Teacher ‘locks’ 28 pupils in school library and went to eat pau

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14, 2023: Parents of 28 SJK (C) Chung Hwa 1 Year 1 pupils are worried sick about their children after a teacher “locked them up” in the school library in Butterworth, Penang,  yesterday.

According to parents who have discussed their plight and compiled a report, the school should stop the teacher from coming to school until the matter is thoroughly investigated for the safety of her students.

They are lodging an official complaint with the school principal.

The teacher was supposed to teach moral between 3.30pm and 4pm but she only entered the classroom at 3.45pm.

The teacher then took her pupils to the library, told them she was going to the toilet and left them there.

All the windows in the library were closed, the lights, fans and air-conditioner were not switched on.

The stuffiness caused some pupils to start breathing heavily, some students started crying and some even pissed on their pants.

When the time was up for another class, 17 of the smarter students left the library and returned to their classroom while 11 others remained in the library.

When the teacher returned (holding some mooncakes), a pupil asked her why she left them there to eat mooncakes.

She told the pupil that she went to eat pau!

The incident was brought to light when the class form teacher found some of her students missing for lessons and went searching for them

It is learnt that the school deputy head has met with her staff to discuss and investigate the incident, and are also awaiting for the headmistress to return on Monday to decide on the next course of action, if any.

Meanwhile, the parents told No News Is Bad News that the school authorities, state education officials and Education Ministry should not take the incident lightly.
