A very sad day indeed for multi-racial Malaysians … Sabahans still support the corrupt, racial and religious bigoted Umno
Sabahans far behind Sarawakians’ Sarawak For Sarawakians
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 25, 2026: It was indeed a sad day for multi-racial Malaysians and Malaysia yesterday.
The corrupt, racial and religious bigoted Umno won both the Kinabatangan and Lamag state seats with bigger majorities in the twin by-elections.
The Sabahans in both seats have let down multi-racial Malaysians by supporting the racists, and they have also shown that they are far behind the Sarawakians’ political battle cry Sarawak For Sarawakians.
Sabah For Sabahans is just an empty slogan with the Umno-led Barisan Nasional (BN) electoral victories.
The Shafie Apdal-led Warisan has much work to do in the run-up to the next general election (GE16) to convince Sabahans that Umno cannot be trusted to continue to lead Malaysians after more than six decades since Merdeka (Independence) 1957.

PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional retained the Lamag state seat and Kinabatangan parliamentary seat with bigger majorities tonight.
BN’s Lamag candidate, Ismail Ayob, won the by-election with a 5,681-vote majority in a straight fight against Warisan’s Mazliwati Abdul Malek.
Ismail secured 7,269 votes against 1,588 garnered by Mazliwati, Bernama reported.
BN’s Kinabatangan candidate, Naim Kurniawan Moktar – son of the late Bung Mokhtar Radin – retained the seat with a 14,214-vote majority in a three-cornered contest.
Naim secured 19,852 votes, while Warisan’s Saddi Abdul Rahman received 5,638 votes, and independent Goldam Hamid 946 votes.
The results were announced by returning officer Eddy Syaizul Rizam Abdullah.
The by-elections were triggered by Bung’s death in early December.
Bung had previously defended the Lamag seat at the Sabah state election in November with a majority of 153 votes.
He had previously won the seat in the 2020 state polls in a five-cornered contest, with a 661-vote majority.
In the last general election, he also retained the Kinabatangan parliamentary seat with a 4,330-vote majority in a straight fight against Mazliwati.
