal however said that Malaysia-China ties went as far back as 1974 when Tun Abdul Razak, Najib’s father, established diplomatic relations with the Chinese government, making Malaysia the first country in Asean to do so, a historic event that the China government was “well aware of and remained grateful” for.

He said that Najib’s official trip to China would involve the signing of dozens of trade and investment agreements that would lead to “tens of billions of ringgit in investment, trade and benefits for Malaysia” and it was therefore normal for the PM to want his family to be with him during the week-long trip.

“So, why begrudge him on a simple matter of bringing his children with him for the trip?
