Saudi Arabia deems Hadi a terrorist?

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1, 2023: The above Saudi Arabia ban on PAS president Hadi Awang is now in circulation in social media.

Is it authentic?

Police and the Home Ministry need to clarify this alleged ban by Saudi Arabia to peace-loving Malaysians as it is a public security matter that affects nat6ional unity and harmony.

A Google search found two Free Malaysia Today reports on the matter in March 2021 when Hadi was the then prime minister Muhyiddin “I Am Malay First” special envoy to the Middle East.

If the ban is authentic, why have the police and Home Ministry did nothing for more than two years as Hadi was allegedly  banned permanently to Saudi Arabia due to terrorism ideology.

Are the police and Home Ministry encouraging terrorism ideology in Malaysia?

No News Is Bad News reproduces below the two FMT news reports on the matter:

Saudis accuse ulama body linked to PAS chief of terrorism

IUMS is the latest to be added on the so-called ‘terror list’.

FMT Reporters -

KUALA LUMPUR: Saudi Arabia and its three Gulf allies today extended their so-called “terror list”, naming an international organisation of Muslim scholars whose leaders include PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.

The Saudi-led quartet comprising Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain, which recently joined forces in its diplomatic onslaught aganst Qatar, has added the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) on its list of organisations and individuals they accuse of supporting terrorism.

In a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency, they said IUMS was “working to promote terrorism through the exploitation of Islamic discourse”.

IUMS is one of two new entities and 11 individuals that have been added to the list. The other is the International Islamic Council “Massaa”, and 11 individuals.

“The two listed entities are terrorist organisations working to promote terrorism through the exploitation of Islamic discourse and its use as a cover to facilitate various terrorist activities,” the statement said.

The Qatar-based IUMS was formed in 2004 and is headed by the influential Muslim scholar Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who has also been named by the Saudis for links to terrorism.

IUMS members include Saudi cleric Salman al-Awdah, who was arrested by Saudi authorities in September, Tunisian moderate Islamist leader Rached Ghannouchi, and Moroccan scholar Ahmed Raissouni.

The quartet again accused Qatar of aiding terrorism, saying the individuals had “carried out various terrorist operations in which they have received direct Qatari support at various levels, including providing them with passports and assigning them to Qatari institutions with a charitable appearance to facilitate their movement”.

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE and Bahrain severed ties with Doha on June 4, accusing it of supporting terrorism, in what is a move to punish the oil rich sheikhdom for its friendly approach to Iran, Riyadh’s arch-enemy in the Middle East

Hadi this week lashed out at Sunni-Shia sectarianism, saying he would choose Qatar, Turkey and Iran over other Arab powers in the Middle East.

“I return to the Quran although the ruler who is the servant of the Two Holy Cities has forged intimate ties with Israel and the United States, because my faith is not with the Kaabah but with Allah,” Hadi said in an article published by PAS mouthpiece Harakahdaily on Tuesday, referring to Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Abdul Aziz.

Hadi had in the past attracted criticism by some quarters for attending a conference in Iran. Qaradawi, then a critic of Iran, had distanced his organisation from the visit.

IUMS comprises of tens of thousands of Muslim scholars worldwide, and has worked towards reconciliation between Shia and Sunni Muslims.

Shia Muslims are frequently attacked by Saudi ulama, who follow a strand of conservative Islam promoted by 18th-century scholar Muhammad Abdul Wahhab.

Hadi’s absence in Muhyiddin’s team to UAE, Saudi raises questions

Khalid Samad says government must clarify if his membership in an international Islamic group was the reason.

K. Parkaran - 19 Mar 2021, 7:30am

PETALING JAYA: The conspicuous absence of the prime minister’s special envoy to the Middle East, Abdul Hadi Awang during his official visit to the UAE and Saudi Arabia recently has raised some questions.

Some are wondering how such a key official for the region with a ministerial status was left out of the entourage when he should have been at the forefront of Muhyiddin Yassin’s week-long visit.

Amanah communications director, Khalid Samad said social media has been abuzz on this matter with various theories being bandied about which was not healthy for Malaysia’s relationship with the countries in the region.

He said one of the speculations is that the UAE declined to give him a visa on the grounds that he is a member of an Islamic organisation which is still listed as a terrorist outfit by some countries in the region.

“It is not fair to make wild accusations but the government should not ignore the questions raised either. It is important for the Prime Minister’s Office to clarify this and put a stop to the unhealthy debate in social media.

“If indeed a visa has been denied on this ground, the government must come clean and tell Malaysians the truth,” he told FMT.

The Shah Alam MP said that if Hadi is not allowed to enter certain countries there, then it defeats the whole purpose of appointing him as the special envoy for the region.

It has been reported that Hadi was the vice-president of the Qatar-based International Union of Muslim Scholars, which had been declared a terror group by the Anti-Terror Quarter of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

The reports described the entity as an organisation working to promote terrorism through the exploitation of Islamic discourse and its use as a cover to facilitate various terrorist activities.

Political assassinations in M’sia upgraded with use of bombs

KUALA LUMPUR, July 31, 2023: Political assassinations in Malaysia have been upgraded with the use of explosives.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Shuhaily Zain said the device planted under lawyer-activist Siti Kasim’s car was functioning and ready for detonation.

“The components comprised cloth, diesel, wires, batteries and firecrackers. When found, it (the device) was switched off, and needed to be physically switched on to detonate.

“I am confident that the suspect has knowledge of manufacturing explosives,” he added.

PETALING JAYA: The bomb planted under lawyer Siti Kasim’s car was functioning and ready for detonation, according to Kuala Lumpur police chief Shuhaily Zain.

“The components comprised cloth, diesel, wires, batteries and firecrackers. When found, it (the device) was switched off, and needed to be physically switched on to detonate.

“I am confident that the suspect has knowledge of manufacturing explosives,” Utusan Malaysia reported Shuhaily as saying at a press conference at the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters.

He said the investigation was still ongoing, adding that 13 people have been interviewed so far, including Siti, her friends, her mechanic and the security guards at her residence.

“We will call up whoever we feel is a witness and had access to her vehicle. We are examining all closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the route Siti travelled and are still looking for clues,” he said.

On July 21, Siti said she was alerted to two suspicious objects underneath her car after she took it to a Kuala Lumpur workshop for a routine service.

She posted a video on Facebook of what looked like plastic water bottles that were attached to the suspension of her car saying: “It looks like a bomb”. The bomb squad was dispatched soon after.

Last Monday, Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain said the device was planted with the intent to murder the lawyer-activist.

Cops believe ‘bomb’ was planted in Siti’s car

KUALA LUMPUR, July 21, 2023: Brickfields police chief Amihizam Abdul Shukor says the two suspicious objects found underneath lawyer-activist Siti Kasim’s car are believed to be an improvised (homemade) explosive device (IED).

However, Amihizam gave no explanation why it took the police bomb unit about two hours to arrive at the scene.

Lucky for everyone, the IED did not explode. If it had exploded, the Inspector-General of Police will surely have much to explain for the “delay” in response to the bomb threat.

What were the cops doing after Siti made a distress call to the police at about 1pm but the bomb unit only arrived at about 3pm.

Do they (the police) think they are playing cops and robbers like children?

Two suspicious objects were found attached to the suspension of one of the rear tyres of Siti Kasim’s car when she took it to the workshop for a routine service.

PETALING JAYA: The two suspicious objects found underneath lawyer-activist Siti Kasim’s car are believed to be an improvised explosive device (IED), say cops.

Brickfields police chief Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the area in Jalan Maarof, Bangsar was immediately cordoned off after Siti called the cops over the matter while a bomb squad and personnel from the fire and rescue department were also present at the scene.

“The two plastic bottles placed near the rear tyres are believed to be a type of IED,” he said, according to Kosmo.

Amihizam said the objects were safely extracted from the vehicle and had been taken to the forensics unit for further analysis.

Earlier, Siti said she was alerted to two suspicious objects underneath her car after she sent it to a workshop in Kuala Lumpur.

She posted a video on Facebook of what looked like plastic water bottles that were attached to the suspension of her car. She said: “It looks like a bomb”.

A bomb squad arrived at about 3pm. Siti has since lodged a police report.

KUALA LUMPUR: Lawyer Siti Kasim says she hopes that those responsible for strapping a bomb to her car will be caught soon.

In a Facebook Live session, she said police are working hard on the investigation.

"Kuala Lumpur police chief (Comm Datuk Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain) also went to the scene and assured me that the police would give it their all," she said.

"I don't know why some people think that by killing me, everything will be quiet or maybe it was just to set an example.

"Anything I have said all along is for the good of our country," she said.

Siti also thanked all her well-wishers.

"I don't want to be upset over this but it is upsetting," she said while on the verge of tears.

"The police also checked my car and tested how the culprit managed to hook the bottles to the bottom despite it being lowered," she said, adding that she still has to provide her statement.

KUALA LUMPUR: Two bottles filled with wires that were discovered behind the rear tyre of lawyer Siti Kasim's car are believed to be improvised explosive devices (IED), says Asst Comm Amihizam Abdul Shukor.

The Brickfields OCPD said police received the distress call at 12.58pm.

"We immediately dispatched the Bomb Squad while the Fire and Rescue Department was also on hand to assist.

"The Bomb Squad managed to dispose of both bottles believed to be an IED," he told reporters at the scene on Friday (July 21).

He said both bottles will be sent to experts for further analysis.

"We will conduct further checks to discover whether the device was active or not.

"Experts need to analyse both explosive devices further," he said.

ACP Amihizam said police had to cordon off the area around Jalan Maarof in Bangsar and divert traffic for the safety of the public.

"We will open all routes once the police operation is concluded," he said.

Asked whether Siti had received any threats, ACP Amihizam said the police would conduct further investigation on the matter.

"We have not recorded her statement but verbally, we discovered she did not have any enemies.

"However, we will investigate," he said

It was reported that Siti claimed there was an attempt on her life after a suspicious object was discovered underneath her car while it was being serviced at a workshop in Bangsar.

In a Facebook Live session, the activist said she feared the object could have been a bomb as wires could be seen in the object.

She said she contacted the police upon discovering the object.

"I sent my car for service as I wanted to drive to Kelantan for an Orang Asli case on Sunday.

"After I dropped off my car, I went for lunch. Suddenly, my mechanic called me and informed me of the object beneath my car," she said.

Siti was thankful that she had sent her car for service, otherwise she would not have discovered the object.

Siti alleges cops slow to react to a bomb threat

KUALA LUMPUR, July 21, 2023: Lawyer-activist Siti Kasim has alleged on a Facebook post that police took more than 10 minutes to react to a bomb threat she reported today.

“I reported the threat to police at 1pm. Ten minutes after, they are still not here,” she said.

Police must respond to assure the pubic that it gives top priority to public safety and bomb threats.

It must explain what time did they received Siti’s distress call and what time exactly did the police arrive at the scene (a car workshop).

Was the response time reasonable, given the federal capital’s notorious traffic jams?

Whether the two plastic bottles, fitted at the bottom and back of a rear tyre, was a bomb or not is immaterial.

A bomb threat is not to be treated lightly by the police and what were the two suspicious objects?

Were the homemade objects a device to cause an accident?

A public explanation from the police is in order.

She said she spotted a peculiar object near her car tyre when she was sending it for service about noon.

“There were two mineral water bottles attached to a back tyre of my car.

“At that time, the car was still at the workshop and we could do nothing about it,” she said.

She said she had since called police and informed them of a potential bomb threat.

She said she wanted to service her car, as she was heading to Kelantan to settle an Orang Asli issue there.

“I was informed by the workshop (of the matter) and was also sent pictures of the object.

“Police have since arrived, and everyone in the area has been asked to clear off,” she said.

Siti Kasim: I won’t be afraid to do what’s right for the rakyat

KUALA LUMPUR: The Batu seat, with 10 candidates in the fray, will really be a free-for-all in GE15, but lawyer-turned-politician Siti Kasim (pic) believes she would be a good choice because she does not have to toe any party line.

The Independent candidate said she could offer a different perspective, having a proven track record of fighting for people’s rights.

“I really feel Batu residents are able to judge who can offer knowledge and services,” she said.

“I have a track record of over 10 years. I have been consistent in my stand, and in my actions for the oppressed and against the authorities.

“I will not be afraid to do what is right for constituents. Batu voters ought to look at the person and their background (before deciding).

“If P. Prabakaran (of Pakatan Harapan) is better, then vote for him. If (ex-PKR leader turned Independent) Tian Chua is better, vote for him.”

Asked how she saw herself in the contest, she said: “I am just another competitor, another person who is offering herself as a candidate.”

Her manifesto centres on the separation of religion from government. She believes the subject will resonate with voters in the constituency, which has a majority of non-Malay voters.

“I am not against religion. What I am saying is that we don’t want politicians to be using religion as their political tool and rhetoric.”

Siti said being an Independent also gives her the freedom to voice out on any issues without having to obey party leaders on what can be said and what cannot be said.

She said she would also provide legal avenues for residents of Batu and hold classes to educate them on their rights.

“Many people do not know their rights,” said the 59-year-old known as an activist for Orang Asli and Orang Asal rights.

While she is Pakatan Harapan-friendly, she has no plans to join the coalition.

“If there’s any policy I disagree with, I will say I disagree,” she said, adding she would support Barisan Nasional or Perikatan Nasional if they came up with the right policies.

“I want what’s good for the rakyat,” said Siti.

Apart from Prabakaran and Tian Chua, Siti will be up against MIC’s Datuk A. Kohilan Pillay from Barisan, Perikatan’s Azhar Yahya (PAS), Pejuang’s Wan Azliana Wan Adnan, Warisan’s P. Naganathan, and Parti Rakyat Malaysia’s Zulkifli Abd Fatah.

Independents Nur Fathiah Syazwana and Too Cheng Huat are also contesting the seat.

Cops fear to act against ‘I Am Malay First’ on 3R?

KUALA LUMPUR, July 31, 2023: Three days after nomination of candidates for elections in the six states, the police have started looking to be like “toothless tigers” who simply are not serious about clamping down on those out to exploit the 3Rs (Religion, Race and Royalty) for political mileage.

Police have the power to stop all who undermine national unity and harmony but they are seen not doing as such.

Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abdul Rashid has l;odged a police report against Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Muhyiddin “I Am Malay First” Yassin for continuing to play up 3R issues to divide Malaysians.

Syerleena urged the police to investigate Muhyiddin, who does not consider himself to be a Malaysian First, to divide Malaysians with fear mongering.

This also means Muhyiddin's priority is loyal to race, not rakyat dan negara (Malaysians and Malaysia).

The ‘I Am Malay First’ bull-shitter

Why is the police still so mum on those exploiting 3R issues for political mileage in their campaigns instead of campaigning on constructive socio-economic issues for a progressive Malaysia which is saddled with a RM1.5 trillion national debt - no thanks to previous federal governments led by premiers like Muhyiddin and jailbird Najib Abdul Razak.

PETALING JAYA: Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abdul Rashid has filed a police report against Perikatan Nasional chairman Muhyiddin Yassin for accusing the Anwar Ibrahim unity government of being run by non-Malays and citing the “Allah” issue as an example.

Syerleena urged the police to investigate Muhyiddin under Section 505 of the Penal Code as well as the Sedition Act 1948.

She accused PN of hypocrisy in playing up 3R (race, religion and royalty) issues to garner support for the state elections.

“His (Muhyiddin’s) intention is clear, (that is) to divide the people with fear mongering,” the former Seri Delima assemblyman told a press conference today.

Syerleena said Muhyiddin had, at a press conference on June 22, said PN would steer clear of the 3R issue and focus on addressing “important” matters such as the high cost of living.

However, at a PN ceramah last night, Muhyiddin said that when he was the home minister in the Pakatan Harapan government from 2018 to 2020, he had come under pressure from DAP not to allow an appeal against a High Court ruling on the use of the word “Allah” by a Sarawakian woman in her religious learning.

The Bersatu president said he had urged the PH government to appeal the High Court ruling, but it did not proceed further because Anwar’s government came into power last year.

He alleged that the decision to abandon the appeal was made due to pressure from DAP. “Even when I was with them (in the PH government), they pushed me not to allow an appeal.”

The issue arose when Sarawakian Jill Ireland sought a court order to allow the use of the word “Allah” for the purpose of religious education in Malay and her native Melanau language in Sarawak.

In a landmark decision in March 2021, the High Court declared as illegal a 1986 home ministry ruling to prohibit the use of the words “Allah”, “Baitullah”, “Solat” and “Kaabah” by non-Muslims.

The government filed an appeal, but on April 18 this year, the Attorney-General’s Chambers, representing the home ministry, notified the Court of Appeal that it did not wish to pursue the case.

Muhyiddin claims Anwar became PM to stop govt’s ‘Allah’ appeal, agrees with court that Christians can use word

KUALA LUMPUR — Perikatan Nasional (PN) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has claimed that the “unity government” under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is run by non-Malays.

Muhyiddin also claimed he was pressured by DAP when he was the home minister in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) federal administration under then prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad not to appeal against a High Court ruling that allowed a Sarawakian Bumiputera Christian to use the word “Allah” – a word of Middle Eastern roots referring to God – in her religious learning, news portal Free Malaysia Today reported.

“Even when I was with them (in the PH government), they pushed me not to allow an appeal,” he was quoted as saying in Kapar, Selangor late last night.

Muhyiddin also alleged that Anwar’s decision to not allow an appeal for the Allah issue was due to pressure by DAP.

“As a Malay leader, that is why I urged the PH government to appeal (against the High Court ruling).

“Even if we had lost the appeal at the highest court level, we could have made a law on the Allah issue,” he was quoted as saying

According to Muhyiddin, there is a big difference between a Muslim using the word “Allah” compared to Christians.

The news portal did not report if he elaborated on the difference.

Muhyiddin, who was prime minister from March 2020 to August 2021, was reported saying he could not proceed with the government appeal because Anwar became prime minister after GE15 last November.

“He became the prime minister and decided to stop the appeal, and when you don’t appeal it means you agree to the court order which allows Christians to use the word ‘Allah’,” he was quoted as saying.

He accused Anwar of being willing to do anything to stay in power, even if it meant befriending its arch political nemesis Umno.

There have been several other separate cases concerning the use of the word “Allah” by Christians that had gone to court in the last two decades.

The “Allah” issue returned to the limelight this year after news emerged on May 15 that the government was withdrawing its appeal in the case of Sarawakian Christian Jill Ireland Lawrence Bill who had challenged the Home Ministry’s right to ban her from using it and confiscating her religious materials that she had brought back after a trip to Indonesia 13 years ago.

On June 7, Anwar said his government will abide by the decision made by the Conference of Rulers when it meets in October to discuss the use of the word “Allah” by non-Muslims in Malaysia.

Anwar said the federal government’s stand is to recognise and apply the existing policy which limits the use of the word “Allah” to Muslims in peninsular Malaysia and to give a conditional relaxing of this policy for non-Muslims in Sabah and Sarawak.

Despite the announcement, the issue appears to continue to be on the simmer as six states head to the polls on August 12.  MM

DAP MP calls on police to investigate Muhyiddin for racial, religious incitement over ‘Allah’ court case ahead of state polls

KUALA LUMPUR — Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abdul Rashid today called on the police to investigate Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for racial and religious incitement over his recent remarks on the unity government’s court withdrawal in appealing against a Sarawakian Bumiputera Christian’s contentious use of the word “Allah” for God.

The government backbencher from DAP said Muhyiddin’s remarks were a “dirty tactic” that aimed to create division even after Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain warned political parties to steer clear of touching on sensitive topics involving religion, royalty and race (3R) in the state elections.

“His intention is clear, to divide the people with fear mongering,” she told a press conference in George Town that was also livestreamed on the DAP’s Facebook page this afternoon.

Syerleena accused the former prime minister of hypocrisy in playing up the 3R issues to garner support from Malay-Muslims voters for August 12 six state elections.

She said Muhyiddin had expressly stated in a June 22 press conference that PN would steer clear of the 3R issue and focus on addressing “important” matters such as the high cost of living.

“It is very clear cut. We are now urging the police to commence a probe against Muhyiddin,” she added.

Syerleena’s DAP party mate and Jelutong MP RSN Rayer who was also present at the same news conference said Muhyiddin’s latest remark is clearly meant to sway Malay-Muslim voters not to back the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional (PH-BN) unity government and its candidates in the state elections.

“I want to urge them to not resort to dirty tactics such as using religion and race during their campaign.

“Our campaign has been clean and on what can be done by the respective state governments, we do not resort to dirty tactics such as PN,” he said.

Several news outlets reported Muhyiddin saying at a PN ceramah in Kapar, Selangor last night that he was under pressure from DAP not to appeal against a High Court ruling that allowed Sarawakian Melanau Christian Jill Ireland Lawrence Bill to use the word Arabic word for God, “Allah” as part of her religious learning.

Muhyiddin was also reported claiming that PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had become prime minister only to stop the government from appealing the court decision so that non-Muslims could use the word.  MM

Report lodged against Muhyiddin over Allah issue

GEORGE TOWN: A DAP lawmaker has called on the police to probe Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin over his speech yesterday which touched on 3R issues (race, religion, royalty).

In his speech, Muhyiddin had alleged that the “Allah” issue demonstrated that non-Malays were running the unity government.

He further alleged that when he was the then home minister, he came under pressure from DAP to not allow an appeal against a High Court ruling that allowed a Sarawakian Bumiputera Christian to use the word “Allah”.

DAP Bukit Bendera member of parliament Syerleena Abdul Rashid described Muhyiddin’s allegations as “ridiculous”.

She said, when something like this was uttered, it clearly violated what the Inspector-General of Police had mentioned (to refrain from touching on 3R issues).

She added that it was also against what Muhyiddin had said last month that PN would not play on 3R issues.

“This is a hypocrisy by PN to use 3R issues for the ongoing state elections.

“The reason is none other than to cause hatred and fear mongering to prevent the people from voting.

“As such, I have lodged a police report and urge the authority to probe this matter under Section 505 of the Penal Code and the Sedition Act,” she said at the Wisma DAP here today.

She was accompanied by DAP legal adviser RSN Rayer.

Rayer said it was clear that Muhyiddin’s statement was out to confuse the voters, particularly the Malays, to not vote for the unity government and Pakatan Harapan in the six states facing state elections.

“Muhyiddin’s statement clearly has bad intentions to influence the Malay voters.

“As such, we urge the IGP to take stern actions. It is a serious offence to use 3R issues.

“He should investigate and charge Muhyiddin before the state elections,” he added.

He also warned Muhyiddin that he could be probed under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) for revealing details of discussions in Cabinet.

“Anyway, that aside, we deny all of Muhyiddin’s allegations.

“For them, DAP is at fault for everything.

“On our part, we have ensured clean campaigning for the past three days,” he said.

Meanwhile, state Amanah secretary Mohd Saifullah Abd Nasir condemned Muhyiddin’s action.

He also told Muhyiddin that the Malays were well informed now and not easily influenced by such an agenda.  NST

Govt to clampdown on racial, religious bigots

Malaysia’s top three racial and religious bigots.

Govt to clampdown on racial, religious bigots

KUALA LUMPUR, July 12, 2023: Yes! Enough said, enough is enough.

National unity and harmony must be prioritised for the rakyat dan negara (people and country).

And this is not about curbing freedom of speech but national security,

To quote the late Ugandian president Idi Amin: “There is freedom of speech but, but I cannot guarantee freedom after speech.”

Yesterday (July 11, 2023, the Government issued a “final warning” to those playing up issues that touch on race, religion and royalty (3R).

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said he had been informed by the police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) that they were monitoring everyone, regardless of race, religion or social status.

“It doesn’t matter who the ‘extremist’ is, be it a Malay, or even someone in power, or even if (the postings touching on 3R) are made in Mandarin or Tamil.

“If you break the law, challenge the constitution, or sow the seed of hatred, the consensus of the Government and the Malay rulers, is to save the country from those that are so desperate to hold on to power that they sacrifice the greater good and cause chaos,” he added.

No News Is Bad News says “that is well and good”.

Just stop talking, walk the talk.

How about starting with the biggest culprits - Dr Mahathir Mohamad, PAS president Hadi Awang and Muhyiddin “I Am Malaysian First” Yassin.

That should teach all racial and religious bigots to start toeing the line and be law-abiding citizens who treasure peace and harmony.

Do you think the Government, especially the police, has the will to act without fear or favour? You, Malaysians, sit and watch, and be the judge:

Govt gives ‘final warning’ to those playing up 3R issues

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says the police and MCMC are monitoring everyone, regardless of race or title.

Joel Shasitiran and Yasmin Abd Latif - 12 Jul 2023, 12:07am

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, seen here with party leaders of the unity government, said the nation could not be stable if people constantly played up the 3R issues.

KUALA LUMPUR: The government has issued a “final warning” to those playing up issues that touch on race, religion and royalty (3R).

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said he had been informed by the police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) that they are monitoring everyone, regardless of race, religion or social status.

“It doesn’t matter who the ‘extremist’ is, be it a Malay, or even someone in power, or even if (the postings touching on 3R) are made in Mandarin or Tamil.

“If you break the law, challenge the constitution, or sow the seed of hatred, the consensus of the government and the Malay rulers, is to save the country from those that are so desperate to hold on to power that they sacrifice the greater good and cause chaos,” he said after a meeting of unity government leaders at Umno headquarters here.

Anwar also said the country could not be stable if people “would do anything” to stay in power or garner support, including playing on the 3Rs.

“This is the final warning by the government. As the prime minister, I have no choice because academics have pressured (the government) to protect the nation’s safety,” he said.

Earlier today, Dewan Negara president Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said MPs playing up 3R issues in the lead-up to the state elections were being divisive.

The former Santubong MP said that in Sarawak, such sensitive issues were not raised because nothing would come of it.

Last Friday, Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain also said the police would investigate anyone playing up 3R issues.

Razarudin urged politicians to stay clear of the subject when campaigning for the state polls, saying it could cause disharmony in the community.

Meanwhile, Anwar said there were only a few more seats left to be finalised between government parties for the state elections.

“We will announce the names of the candidates in two or three days time,” he said.

The wisdom behind ‘There is freedom of speech, but I cannot guarantee freedom after speech’

The wisdom behind ‘There is freedom of speech, but I cannot guarantee freedom after speech’

KUALA LUMPUR, July 4, 2023: Whatever you think of the late Ugandian dictator Idi Amin, there was at least something that he said that was universal.

Idi said: “There is freedom of speech, but I cannot guarantee freedom after speech.”

Whether you like it or not, that is the truth and reality of the world. And there is no such thing as absolute freedom of speech - not even in the world’s biggest democracy, the United States of America (USA).

In the US, even those who spill the beans on the Government for truth and justice are chastised. No?

Remember Edward Snowden, the whistleblower behind the NSA surveillance revelations?

(Definition of whistleblower - a person who informs on a person or organisation regarded as engaging in an unlawful or immoral activity.)

It is, therefore, heartening to note that the newly appointed Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Razarudin Husain, has urged politicians to stay clear of issues that touch on race, religion and royalty (3R) when campaigning for the elections in six states due soon.

“Sensitive issues related to the 3Rs can cause disharmony in communities. The Federal Constitution does provide for freedom of speech, but not when it comes to sensitive issues that can divide communities,” Razardsin was quoted as saying by Kosmo (a Bahasa Malaysia newspaper).

The IGP is absolutely right because in multi-racial-multi-religious communities, sensitive matters must not be allowed to be politicised nor used to score political points.

In multi-racial-multi-religious Malaysia, or for that matter in any country, national unity and harmony cannot be compromised for a prosperous socio-economic future.

As for the royalty, just recite, respect and adhere to the Rukun Negara that is taught in schools:

So, all Malaysians must adhere to the Rukun Negara, including racial and religious bigots on both sides of the political divide.

Razarudin warned that police would not hesitate to take swift action under the Sedition Act and Election Offences Act if anyone was found committing offences in campaigning for the state elections.

Malaysians pray he will walk the talk to protect/defend the rakyat dan negara (people and country) and the Federal Constitution.

PETALING JAYA: Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain has urged politicians to stay clear of issues that touch on race, religion and royalty when campaigning for the elections in six states due soon.

Razarudin said sensitive issues related to the 3Rs could cause disharmony in the community, Kosmo reported.

“Political parties are (led by) veterans and they already know that I would advise them not to touch on sensitive issues related to the 3Rs.

“The Federal Constitution does provide for freedom of speech, but not when it comes to sensitive issues that can divide the community,” he said after attending a briefing at the Penang police headquarters on preparations for the elections.

He warned that the police would not hesitate to take swift action under the Sedition Act and Election Offences Act if anyone was found making these offences in campaigning for the state elections.

He said police had zone officers who will be monitoring the election campaign and recording speeches made at ceramahs.

Razarudin said some 40,000 policemen and officers will be on duty throughout the elections in Penang, Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Selangor and Negri Sembilan.

Time for the King to act against Dr M, 'Malaysia’s No.1 public enemy'

Time for the King to act against Dr M, 'Malaysia’s No.1 public enemy'

KUALA LUMPUR, July 3, 2023: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shahprior to forming the current Unity Government (UG) in November (2022), had an idea for a song of unity.

His Majesty asked veteran singer-songwriter DJ Dave to compose a patriotic song like the 36-year-old classic “Setia” (loyal or loyalty) that had soared like a second national anthem.

Dave said he was told to compose a song that encouraged people to abandon inequality and embrace each other as one.

The King was that worried and concerned in August for the future of Malaysians (his subjects) and Malaysia prior to the 15th General Election (GE15).

As the King, he has no political ambitions but for the welfare of his subjects and country - knowing very well that political stability, national unity and harmony are prerequisites of a healthy and prosperous country.

His worry and concerned were with basis and wisdom when GE15 concluded with a hung 222-seat Parliament with the Taliban-like PAS winning 49 seats, DAP 40, PKR 31, Umno 26, Bersatu 25 and PBB 14.

Malaysia was saved from a possible Taliban-like rule when the King managed to get Anwar Ibrahim’s PKR, DAP, Umno and, the Sarawak and Sabah political blocks to form a UG.

Today, Dr M - whole governed Malaysia for a total of 26 years as prime minister - is an ungrateful Malaysian, taking the lead to spew racial and religious venom to help PAS and PN win in the six state elections and in the next GE.

A concerned Malaysian Adnan D has penned a letter, published by online news portal Free Malaysia Today, for the UG to put an end to Dr M’s venom and lies.

No News Is Bad News appeals to the King to take the lead to end the racial and religious venom spewed by politicians on both sides of the political divide by making an example of the “ungrateful to the nation” Dr M.

Start with stripping Dr M of all his federal awards/titles:

Put an end to Dr M’s venom and lies

Action should be taken against the former prime minister over his incendiary statements which stab decency in the back.

Letter to the Editor - 03 Jul 2023, 10:20pm

From Adnan D

I read Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s latest tweets and watched the former prime minister’s recent press conferences. Why on earth does he talk with so much hatred and lies? It is unbelievable.

Who told him people want the name of Malaysia changed? Or that the “other races“ wanted to take over? Please give us evidence.

A bigger question is why do the Malaysian media give a platform for a “has been” politician to spew venom when he should have retired. Why encourage such hatred and bigotry when it’s obvious he is dying for attention?

Action should be taken against Mahathir. He should be banned from making public statements. His passport should be taken away. Enough is enough, lest he destroys Malaysia.

I suppose the current government is concerned about taking to court a man who is nearly 100 years old. He could end up in jail and be turned into a martyr.

But we should not let age be a deciding factor. If someone spews venom, it has to be dealt with.

You cannot let Mahathir and Abdul Hadi Awang for that matter – who has been blaming non-Muslims for various things – to keep stabbing decency and civility in the back.

The government must not tolerate such behaviour on account of their age.

Why put at risk the happiness of over 30 million peace-loving Malaysians just to “save face” of two politicians?

If this is not insanity, I don’t know what is.

The King, DJ Dave, and a song of unity

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong desired a song for people to embrace each other as one, and the veteran singer delivered a memorable melody.

KUALA LUMPUR: Months before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah formed the unity government, and installed the prime minister, he had an idea for a song of unity.

Last August, the King asked veteran singer-songwriter DJ Dave to compose a patriotic song like the 36-year-old classic “Setia” (loyal or loyalty) that had soared like a second national anthem.

Dave said he was told to compose a song that encouraged people to abandon inequality and embrace each other as one.

He said: “The Agong stressed that loyalty made unity possible, and that it will only happen if we are aware that one people and one nation means we rise together as a people.

“Tuanku wanted the song to be first sung in Bahasa Melayu, followed by the singers, representing every major ethnic group, singing in their own dialect,” he said.

Dave said the King’s call for a song about harmony and stability came long before the unity government was formed, and marked the start of the making of “Setia Perpaduan” (loyal unity).

The upbeat “Setia Perpaduan” eventually became the theme song of the national unity week celebration, launched by Sultan Abdullah in Kuching last month.

It was composed by Dave, with lyrics by national laureate Professor Lim Swee Tin and musical arrangement by S Atan.

Don’t just talk Loke: Take Dr M to court, get a restraining order to stop him from further slandering DAP and Malaysians

Mr Loke! Do you think Dr M will heed what you and DAP say?

Don’t just talk Loke: Take Dr M to court, get a restraining order to stop him from further slandering DAP and Malaysians

KUALA LUMPUR, July 3, 2023: Of all the people, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke should know better what Dr Mahathir Mohamad (Dr M) is about and his character.

Does anyone really think that he will listen or heed anyone’s call?

The lack of legal action against Dr M over the years has emboldened him to the extend that he now feels he is “untouchable”, and thus can spin lies about anything he wants just to serve his personal political agenda.

He is out to create unrest among extremists with racial and religious rhetoric to shatter national unity and harmony among Malaysians aimed at destabilising the Anwar Ibrahim-led Unity Government.

Mr Loke! Are you a political greenhorn? If not, why are you wasting time giving lip-service, What is preventing you from taking concrete action to defend the Federal Constitution for peace-loving Malaysians?

No News Is Bad News reproduces below Loke’s lip-service:

Irresponsible of Dr M to accuse DAP of plotting to remove Islam as official religion, says Loke

PETALING JAYA: It is irresponsible of former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to accuse DAP of pressuring Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim into removing Islam as the official religion of the country, says Anthony Loke.

The DAP secretary-general also described Dr Mahathir’s accusations as baseless, where the nonagenarian allegedly said DAP, with 40 parliamentary seats, is threatening Anwar into making Malaysia a secular country with no official religion.

“I sternly repeat DAP’s stance that all DAP MPs will defend the Federal Constitution, which includes respecting the position of Islam as the religion of the federation and at the same time, other religions can be practised peacefully as enshrined in Article 3(1) of the Constitution,” said Loke.

“DAP has never and will never question the position of Islam as the religion of the federation as stated in the Federal Constitution,” added Loke.

Loke said he was disappointed with Dr Mahathir’s remarks, questioning if the former premier was threatened by the 42 DAP MPs during his tenure between May 2018 and February 2020.

“Has DAP ever retracted support for him or threatened his position?” Loke asked.

Loke said since Malaysia achieved independence, the country was well known for its diverse society living peacefully.

“Did Tun forget about his vision to create a Malaysian race through Wawasan 2020? Why is he taking such a stance of being enemies with other races?” asked Loke.

Loke said DAP will never be enemies of any races and the party will continue serving the county to create a united society based on the principles of Rukun Negara.

“Dr Mahathir doesn’t have to worry. Malaysia will always remain as a member of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) under the unity government,” Loke added.

Dr Mahathir, in a statement on Monday (July 3), said it was unconstitutional to promote a multiracial country, as the Federal Constitution never mentioned that Malaysia was a multiracial country.

“Instead, the Constitution stressed a Malay- Malaysia,” said Dr Mahathir.

Dr Mahathir was responding to Bukit Gelugor Umno information chief Huzaidi Husin’s call for him to stop fanning racial sentiments.

Dr Mahathir then took a further swipe at the current Cabinet line-up.

“Yes, DAP only has four ministers. But within the government, there are 40 DAP MPs. If DAP retracted support, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s government would collapse.

“That is why Anwar has to follow DAP’s manifesto, specifically making multiracial Tanah Melayu and replacing the official religion of Islam with a secular country and a country without an official religion,” added Dr Mahathir. - The Star

Promoting a multi-ethnic country unconstitutional, claims Dr M

Dr Mahathir Mohamad responds to Bukit Gelugor Umno information chief Huzaidi Hussin’s calls for him to stop dividing the nation.

FMT Reporters - 03 Jul 2023, 3:25pm

Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad says the Federal Constitution never described Malaysia as a multi-ethnic nation.

PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has claimed that promoting a multi-ethnic country goes against the Federal Constitution.

In response to Bukit Gelugor Umno information chief Huzaidi Hussin’s calls for him to stop dividing the nation by playing with racial sentiments, Mahathir said he was only defending the Federal Constitution by citing its provisions.

“On the contrary, promoting a multi-ethnic country is against the Federal Constitution,” he said in a tweet.

Mahathir also questioned whether the current government is disregarding the rule of law as Malaysia was never described as a multi-ethnic nation in the Federal Constitution.

“Instead, the Federal Constitution emphasises the ‘Malayness’ of Malaysia,” he said.

On June 16, Huzaidi said there was no need for Mahathir to continue stirring racial sentiments because most Malays have moved on and are eager to see Malaysia’s economic resurgence.

Huzaidi also dismissed Mahathir’s previous claim that DAP wielded significant influence on the unity government as DAP holds only four ministerial positions.

However, in his tweet, Mahathir said there are 40 DAP MPs who could withdraw their support for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s government, causing it to collapse.

“That is why Anwar must adhere to DAP’s manifesto, which specifically aims to make Malaysia a multi-ethnic country and replace Islam as the official religion with a secular state,” he said.

Previously, the former Bersatu chairman had claimed that there were attempts by people “from other countries” to change Malaysia from being a “Tanah Melayu” (land of the Malays) into a multiracial country.

Mahathir also claimed that these people refused to recognise Malays as the “founders, locals and builders of the country”.

DAP leaders hit back at PAS man over 3R claims

Party chairman Lim Guan Eng and Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abdul Rashid remind PAS information chief of his president’s statements in the past.

FMT Reporters - 03 Jul 2023, 1:51pm

Lim Guan Eng and Syerleena Abdul Rashid pointed out that it was PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s comments that touched on racial and religious sensitivities.

PETALING JAYA: Two DAP leaders have hit back at PAS information chief Khairil Nizam Khirudin after he accused the party of playing up issues pertaining to race, religion and royalty (3R).

DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng said Khairil should call for stern action to be taken against the Islamic party’s president Abdul Hadi Awang, instead of telling Putrajaya to be fair when punishing political parties who touch on such issues.

Lim said that Hadi had issued a lot of statements that touch on 3R and had “deliberately denigrated, humiliated, discriminated and bullied non-Muslims.”

“By demanding that action be taken against DAP leaders reacting to PAS’ extremist and racist statements against non-Muslims, PAS is behaving no different to a thief who calls his victim a thief,” he said in a statement.

Yesterday, Khairil called for the communications and digital ministry to be fair when reacting to political parties that allegedly raised 3R issues. He accused DAP vice-chairman Nga Kor Ming of spreading Islamophobia.

On June 27, Nga, as the local government development minister, called for the Kota Bharu Municipal Council (MPKB) to retract a compound notice issued to a non-Muslim for allegedly dressing indecently.

Khairil also hit out at former Damansara MP Tony Pua for his controversial remark labelling Barisan Nasional and Bersatu as “corrupt”, saying it was racially charged as they both have Malay leaders.

Meanwhile, DAP’s Syerleena Abdul Rashid also issued a statement sharing similar sentiments, pointing out Hadi’s comments that touched on racial and religious sensitivities.

She went on to say that Hadi had once claimed that non-Muslim and non-Bumiputera communities were the most involved in corruption.

“Such outdated tactics are predictable and reflect the reality that the other side has run out of ideas,” she said, commenting on Khairil’s attack on DAP leaders.

“As usual, PAS continues to play their damaging narrative of ‘everything is DAP’s fault,’, especially in the run-up to the state election.”

That’s enough, stop spinning stories, Dr M told

Three DAP MPs denounce Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s claim that Anwar Ibrahim is controlled by DAP.

FMT Reporters - 03 Jul 2023, 6:04pm

DAP’s Dr Kelvin Yii, Syahredzan Johan and Young Syefura Othman have urged Dr Mahathir Mohamad to stop making accusations against their party.

PETALING JAYA: A trio of DAP MPs have hit out at Dr Mahathir Mohamad for claiming that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is “adhering to DAP’s manifesto” due to the party’s influence over the government.

Claiming that promoting a multi-ethnic country goes against Malaysia’s Federal Constitution, Mahathir said DAP’s 40 MPs could cause the government to collapse by withdrawing their support for Anwar’s administration.

“That is why Anwar must adhere to DAP’s manifesto, which specifically aims to make Malaysia a multi-ethnic country and replace Islam as the official religion with a secular state,” he said on Twitter earlier.

In response, Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii told Mahathir to stop inventing stories that may divide the nation.

“That’s enough, Tun. (DAP) has never questioned the position of Islam in the constitution. At the same time, we defend the rights of all citizens, regardless of race or religion, as enshrined in the constitution.

“Don’t try to change history by coming up with an illogical narrative that creates a delusion, just to stay relevant,” Yii said in a series of Twitter posts.

Meanwhile, Bangi MP Syahredzan Johan said Mahathir’s claims had no basis, telling the former Pakatan Harapan chairman to stop making false accusations against DAP.

“The politics of scaring people with baseless propaganda is outdated, Tun,” he said.

Bentong MP Young Syefura Othman also dismissed Mahathir’s claims, saying: “Dear Tun, that’s enough.”

In a tweet, PKR’s Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Karim told Mahathir to refer to Article 153(1) of the Federal Constitution, which safeguards the special position of the Malays, the indigenous people of Sabah and Sarawak, and the legitimate interests of other races in Malaysia.

“This means that Malaysia is a multi-ethnic country,” said Hassan, who is a lawyer by training.
