Mr IGP! Don’t just talk! Act without fear or favour!

 No News Is Bad News

This is not deviant teaching? Why no action? No evidence?

Mr IGP! Don’t just talk! Act without fear or favour!

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19, 2023: Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain says 23 members of deviant groups have been arrested since 2022.

He said in a statement today that 51 police reports had been lodged over activities involving such deviant groups since 2022, with 23 leaders and followers of the groups arrested so far.

He added that police were currently monitoring seven deviant groups, namely Tarekat Habib Shah, Dewan Perkasa Ekonomi Islam Nusantara, Perjalanan Mimpi Yang Terakhir, Millah Abraham @ Ibrahim, Ajaran Suhaini or Si Hulk, Nur Mutiara Mutmainnah, and The Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light.

That’s well and good.

But look at the Aug 12 state elections campign posters and banners put up by the Taliban-like PAS and Perikatan Nasional (PN) led by the racist Muhyiddin “I Am Malay First” Yassin.

Voting for PN=PAS=Masuk Surga (Go to Heaven). This not deviant teaching? What more evidence do the police need to act?

No wonder the public perception of selective persecution or prosecution is extremely strong in Malaysia.

Also, there was a news report about a man who was jailed for six months for stealing 300 eggs. But others, with money and influence, get scot free after being charged with stealing hundreds of thousand of Ringgit, millions and even billions.

PETALING JAYA: Police are keeping a close eye on deviant religious groups in the country to ensure none of their followers threaten national security, says Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain.

In a statement, Razarudin said 51 police reports had been lodged over activities involving such deviant groups since 2022, with 23 leaders and followers of the groups arrested so far.

He added that police were currently monitoring seven deviant groups, namely Tarekat Habib Shah, Dewan Perkasa Ekonomi Islam Nusantara, Perjalanan Mimpi Yang Terakhir, Millah Abraham @ Ibrahim, Ajaran Suhaini or Si Hulk, Nur Mutiara Mutmainnah, and The Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light.

He said police were working with various government agencies and state Islamic religious departments to curb activities related to deviant teachings and wayward beliefs.

“Police view the spread of deviant teachings seriously as it can threaten national security and public peace,” he said.

He also said stern action would be taken under the Penal Code and the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 if the followers of deviant teachings caused public unrest.
