Straight-As and perfect score? BUT in Malaysia, that’s NOT good enough if your skin colour is NOT right! For image info, go to https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/smiling-graduates-hugging-outdoors-gm143071519-24437692?searchscope=image%2Cfilm
Entry into public universities continues to reject straight-A achievers
KUALA LUMPUR, May 11, 2025: All these talk about the Anwar Ibrahim-led so-called Madani Unity Government (UG)’s reforms are just “plain bullshit”!
More than two years after becoming Malaysia’s 10th Primne Minister (PMX), everything non-inclusive governance a still entrenched.
Racial and religious bigotry continues to flourish, threatening national unity and harmony.
The UG is not about to stop all from mixing race religion wityh politics.
Education is one issue that should not be mixed with politics and race. Education should be based on meriticracy.
When an education system that denies/rejects straight-A students, something is very wrong and it stnks.
You don’t need the brain of a rocket scientist to forsee what happens o a country that rejects talent and brains.
Why are all Southeast Asia and Asian countries, many were then far behind Malaysia some three decades ago, are now progressing at lightning speed but Malaysia is progressing in the opposite.
And politicians and the Government are asking why iis Malaysia losing the brains and talented? Why are they not returning to Malaysia to contribute to nation-building?
YOU rejected them, so why should they now return when the pasture is greener overseas?
The Malaysian Government is more concerned with what people can eat, wear and what is halal and non-halal.
At the rate the racial and religious bigots are threatening national unity and harmony, sooner or later, socio-economic misery will be the order of the day for rakyat dan negara (people and country).

Let’s be clear: this is a political issue, not an academic one. Whether it's "10As" or any other metric, the entire process is steeped in racism, plain and simple. The matriculation system was never about merit; it was designed from the outset as a racially exclusive pipeline for bumiputera students to bypass public exams and secure university seats.
It’s disheartening—frankly, embarrassing—that some within the non-Malay community are celebrating the token 10% quota. What does 10% actually achieve? Why are they begging for scraps? Real reform would mean opening up opportunities based on need, not skin color or ancestry. How many more young lives must be dictated by the accident of birth? Is it just that your access to education depends on your race? Education should be a matter of class, not ethnicity.
Say what you want about the Madani administration, but the reality on the ground is this: things have deteriorated when it comes to equitable education access.
And to the non-Malay community: it’s time to face facts. The Rocket has no real interest in fighting for equal education for all, particularly for the B40. I won’t get into the reasons—but know this: if you’re waiting for them to take up this cause, you’ll be waiting forever.
