DAP’s failure in getting UEC recognition will confirm it to be MCA 2.0
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 13, 2025: DAP’s political fate in the next general election (GE16) due in 2027 will depend on whether it can rid its image as MCA 2.0.
And that fate will depend on whether the DAP, now in the Government (same as when MCA was in the Barisan Nasional Government), can get the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) recognised after five decades or 50 years.
The Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) was introduced in Malaysia in 1975. The exam system was developed and administered by the United Chinese School Committees Association of Malaysia, commonly known as Dong Zong, for students in Chinese Independent High Schools.
This move came after the Malaysian government stopped providing standardised examinations in the Chinese language to these institutions in the early 1960s, as part of its push for a single national education system based on the national curriculum and the Bahasa Malaysia language.
Alternatively, if the DAP is unable to get it recognised within six months as said by DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook, the the DAP has no choice but leave Pakatan Harapan (PH) and go into GE16 solo.
Why?

PMX says he doesn’t care who you’re or which party you’re from. Isn’t this a slap in your face? What are you waiting for? Leave unity government now. Where’s your pride? Where’s your “water face”?
Does DAP have no dignity left? Taking Malaysians’ electoral support for granted is no more tenable nor realistic.
Even the Taliban-like PAS and the racist Perikatan Nasional (PN) led by the unpatriotic Muhyiddin “I Am Malay First” Yassin are beginning to look better than PH and the so-called Madani Unity Government (UG).
Like what happened in the 17th Sabah Election when Anwar angered the Chinese community in his speech and contributed to the demise of DAP in Sabah, he is doing the same to the DAP with the UEC.
Clearly, Anwar is “sabotaging” DAP or destroying DAP’s political integrity, just like what Umno did to the MCA.
So, DAP, either it finds it political courage to go all out and fight for the rights of Malaysians in education or be politically buried in GE16.
