PM Anwar fires PAS-PN from all cylinders

KUALA LUMPUR, July 21, 2023: With Malaysians going to the polls in six states on Aug 12, 2023, the Taliban-like PAS and Perikatan Nasional (PN) are expected to step up their racial and religious bigotry to win votes.

At the moment, the Opposition politicians do not seem to fear the warnings of the police and Government to stop threatening Malaysia’s national unity and harmony.

And the royalty have also come out to advise all to refrain from using race and religion for political mileage.

But PAS and the Muhyiddin “I Am Malay First” Yassin-led PN are not expected to heed the royal advice.

In fact, political analysts warn that PAS and PN aim to turn Malaysia into their own brand of Islamic State and to relieved the royalty as Malaysia’s head of Islam.

And Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has upped the ante against the PAS-PN leaders, prior to nomination day on July 29, 2023.

Anwar warned politicians not to take his prime minister’s decorum as a sign of weakness.

He also said many things about past corrupt leaders that no other past prime ministers dared to raise (Watch the above two video clips).

No News Is Bad News reproduces below two news reports on the royalty’s advice to state election candidates:

SHAH ALAM: Potential candidates in the upcoming state polls have been reminded by the Selangor sultan to refrain from criticising, backbiting, slandering and insulting people while on the campaign trail.

Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah said God had promised to punish those who “committed such sins”, Bernama reported.

The Selangor ruler said he had noticed that slandering and backbiting were rampant and done “without fear and shame”, especially in the run up to the polls.

“It is as if the election has justified such sins to be committed to win support and votes,” he was quoted as saying.

Sultan Sharafuddin called on Muslims in the state to heed the Friday sermon which focused on the need to refrain from backbiting and insulting others.

He also reminded the people that making false accusations and slandering others were considered major sins as they were deemed to be worse than murder.

He said if such behaviour was not curbed, it would get out of hand.

Sultan Sharafuddin reiterated that issues related to race, religion and royalty, better known as 3R, should not be made election fodder to prevent racial and religious disharmony.

The sultan’s reminder comes after PAS’ Sanusi Nor was slapped with two charges of making seditious statements against royalty.

Sanusi, who is Perikatan Nasional election director and also caretaker Kedah menteri besar, has claimed trial.

He had allegedly insulted the sultan of Selangor by appearing to question his choice of Amirudin Shari as the state’s menteri besar.
Sanusi has since apologised for the remarks.

Selangor and five other states will go to the polls on Aug 12. Nominations will be held on July 29.

SHAH ALAM – The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today reminded all prospective candidates and party supporters that the campaigning period for the state election next month is not a licence to freely backbite, criticise, defame and insult others.

The Selangor Royal Office in a statement posted on Facebook today said the sultan also reminded that Allah’s promise to punish those who commit such sins is real and should not be taken lightly.

“Based on His Majesty’s observation, the sins of slandering and backbiting have become rampant and are being committed without fear and shame towards Allah, especially during election season.

“It is as if the election has turned into a festival that justifies the sins in the pursuit of gaining support and votes from the people,” the statement said.

Sultan Sharafuddin also called on Muslims in Selangor to take heed of the Friday sermon today, which focused on the sins of backbiting and insulting others.

In line with the sermon, His Majesty also emphasised the danger of slandering or throwing false accusations, which is one of the seven major sins and greater than murder.

“His Majesty has often advised Muslims not to fall into this reprehensible act.

“His Majesty is worried that if this practice of slandering and backbiting is not curbed, division among Muslims, especially in Selangor, will become more severe and uncontrollable,” according to the statement.

The statement noted that in the royal address on the state assembly’s dissolution on June 19, the sultan also said that issues related to race, religion and royal institutions should not be made a topic of debate during the election campaign to prevent racial and religious disharmony.

“The federal constitution has stated that Islam is the federation’s religion…it will remain protected and cannot be challenged by any party.

“The raja and sultan are the head of religion for their states, and must be respected and adhered to as long as they obey Allah SWT…they are the umbrella that protects all the people under their auspices.”  – Bernama, July 21, 2023
