Has PAS apologised?

 No News Is Bad News

Has PAS apologised?

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4, 2023: It sure looks like the Taliban-like PAS leadership cannot even agree on their coalition (Perikan Nasional - PN)’s unity.

Its deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said PAS had nothing to explain on the party “kicking” Gerakan president Dominic Lau out of a PAS ceramah in Penang’s Sungai Dua.

But its secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said Lau should have been accepted and treated as a guest, in accordance with Islamic principles.

“PAS expresses great discomfort over the incident and, therefore, apologises to Lau, who was perceived as unwelcome at the event in Tasek Gelugor, Penang, which was also attended by PAS president (Abdul Hadi Awang),” he said in a statement this morning.

So, has PAS sincerely apologised to Lau and Gerakan or not?

Your guess is as good as anyone’s guess!

A party of leaders who do not respect Malay Supremacy in the Sultans and the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King).  Can Malays and Malaysians trust them to govern?

Can Malaysians trust such a party which is the dominant force in PN, led by Muhyiddin “I Am Malay First” Yassin who clearly does not see Malaysian First as disloyal to the rakyat dan negara (people and country)?

No News Is Bad News reproduces below the conflicting statements issued by the PAS leaders:

Nothing to explain, PAS tells Gerakan No 2 over ceramah incident

PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man says Oh Tong Keong should get the details from party president Dominic Lau.

Dineskumar Ragu - 04 Aug 2023, 8:06am

Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said Gerakan president Dominic Lau had denied being ‘chased away’ from a PAS ceramah.

KEPALA BATAS: PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has snubbed calls by his Gerakan counterpart for an explanation for barring party president Dominic Lau from attending a ceramah held by PAS recently.

Tuan Ibrahim said there was nothing for PAS to explain as Lau had denied being chased away from the event after turning up uninvited.

He also said that Lau himself admitted that he was there to meet PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.

Tuan Ibrahim said Gerakan deputy president Oh Tong Keong should obtain the details of what had transpired directly from Lau.

‘He (Lau) has issued a statement. Therefore, we don’t have to provide an explanation.

“And he (Oh) should listen to his president,” Tuan Ibrahim told FMT after a ceramah here last night..

Yesterday, when demanding an explanation from PAS, Oh accused the party of disrespecting Lau who he pointed out was a Perikatan Nasional deputy chairman and the Penang PN chief.

He said Lau should have been treated as a guest by PAS.

Oh’s comments came in the wake of a video by Malaysiakini showing Lau being prevented by a Penang PAS leader from following the party’s vice-president, Idris Ahmad, on stage.

When some protested, the PAS leader could be heard telling Lau: “Tak boleh (No, you can’t). You go away.”

On Wednesday, Lau denied that he had been asked to leave the ceramah in Sungai Dua.

He said he had gone there to meet Hadi as the PAS president had asked him to meet him at 9pm. However, Hadi only arrived at 10.30pm and Lau had to leave for another meeting.

PAS apologises to Lau over ceramah incident

PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan says Gerakan president Dominic Lau should have been accepted and treated as a guest, in accordance with Islamic principles.

FMT Reporters - 04 Aug 2023, 8:45am

PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said the decision to field Gerakan president Dominic Lau in Bayan Lepas was done with the agreement of the party’s top leadership.

PETALING JAYA: PAS has apologised to Gerakan president Dominic Lau over an incident where he was reportedly told to leave a Perikatan Nasional ceramah in Sungai Dua, Penang, on Tuesday after showing up without being invited.

PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said Lau should have been accepted and treated as a guest, in accordance with Islamic principles.

“PAS expresses great discomfort over the incident and, therefore, apologises to Lau, who was perceived as unwelcome at the event in Tasek Gelugor, Penang, which was also attended by PAS president (Abdul Hadi Awang),” he said in a statement this morning.

Yesterday, Gerakan deputy president Oh Tong Keong urged PAS to explain why Lau was barred from attending the event.

Oh said PAS had disrespected Lau, who he pointed out was a PN deputy chairman and Penang PN chief.

On Wednesday, however, Lau denied being told to leave the ceramah. He said he was supposed to meet Hadi at 9pm at the event, but the PAS president ran late and Lau had to leave for a meeting.

Takiyuddin also said that PAS, like other parties, was well aware of the complexities involved in coalition politics, especially in relation to seat distribution or candidate selection.

“In the context of Lau’s selection as PN’s candidate for the Bayan Lepas seat, which is a Malay-majority constituency, PAS is fully aware of the sentiments of its members and supporters following his nomination,” he said.

He said the decision to field Lau was done with the agreement of the party’s top leadership after due process and all conditions being fulfilled.

“PAS members and supporters must, therefore, embrace the decision with an open mind and place trust in the wisdom of the party’s leaders, led by Hadi himself,” he said.

Previously, a group of PAS grassroots members protested against Lau’s candidacy in Bayan Lepas, saying a PAS member should be fielded instead to contest the Malay-majority seat.

The  above is also true for the Taliban-like PAS.

Penangites, please ensure the shameless Gerakan president loses his deposit

After being an Umno bootlicker and lapdog for six decades, Gerakan has changed its “taste” to the Taliban-like PAS

Penangites, please ensure the shameless Gerakan president loses his deposit

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4, 2023: The shameless and worst-ever Gerakan president Dominic Lau was kicked out from a PAS ceramah in Sungai Dua in Penang.

Yet, he and his bootlickers pretend that nothing happened.

Does Gerakan and Lau look like they can keep a check on the Taliban-like PAS to protect the democratic rights of Malaysians, in particular Penangites?

The answer is crystal clear and law-abiding peace-loving Malaysians must reject all the PAS-controlled Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidates.

POOR GERAKAN – MOUSY, COWARDLY & POWERLESS AS EVER – DESPITE GETTING A ‘GET OUT’ FROM PAS, DOMINIC LAU & CO PRETEND ‘DON’T KNOW’ – ‘WE ARE NOT FIGHTING. GERAKAN HAS NO ISSUE WITH PENANG PAS’

Gerakan should withdraw from polls to protest PAS extremism, says Chow

Penang PH chief Chow Kon Yeow says the PN component party should not wait to act until after the state election.

Penang Pakatan Harapan chief Chow Kon Yeow said Gerakan will not be able to ‘balance out’ PAS in Perikatan Nasional.

PETALING JAYA: Penang Pakatan Harapan chief Chow Kon Yeow says Gerakan should withdraw from the Aug 12 state election if it has any self-respect.

“Gerakan should withdraw to protest against PAS’ extremism,” Oriental Daily quoted Chow as saying at a PH event yesterday.

On Tuesday, Gerakan president Dominic Lau was reportedly refused entry to a Perikatan Nasional ceramah by PAS representatives in Sungai Dua, Penang.

Lau has since tried to play down the snub, saying he was there to meet PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang but left when Hadi was delayed.

However, it sparked a backlash online and called PN’s multiculturalism overtures into question.

Gerakan deputy president Oh Tong Keong said all its assemblymen will step down if Penang PN wins the state polls and starts practising extremism.

However, Chow said Gerakan should not wait.

“They should protest, protest right now,” he said, adding that PAS will continue to play up the 3R (race, religion and royalty) issue to appeal to Malay voters.

“Poor Gerakan, it thinks it can balance out PAS in PN. In reality, it’s useless to try.”

Hadi had previously promised non-Malays, especially those in Penang, the Islamic party will not marginalise them if it wins in the Aug 12 state election.

He said DAP and PH have created a tense atmosphere for the election, which is why voters should head to the polls to initiate a “huge” change.

DAP MP Syerleena Abdul Rashid said PAS’ inclusivity claim raised “serious concerns about the party’s political stance and credibility”, following the incident with Lau.

“Despite presenting itself as an inclusive party willing to work in a coalition, its recent actions reveal a significant discrepancy between stated values and actual practices,” the Bukit Bendera MP told FMT.  FMT

Lau reportedly asked to leave PN ceramah in Penang

The Gerakan president had reportedly showed up without being invited to the event.

PETALING JAYA: Gerakan president Dominic Lau was reportedly asked to leave a Perikatan Nasional ceramah in Sungai Dua last night after showing up without being invited.

According to Sin Chew, Gerakan deputy president Oh Tong Keong confirmed that the party was not invited to attend the ceramah, which was also attended by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.

“As far as I know, this event, which was hosted in a Malay-majority area, was only intended for PAS leaders and members. Their target audience was probably the Malays,” he said.

Oh said Gerakan and PAS had an amicable relationship but the incident had led to grouses from the party’s grassroots.

“But we are not fighting. Gerakan has no issue with Penang PAS, its chairman, its secretary-general or its other leaders.

“In politics, it is normal for party members to voice their dissatisfaction (from time to time),” Oh said.

Lau is PN’s candidate for the Bayan Lepas seat in Penang.

Previously, a group of PAS grassroots members protested against Lau’s candidacy in Bayan Lepas, saying a PAS member should be fielded instead to contest the Malay-majority seat.

Subsequently, PN announced that its presidential council had decided that Lau would be fielded in Bayan Lepas.

Lau has dismissed claims that PAS grassroots were not supporting him, saying some local leaders came to show their support for him on nomination day.  FMT

Saudi Arabia deems Hadi a terrorist?

Saudi Arabia deems Hadi a terrorist?

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1, 2023: The above Saudi Arabia ban on PAS president Hadi Awang is now in circulation in social media.

Is it authentic?

Police and the Home Ministry need to clarify this alleged ban by Saudi Arabia to peace-loving Malaysians as it is a public security matter that affects nat6ional unity and harmony.

A Google search found two Free Malaysia Today reports on the matter in March 2021 when Hadi was the then prime minister Muhyiddin “I Am Malay First” special envoy to the Middle East.

If the ban is authentic, why have the police and Home Ministry did nothing for more than two years as Hadi was allegedly  banned permanently to Saudi Arabia due to terrorism ideology.

Are the police and Home Ministry encouraging terrorism ideology in Malaysia?

Saudis accuse ulama body linked to PAS chief of terrorism

IUMS is the latest to be added on the so-called ‘terror list’.

FMT Reporters -

KUALA LUMPUR: Saudi Arabia and its three Gulf allies today extended their so-called “terror list”, naming an international organisation of Muslim scholars whose leaders include PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.

The Saudi-led quartet comprising Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain, which recently joined forces in its diplomatic onslaught aganst Qatar, has added the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) on its list of organisations and individuals they accuse of supporting terrorism.

In a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency, they said IUMS was “working to promote terrorism through the exploitation of Islamic discourse”.

IUMS is one of two new entities and 11 individuals that have been added to the list. The other is the International Islamic Council “Massaa”, and 11 individuals.

“The two listed entities are terrorist organisations working to promote terrorism through the exploitation of Islamic discourse and its use as a cover to facilitate various terrorist activities,” the statement said.

The Qatar-based IUMS was formed in 2004 and is headed by the influential Muslim scholar Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who has also been named by the Saudis for links to terrorism.

IUMS members include Saudi cleric Salman al-Awdah, who was arrested by Saudi authorities in September, Tunisian moderate Islamist leader Rached Ghannouchi, and Moroccan scholar Ahmed Raissouni.

The quartet again accused Qatar of aiding terrorism, saying the individuals had “carried out various terrorist operations in which they have received direct Qatari support at various levels, including providing them with passports and assigning them to Qatari institutions with a charitable appearance to facilitate their movement”.

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE and Bahrain severed ties with Doha on June 4, accusing it of supporting terrorism, in what is a move to punish the oil rich sheikhdom for its friendly approach to Iran, Riyadh’s arch-enemy in the Middle East

Hadi this week lashed out at Sunni-Shia sectarianism, saying he would choose Qatar, Turkey and Iran over other Arab powers in the Middle East.

“I return to the Quran although the ruler who is the servant of the Two Holy Cities has forged intimate ties with Israel and the United States, because my faith is not with the Kaabah but with Allah,” Hadi said in an article published by PAS mouthpiece Harakahdaily on Tuesday, referring to Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Abdul Aziz.

Hadi had in the past attracted criticism by some quarters for attending a conference in Iran. Qaradawi, then a critic of Iran, had distanced his organisation from the visit.

IUMS comprises of tens of thousands of Muslim scholars worldwide, and has worked towards reconciliation between Shia and Sunni Muslims.

Shia Muslims are frequently attacked by Saudi ulama, who follow a strand of conservative Islam promoted by 18th-century scholar Muhammad Abdul Wahhab.

Hadi’s absence in Muhyiddin’s team to UAE, Saudi raises questions

Khalid Samad says government must clarify if his membership in an international Islamic group was the reason.

K. Parkaran - 19 Mar 2021, 7:30am

PETALING JAYA: The conspicuous absence of the prime minister’s special envoy to the Middle East, Abdul Hadi Awang during his official visit to the UAE and Saudi Arabia recently has raised some questions.

Some are wondering how such a key official for the region with a ministerial status was left out of the entourage when he should have been at the forefront of Muhyiddin Yassin’s week-long visit.

Amanah communications director, Khalid Samad said social media has been abuzz on this matter with various theories being bandied about which was not healthy for Malaysia’s relationship with the countries in the region.

He said one of the speculations is that the UAE declined to give him a visa on the grounds that he is a member of an Islamic organisation which is still listed as a terrorist outfit by some countries in the region.

“It is not fair to make wild accusations but the government should not ignore the questions raised either. It is important for the Prime Minister’s Office to clarify this and put a stop to the unhealthy debate in social media.

“If indeed a visa has been denied on this ground, the government must come clean and tell Malaysians the truth,” he told FMT.

The Shah Alam MP said that if Hadi is not allowed to enter certain countries there, then it defeats the whole purpose of appointing him as the special envoy for the region.

It has been reported that Hadi was the vice-president of the Qatar-based International Union of Muslim Scholars, which had been declared a terror group by the Anti-Terror Quarter of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

The reports described the entity as an organisation working to promote terrorism through the exploitation of Islamic discourse and its use as a cover to facilitate various terrorist activities.

Pui! Pui! Pui! to Hadi Awang

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 2, 2023: No News Is Bad News reproduces below a Facebook posting that is self-explanatory about the Taliban-like PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.

It is well said by a Malaysian, need we say more?

Francis T RozarioFrankly Speaking

  ·

OH YEAH HADI AWANG, YOU SURE????

pui.........

AREN'T YOUT THE SAME HADI AWANG WHO IN LEAGUE WITH MAHATHIR MOHAMMED, IS NOW PROPOGATING THAT THE NON MUSLIMS SHOULD HAVE NO SAY IN GOVERNMENT OF OUR COUNTRY?

AND NOW YOU ARE TELLING THE SAME MALAYSINS THAT IF YOU COME TO POWER WE'LL NOT BE MARGIALISED?
AM I RIGHT HADI? OF COURSE I AM, AND I TOGETHER WITH OTHER MALAYSIANS ARE NOT FOOLS LIKE YOU - IDIOT.

Well Hadi, and what you are not saying is that all non Malay Muslim ladies will have to walk in "body bags" if they want to get into government offices including the postals - they'll not be marginalised only some freedom of choice of dressing will be curtailed.

No shorts even during the hottest days, and soon after that they will have to cover up their heads too and in a matter of time we will be more conservative than Saudi Arabia. Iran, Turkey, the Emirates Egypt , we will be heading the Taliban way, the other Arabstates are now modernising. Well we'll not be marginalised only that we have to become a bit Arabic or should I say Talibanised.

If that is not bad enough men too can't wear shorts isn't that what is happening in the states you control? Well that is slight control, skull caps next.

Well Pubs will close, taxes on beer and other alcoholic bevarages which we are so accustomed to will be taxed no end till we can't afford to drink it, all entertainment outlets you deem unholy will be closed down, the discos will have to shut down regardless that this curtailment of entertainment will cause a spike in drug addiction, that is a minor sin to you and your party. Isn't that what is happening in the sates you control. But there will be no marginalisation only promotion of drug addiction.

That is only the tip of the iceberg. "Empat ekor," outlets will have to shut down so will Genting, there will be no places for fun in Malaysia even beaches will be divided men's section women's section and tourists will flock into this country as never before - you hope, you will be the only one.

Consider why Arabs love Thailand, why they prefer to Bali to many Malaysian resorts.

Sabah has much better beaches than Bali, clear waters, much clearer then Bali, it has natural rainforests hinterland, but alas for people who think 20 percent like how you think this does not materialise although it is much better than Bali.

Although a Muslim majority Island Lombok in Indonesia caters for its tourists and locals too, there are many Bars in Lombok, many entertainment outlets there and it is fast overtaking Bali as a tourist favourite.

Ladies will not be allowed to work 3 shifts under your watch, foreign industries will disappear and will be non-existent in the other states as is the case in Kelantan and Trengganu.

OH HADI AWANG TRY YOUR BULL ELSEWHERE WE ARE TOO SMART TO FALL FOR YOUR SWEET TALK.

AREN'T YOU THE MAN WHO WANT'S A COMPLETE MALAY MUSLIM GOVERNMENT?

And you have the gall to say, "non Muslims will not be marginalised" just for your information we already are and you are going to make it 100 times worse.

Pui..

Non-Malays won’t be marginalised if PAS wins, says Hadi

PETALING JAYA: PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has promised non-Malays, especially those in Penang, the Islamic party will not marginalise them if it wins in the Aug 12 state elections.

“Non-Malays, don’t be afraid. Don’t worry, Islam promotes justice and fairness. Malays are great people.

“In Kelantan (and) Terengganu, Chinese and Indians live happily in the Malay villages,” China Press quoted Hadi as saying at a Perikatan Nasional ceramah in Penang last night.

He said DAP and Pakatan Harapan have created a tense atmosphere for the elections, which is why voters should head to the polls to initiate a “huge” change.

Hadi said voting was a right and urged people not to stop voting “or else someone else will take that right away”.

He said he was happy to see a lot of young people making “changes” and choosing to support PAS and PN.

PN is contesting all 40 seats in Penang, with 19 going to Gerakan, 11 to Bersatu and 10 to PAS.

At the dissolution of the state assembly last month, DAP held 19 seats, PKR 12, and Amanah two. PH’s partner in the unity government, Barisan Nasional, had two seats.

Bersatu had four seats, but their assemblymen were disqualified for breaching the state’s anti-hopping law.

PAS held the remaining seat, which it won after it was revealed that a PH candidate was bankrupt and was thus disqualified from contesting.
