MIC digging its ‘political grave’ deeper and deeper

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 13, 2026: Like the corrupt, racial and religious bigoted Umno, MIC is showing that it is Umno’s loyal political lapdog.

MIC deputy president M. Saravanan declared that it supports Umno’s motion for a full pardon for the corrupt, disgraced and shameless former Umno president and prime minister Najib “1MDB” Razak.

Najib is currently serving his jail sentence/s in Kajang Prison, barring any attempt to have him “freed” on house arrest (also read as backdoor freedom, he will only be released when he is about 80 years old.

Has MIC leaders stuffed their brains in the wrong place?

Now you know why MIC has completely gone nuts. How can you support a pardon for the man responsible for Malaysia's biggest scam in history? How can you even contemplate this?

Shows you have totally lost your moral compass. Is it any wonder that Indians have forsaken the party? #Malaysia #Indian #NoHope

Its Deputy President, Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, said that a full pardon for Najib was considered a good proposal to free the former Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman.

MIC has expressed support for the motion on a full pardon for former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, to be brought in the UMNO General Assembly (PAU) 2025.

Its Deputy President, Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, said that a full pardon for Najib was considered a good proposal to free the former Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman.

According to him, the latest developments regarding the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) case, which had been previously decided by the court, were not in favour of Najib.

“Almost 100 divisions in PAU have decided on the matter. Maybe this is a good proposal, and MIC supports it,” he told reporters in Tapah as reported by Sinar Harian.

Umno secretary-general Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki had earlier said that the most frequently submitted motions from Umno divisions were calls for justice and a full pardon for Najib.

On another development, Saravanan stressed that MIC has so far remained with Barisan Nasional (BN) and any decisions regarding the party's direction will be made by the MIC Central Working Committee (CWC).

“After the Thaipusam celebrations, probably early or mid-February, a decision will be made,” he said.

According to him, BN adheres to the principle of consensus and any proposal, including moving forward on its own in the 16th General Election (GE16), must be agreed upon by all component parties.

On January 9, the media reported that the motion regarding the demand for a full pardon against Najib was the most received in conjunction with this assembly.

The Kuala Lumpur High Court on December 26 last year sentenced Najib to 15 years in prison and a fine of RM11.4 billion after he was found guilty of 25 counts of money laundering and abusing his position to obtain bribes totalling RM2.3 billion involving 1MDB funds. – January 10, 2026
