Education in Malaysia continues to back pedal
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4, 2023: As it is, Malaysian students’ command of the English Language is already way below international standards.
Instead of progressing education with the use of English, the Anwar Ibrahim Unity Government (UG) is backpedaling further, just to appease the racial and religious bigoted Malays.
His Education Ministry is now considering teach Science and Mathematics in Bahasa Malaysia! What will happen to the students when they want to pursue tertiary education overseas?
Or when they graduate want to join international companies or conglomerates?
Malaysia’s strive for socio-economic economic and hi-tech technology excellence will continue to be derailed.
Mixing politics with education, race and religion is most certainly “academically and economically toxic” - just see where Singapore is in the global and financial standing today.
