This super corrupt  pencuri rakyat dan negara (thief of people and country) may be allowed to live in the luxury of a house arrest!!!

If pencuri Najib settles RM50m fine, it’s a red flag for the IRB

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 5, 2026: If the country’s No. 1 pencuri (thief), the disgraced and shameless former Umno president and prime minister Najib “1MDB” Razak settles his RM50 million fine, it raises the red flag on many fronts.

> WHERE did the super corrupt pencuri get the money?

> WHAT about the taxes and will the Inland Revenue Board (IRB/LHDN) investigate? and

> THE pencuri owes RM1.69 billion in unpaid income tax and penalties to the IRB (2011 to 2017)!

Key Details of the Case

· The Tax Debt: The IRB filed a suit against Najib to recover RM1.69 billion under the "pay first, talk later" legal principle.

· Court Rulings & Summary Judgment: The Kuala Lumpur High Court previously entered a summary judgment in favor of the IRB, which was subsequently upheld by the Federal Court on October 16, 2023.

· Bankruptcy Proceedings & Reprieve:

o The IRB initiated bankruptcy notices against Najib and his son, Nazifuddin Najib (who faces a separate RM37.6 million tax suit).

o In September 2026, the Court of Appeal granted Najib and his son a suspension/stay of the bankruptcy proceedings.

o The court ruled that continuing the bankruptcy proceedings could prejudice their ongoing tax appeal before the Special Commissioners of Income Tax (SCIT) and disrupt other active criminal and civil cases.

· Current Status: While the bankruptcy proceedings are currently stayed, the underlying tax debt of RM1.69 billion has not been cancelled or settled, and the core dispute over the tax assessment remains pending determination by the SCIT.

Media reports earlier said the former prime minister was expected to settle the fine to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest.

Former prime minister Najib Razak was recently granted a conditional pardon allowing him to serve the remainder of his SRC case jail sentence under house arrest subject to the payment of a RM50 million fine.

KUALA LUMPUR: Najib Razak’s lawyer, Shafee Abdullah, says he has not received any instructions on whether the former prime minister will pay his RM50 million fine today.

“I did not receive any instructions on this. Maybe some reporters created this news,” Shafee told reporters at the court complex here.

Several media outlets earlier reported that Najib was expected to pay the fine, which would enable him to serve the remainder of his prison sentence under house arrest.

A source was quoted as saying that Najib’s representative would make the payment at the court complex here.

Najib was jailed in August 2022 after the Federal Court upheld his conviction for abuse of power, criminal breach of trust and money laundering involving RM42 million in SRC International funds.

He was sentenced to 12 years in prison and fined RM210 million.

In January 2024, then Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah halved Najib’s prison sentence and reduced his fine to RM50 million through a royal pardon.

In September this year, the current Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, granted Najib a further conditional pardon, allowing him to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest until Aug 23, 2028.

The arrangement is subject to payment of the RM50 million fine and compliance with other stipulated conditions.

Umno has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help its former president settle the amount.

Speaking at an event in Melaka yesterday, Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the fundraising drive had yet to reach its target to cover Najib’s fine.
