Ismail ‘Turtle Egg’ Sabri’s karma: A prodigal son with a penchant for drug abuse

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25, 2025: Karma strikes former backdoor prime minister Ismail “Turtle Egg” Sabri in the form of a prodigal son.

His son was arrested for alleged drug possession after police stopped his vehicle near the Damansara toll plaza late Saturday (Aug 23).

Police said the son, in his 20s, had two prior drug-related offences on record.

Ismail, who is currently being probed for graft, is trying to make a comeback to be prime minister.

Pada 23/08/2025 @ 0130 hrs,SL 675 (Kpl 151174 & Kons 225104) tugas MPV sektor BPJKK IPD Petaling Jaya telah tahan sebuah m/kar no pendaftaran QSS949 yang mengundur secara laju dan berbahaya serta dipandu suspek (B1) dalam keadaan mencurigakan di Lebuhraya Sprint KM 0.6 sebelum Tol Damansara,buat semakan terhadap kad pengenalan serta pemeriksaan badan,suspek telah menyerahkan barang kes seperti di *Para 7* dengan tangan kanannya.

SL 675 tangkap (B1) serta buat rampasan barang kes dan terangkan sebab-sebab tangkapan telah diberitahu seperti diperuntukan  dibawah   Seksyen 28 (A) KPJ.Tangkapan dibawa balik ke Pejabat BJSN IPD Petaling Jaya untuk tindakan selanjutnya.

Police Have Arrested Ismail Sabri’s Son for Alleged Drug Possession

The son of a former prime minister has been arrested for alleged drug possession after police stopped his vehicle near the Damansara toll plaza late yesterday.

Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar confirmed that the man, said to be in his 20s, was detained during a crime prevention operation carried out by Petaling Jaya district police along the Sprint Highway.

He said, as quoted by The Star, that officers found a small quantity of heroin and several items believed to be used for drug abuse during the inspection.

He was reportedly driving in reverse at high speed in a suspicious manner on the highway when police intervened. A search of the vehicle uncovered a small quantity of heroin and several items believed to be used for drug consumption.

He was taken to Petaling Jaya district police headquarters for further action.

The suspect is believed to have two prior drug-related offences on record.

Police confirm arrest without divulging details - August 24, 2025

A MAN, believed to be the son of a former Prime Minister, has been detained by police after a quantity of heroin and drug-related equipment were found in his car during an integrated crime prevention operation along the Sprint Highway.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar confirmed the arrest when contacted, saying, “Yes, I can confirm [the arrest],” but declined to provide further details.

The operation, conducted by officers and personnel from the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters (IPD) around the Damansara area, led to the search of the suspect’s vehicle.

According to sources, a small amount of heroin and several items believed to be used for drug consumption were found during the inspection.

It is believed that the man was arrested here on Saturday after being stopped by police near the Damansara toll plaza with what is believed to be heroin.
