KUALA LUMPUR, June 6, 2026: With governmental powers, the DAP leaders today have become arrogant and treat multi-racial Malaysians as fools or morons.
Take a look at DAP’s Teo Nie Ching. As the Johor DAP chairman, she discarded her colleague, Skudai assemblyman Marina Ibrahim.
Then, her ministry trampled on media freedom by blocking The Coverage Facebook and she is now bitching about it!
This type of leadership is now a feature of classic DAP hypocrisy.

Teo Nie Ching, the Deputy Communications Minister from DAP, has once again exposed the rotten core of this government’s approach to media freedom. In her latest Facebook post, she claims a long-standing “policy of non-interference” with MCMC’s independent operations, while “strongly urging” them to explain the sudden blocking of The Coverage Media’s Facebook page.
How convenient. When you lie, you have to tell another lie to cover the first one, then another, and another. This is textbook DAP behaviour in 2026 — pretend to champion transparency while your ministry’s heavy hand silences critics.
Let’s cut through the nonsense. The Coverage Media’s Facebook page was restricted for Malaysian users starting June 3, 2026 — the first time in over a decade. No prior warning. No immediate public explanation. Just a quiet digital execution. Only after public outrage intensified did MCMC announce an “investigation” following complaints. Teo then swoops in playing the concerned reformer, demanding an explanation after the fact.
This isn’t how the rule of law works. A person — or a media outlet — should be told what “crime” they’ve committed before the punishment is imposed, not handed a death sentence first and then told to wait for excuses. Why was there zero transparency right after the block? Why did it take public pressure for any action? Because this was never about due process. It was about control.
For a mere Facebook page, the proportionate response would have been to flag specific problematic posts and demand they be taken down. Not a blanket block that silences an entire outlet’s voice to the Malaysian public. But proportionality and accountability are apparently foreign concepts under this administration.
Stop Hiding Behind “MCMC Independence”
As Deputy Communications Minister, Teo Nie Ching, you oversee this portfolio. Power can be delegated in a democracy, but responsibility cannot be shifted. Claiming “non-interference” while your ministry’s regulator is throttling media access is the height of cowardly deflection. You don’t get to wash your hands of the mess when the heat is on. The buck stops with the political leadership — that’s you and Fahmi Fadzil.
Malaysia’s press freedom ranking has plummeted under your watch. From a respectable position in previous years, it has dropped sharply — landing at 95th in the latest Reporters Without Borders (RSF) World Press Freedom Index. Freedom of speech has been redefined as “freedom of blocking” under the Madani government. Independent voices, critical portals, and alternative media are increasingly in the crosshairs.
This incident perfectly illustrates the pattern: Act first, justify later (if at all), and use arm’s-length agencies as shields. The Coverage Media wasn’t even given basic courtesy before being muzzled.
A Warning to Teo and the DAP
You all will not be in power forever. Whatever authoritarian tactics you deploy today will boomerang when the tide turns. Time is ticking. Abuse your authority as much as you like — shut down pages, restrict access, silence critics under the guise of “public complaints.” But you can never shut down the rakyat’s voice in the ballot box.
The people are watching. They remember promises of reform, transparency, and a new Malaysia. What they’re getting instead is selective censorship and ministers playing innocent after the dirty work is done.
Teo Nie Ching, drop the performative statements. Take real responsibility. Explain to Malaysians why a critical media outlet was blocked without due process. Or stop pretending to be defenders of democracy while systematically undermining it. The lies are piling up, and the public is running out of patience.

The Coverage - Madani is more draconian in media freedom compared with previous Governments
KUALA LUMPUR, June 4, 2026: The Coverage Media Facebook page has been blocked by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) effective yesterday.
It alleged that the so-called Madani Unity Government (UG) is even more draconian in media freedom and free speech than previous federal governments.
The Coverage also suspects that its Facebook block was triggered because certain DAP leaders are highly sensitive to criticism. Its last few articles before the block discussed issues involving Marina Ibrahim and questionable political appointments in GLCs.

The Coverage Media Facebook Page Blocked by MCMC for the First Time in 10 Years

We regret to inform the public that our Coverage Media Facebook page has been restricted by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) effective 3 June 2026.
Those outside Malaysia or using a VPN will still be able to access the page.
For more than 10 years, Coverage Media has been actively reporting on national issues and has been highly critical of leaders and governments from previous administrations. Despite this, we were never blocked — not even once. This is the first time in our 10-year history that our page has been restricted, and it is happening under the Madani government, which proudly proclaims itself as the defender of freedom of expression.
Just one week before shutting down our Facebook page, certain parties circulated fake news about Coverage Media. Among the false claims:
· They alleged that this portal belongs to MCA.
· They attempted to carry out character assassination against Shen Yee Aun, claiming he is linked to MCA.
· Just because of a few articles critical towards PKR and DAP, they falsely alleged that Coverage Media is trying to ask people to support BN or PN.
For the record:
· Coverage Media has no connection whatsoever with MCA.
· Shen Yee Aun was never a member of MCA.
· He only served under Tan Sri Chua Soi Lek during his tenure as MCA President from 2012 to 2014.
· Since Tan Sri Chua Soi Lek’s retirement, both have not been actively involved in politics for the past 12 years.
· They even tried to drag in Tan Sri Vincent Lee, who has absolutely nothing to do with Coverage Media.
· Shen Yee Aun and Tan Sri Vincent Lee have not been in contact since 2018.
· The company associated with them has been dormant since 2020 and has conducted no sales, monetization, or any commercial activities since 2018.
· Coverage Media was only founded in 2016 — two years after both Shen Yee Aun and Tan Sri Chua Soi Lek had already stopped serving in MCA.
· Linking Coverage Media to MCA is a complete insult to our independent voice and hard work.
· Under its current leadership, MCA is clearly incapable of owning or managing any media platform that can generate such strong public buzz, influence, and monthly hits of 16–20 million page views. This old dinosaur political party is already past its time and heading toward extinction.
· If you scroll through the entire The Coverage Media Facebook postings, you’ll notice far more criticism directed at BN and especially PN than at DAP or PKR.
· Yet, ironically, it’s DAP and PKR who seem unable to tolerate any criticism toward themselves. That intolerance is exactly why media ranking has dropped so badly under their administration.
· As for Shen Yee Aun, he is currently busy building his new YouTube live streaming platform called Cakap Hub since 2024.
· The Coverage Media no longer supports BN, PH, or PN. These are all old political entities. It is time for a new force in Malaysia. We only want to be the voice of the progressive.
Regarding DAP’s Wong Shu Qi:
· Her old article attacking both Shen Yee Aun and Coverage Media is nothing more than another hit piece aimed at covering up their own flaws and shortcomings.
· This is the same DAP leader who previously opposed political appointments in GLCs, but is now happily accepting the position of TalentCorp Chairman.
· According to DAP’s Rayer, the salary for such a political appointment ranges between RM 90,000 and RM 120,000 per month, excluding her MP salary and allowances.
We suspect this block was triggered because certain DAP leaders are highly sensitive to criticism. Our last few articles before the block discussed issues involving Marina Ibrahim and questionable political appointments in GLCs. We also highlighted unfair policy changes under the Madani administration, including:
· The increase in the Bumiputera quota for minimum land sales from 30% (during BN and PN eras) to 50% (madani).
· The new ban on non-Muslim religious worship in commercial areas in Selangor — something that had never occurred before.
We also exposed the misleading claims regarding UEC recognition, which in reality only permits entry into four specific Chinese-related courses and faculties.
As of now, our website remains accessible. However, we believe it is only a matter of time before access to the website is also restricted.
The authorities appear deeply concerned about the influence of our Facebook page, which genuinely speaks for the people. We consistently achieve a minimum of 16 million page views per month and are on track to surpass 20 million. Almost every post receives thousands of likes, shares, and comments.
They may try to silence our voice and shut down our platforms, but they can never silence your votes.

However, we are not bothered by this. The company has been dormant since 2018. All postings since then have been done purely for the fun of it and have no commercial impact on us. Meanwhile, Shen Yee Aun continues to slowly build his new personal platform at Cakap Hub.
