Norway, a country with just over 5 million people, manages the world’s largest sovereign wealth fund — worth nearly $2 trillion. This translates to around $340,000 for every citizen, making it one of the richest countries per capita. The fund was built from oil revenues, but instead of spending it all, Norway invested globally in stocks, bonds, and green energy projects. It serves as a safety net for future generations, ensuring the country’s wealth continues long after oil production declines. Norway’s model is admired worldwide as an example of smart resource management. It shows how natural resources can be transformed into long-term prosperity when governments prioritize sustainability and financial discipline.
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6, 2025: Why is Malaysia still not a developed nation?
Why is Singapore, once a part of Malaysia, so far ahead of Malaysia in terms of socio-development and economic progress?
The answer is simple! Malaysian Governments (elected every five years) and its racist politicians and leaders spend too much time wasting on racial and religious bigotry.
They are not concerned with economic progress.
Drinking alcohol at dinners, mistakenly flying the national flag upside-down, eating hams (to the morons, ham means pork, they have not heard of chicken and turkey hams), wearing shot pants and skirts are more important than healing the country which is saddled with a more than RM1.5 trillion national debt, and if you include domestic debts, it is RM3 trillion!
Norway, a country with just over five million people, manages the world’s largest Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) at US$2 trillion) and growing with sound investments and management.
Where are Malaysia’s so-called SWFs, 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and Khazanah Nasional Berhad?
They can only smell Norway’s (and even Singapore’s) SWFs’ fart!
And the Government is more concerned with freeing its disgraced and shameless former prime minister Najib “1MDB” Razak who stole millions, if not billions, of Ringgit from the Government’s coffer belonging to the rakyat dan negara (people and country)!
Even Malaysia’s former health minister, Khairy “Oxfart” Jamaluddin has the same IQ for economic progress - consuming alcohol at dinners is more important than economic development matters.
Welcome to Malaysia’s strive back to the Stone Age to live in caves!
The recent dispute surrounding alcoholic beverages has unexpectedly evolved into a political debate in Sarawak, a region long known for its inclusivity and multiculturalism.
This started when Sarawak Deputy Premier Dr Sim Kui Hian reportedly drew a comparison between the Land of Hornbill and Peninsular Malaysia.
“Here (in Sarawak), we don’t face any restriction when it comes to drinking, unlike in Peninsular Malaysia. Here, we just drink when we want to - it’s no big deal. That’s just our way of life,” said the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) president.
No News Is Bad News reproduces below news reports that show Malaysia’s gravely misplaced importance on what constitutes socio-development progress:

PETALING JAYA: Deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says he will raise Umno’s objection to the serving of alcohol at the dinner held in conjunction with Tourism Malaysia’s Global Travel Meet (GTM) at the Cabinet meeting.
Zahid, who is also the Umno president, said official government events must take into account the sensitivities of Muslims, adding that the serving of alcohol at such events has never been part of official government programmes before and must be rejected.
“Of course, we must reject and disagree with (what happened). Malaysia is a Muslim country, even though we respect the practice of other religions and cultures. This was a government event.
“As Umno president, (I say that) we reject this 100%,” Sinar Harian reported him as saying.
Yesterday, tourism, arts and culture minister Tiong King Sing distanced the ministry from Masjid Tanah MP Mas Ermieyati Samsudin’s claim that alcohol was served at a government-hosted dinner, saying it was organised by industry players.
However, PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari argued that because the event appeared on Tourism Malaysia’s official website and was scheduled as part of the official programme, the government must still bear responsibility.
Former minister Khairy Jamaluddin also accused Tiong of misleading the public in an Instagram story, showing an excerpt of the invitation letter listing Tourism Malaysia as the organiser.
In a statement to FMT today, Tiong insisted that industry players had taken over the gala dinner, saying that while Tourism Malaysia was initially the organiser, private sector players saw an opportunity to secure substantial business deals.
“Recognising this opportunity, they voluntarily offered to take over and host the gala dinner themselves,” he said.
He said Tourism Malaysia’s director-general had sought his approval for the change, which he granted as it would also help reduc

'Liar, liar pants on fire': Khairy taunts tourism minister over booze at government event
The former health minister shares screenshots showing that a gala dinner where alcohol was freely served was organised by Tourism Malaysia.
October 5, 2025 5:08 PM
Khairy Jamaluddin has launched a scathing attack on Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Tiong King Sing, calling him out for denying that the government was involved in organising a gala dinner where alcohol was served to guests.
The former health minister shared screenshots of a notice showing that Tourism Malaysia, the agency under Tiong's ministry, was the organiser of the gala dinner, which has since attracted criticism from opposition politicians.
"Liar, liar pants on fire," wrote Khairy on his Instagram Story, alongside another post accompanied by Malay poetry mocking politicians who lie.
Tiong, who was previously embroiled in similar controversies linked to alcohol consumption, came under attack from Masjid Tanah MP Mas Ermieyati Samsudin following video clips showing alcoholic drinks being served at the gala dinner, causing Muslim guests to leave early.
Mas Ermieyati said she had no issue with Tiong's alcohol consumption, but added that serving beer at an official function goes against not only Muslim sensitivities but also the status of Islam in the constitution.
In response, Tiong claimed that the event, Global Travel Meet, was separate from the dinner.
He said that while Tourism Malaysia was responsible for organising Global Travel Meet, the dinner was "an initiative by industry players and the private sector".
"They were enthusiastic because, for the first time, we took the initiative to host such a global event.
"Out of that spirit, they decided to sponsor and entertain their international partners at the dinner," Tiong, GPS's Bintulu MP, said in a statement.
However, according to a notice of the event shared by Khairy, the gala dinner was organised by Tourism Malaysia.
In 2023, Tiong fought back against criticisms after he was seen drinking alcohol and dancing in public.
"What’s wrong with that? Don’t make a big deal out of it," he had said.
