Enforced disappearance: Polis di-Raja Malaysia and Government shamed internationally
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 6, 2025: Enforced disappearance has now shamed Polis di-Raja Malaysia and the Government internationally.
The High Court here yesterday ruled that Pastor Raymond Koh was involved in the abduction of the preacher and hoped the case would be brought to a closure by the Government by bringing the culprits to face justice after a decade of injustice and inaction.
The High Court ordered the police and Government to pay Pastor Koh’s family more than RM37 million from the day of his abduction by police on on Feb 13, 2017, and RM10,000 daily until Pastor Koh is found.
That is not only a landmark court decision but it reflects the shameful severity of lawlessness by Polis di-Raja Malaysia.

Faces of killers/murderers.(Also remember, two policemen were also convicted for the cold-blooded murder of Mongolian French translator
Altantuya Shaariibuu on Oct 18, 2006, that is some 20 years ago, yet there is no closure as the real culprit/s who gave the “kill order” have yet to face justice.)
And, in Amri Che Mat’s case, the High Court also found the police and Government guilty of failing to carry out their statutory duty to properly investigate the missing person’s case.
The High Court ordered the police and Government to pay Amri’s family RM3 million in compensation.
Prof Dr James Chin is absolutely right in his Facebook posting (reproduced below):

This is a landmark court judgment—one that exemplifies true judicial courage, upholding the law without fear or favor, as it should always be.
Anwar Ibrahim, this saga has dragged on far too long. You speak eloquently of Islamic justice and the Madani vision. Now is the time to prove it. Direct the police, bring in outsiders if necessary, to bring this case to a swift and decisive close. We know who is responsible; all that remains is the political will to act to bring closure. A decade is long enough.
If you do this, I can assure you it will etch itself as one of your enduring political legacies. For Madani to represent a modern, civilized Malaysia, we cannot tolerate a deep state that kills or vanishes people at will.
I implore you: find it in your heart to act. The people of Malaysia stand with you.
Millions of Malaysia are watching what you and your home minister will do now!

So, what is Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution going to do about the gone rogued policemen?
Do nothing, don’t respond, ignore? Continue to support the rogued cops?

PUTRAJAYA: Home minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail says he will meet officers from the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) tomorrow for a full briefing on the cases involving the disappearances of activist Amri Che Mat and Pastor Raymond Koh.
“The purpose is to get a full briefing and a clear picture, as the court’s decision specifically directs the police to reopen investigations.
“As for how the case will be classified and investigated, that will be decided after I’ve been fully briefed,” he told reporters after attending the Jelajah Wira Madani 2025 programme at the Putrajaya police headquarters.
The Kuala Lumpur High Court had ordered the government and police to pay Koh’s family RM37 million over the state’s involvement in his abduction.
Justice Su Tiang Joo held that one or more of the defendants, who comprised both current and former police officers, had been involved in Koh’s abduction and acted under orders eight years ago.
Su also ordered the government and police to pay a sum of more than RM3 million to Amri’s family for their failure to conduct proper investigations into his disappearance.
Koh was abducted on Feb 13, 2017, while he was driving along Jalan SS4B/10 in Petaling Jaya. During the trial, the court heard that five masked men in black military outfits had pulled Koh out of his car.
Amri, the founder of the NGO Perlis Hope, left his home at about 11.30pm on Nov 24, 2016. His car was found at a construction site at the Bukit Cabang Sports School in Perlis early the next morning.
Saifuddin said the incidents occurred in 2016 and 2017, and were “inherited” by the current administration.
“So, it’s better for me to first get a complete briefing. I will update the media on any progress,” he said.

A former Suaram director has strongly condemned the government’s decision to appeal the Kuala Lumpur High Court’s landmark ruling in favour of the families of Pastor Raymond Koh and activist Amri Che Mat.
Kua Kia Soong did not mince his words, saying the move “is not only unconscionable – it is a betrayal of justice, compassion, and the very principles of the Madani (compassionate) government that claims to champion good governance and humanity.”… - mkini
