Israel ‘exporting terrorism’ to Malaysia and elsewhere?

Israel ‘exporting terrorism’ to Malaysia and elsewhere?

KUALA LUMPUR, April 28, 2025: News reports have emerged that Israel is offering each Palestinian US$5,000, a job and a monthly salary to permanently leave Gaza to Malaysia and elsewhere.

If the report is true, then Israel has entered its “second phase” of the war in Gaza.

Israel is “exporting terrorism” by relocating the Hamas-terrorist-loving Palestinians to countries that support Palestinians.

Look at what is happening in Canada, Italy, the UK, to name a few.

In Canada, the Muslim migrants are now demanding Canadian laws to be replaced by the Sharia laws!

In Italy, on Oct 8, 2024, pro-Hamas Imam Zulfiqar Khan, 54, was deported after he called on Muslims to demolish non-Muslims.

Zulfiqar, an imam based in Bologna. Khan, a Pakistani citizen who entered Italy in 1995, had his residence permit revoked at the same time as his expulsion.

In the UK, Muslims are also demanding for Sharia laws.

For starters, isn’t Sharia laws for Muslims only?

The developments only show that the Muslim fanatics, especially Palestinians, are ungrateful humans who would lose no sleep to turn against the countries that accept them on humanitarian grounds.

There is nothing humanitarian about the terrorist-loving Palestinians.

And, why is it that the majority of Arab (Muslim) nations are not accepting their Palestinian brothers and sisters?

If the news report is true, the Israelis are really super intelligent - “exporting terrorism” to countries that oppose Israel’s stand on the war in Gaza.

Israel Is Offering Palestinian $5,000, A Job, Housing & A Monthly Salary To Permanently Leave Gaza To Malaysia

28 April, 2025

Israel is reportedly offering Palestinians in Gaza $5,000, a job, housing, and a monthly salary to permanently leave Gaza for countries like France, Greece, or Malaysia.

In return, they must give up their Palestinian ID, surrender their land, and forfeit any right of return.

Netanyahu failed in all his objectives. This is now a very desperate measure to ethnically cleanse Gaza.

While the IDF said it was unaware of messages sent to Gazans encouraging them to leave the Gaza Strip, Hamas said the messages are part of an Israeli campaign to ‘destabilize the standing of the Palestinian people and undermine its national resolve’

Gazans have recently begun receiving text messages offering to “consider opportunities to leave the Gaza Strip.” One of these messages offered Palestinians in Nuseirat, a refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, to “schedule a meeting” at the Netzarim Corridor, south of Gaza City, on Tuesday between 9 A.M. and 2 P.M. local time.

Residents wishing to evacuate would need to arrive at the area, controlled by the Israel Defense Forces, and remain in contact with “Captain Jalal” on WhatsApp. The IDF said it was unaware of messages sent to Gazans, and the Shin Bet security service has yet to respond to a Haaretz inquiry on the matter.

Hamas said the messages are part of an Israeli campaign spreading rumors on emigration to “destabilize the standing of the Palestinian people and undermine their national resolve.”

Accusing those running the campaign of using fake documents and giving false promises, Hamas called on the public not to cooperate with the messages and to beware of the phone numbers attached to them, as those may be used for recruitment as intelligence assets.

“Emigration from an occupied land is not a viable solution but rather a trap wrapped in false promises,” Hamas said. “Palestine is not for sale and our people will not be uprooted.”

Haaretz has obtained a message that a Gaza resident distributed to several friends and acquaintances in recent days, stating that he and his family will be evacuated from the Gaza Strip to France as part of a French government program to support scientists and artists.

The man said that the evacuation was due to happen this week and that it would be under French supervision. He added that another group of scientists will also be evacuated along with their families.

The French plan for scientists and artists from conflict zones enables their hiring by French institutions of higher education, research or culture. “We are thankful for this precious opportunity that allows us to pursue our scientific work in a safe and stable environment,” wrote the Gazan.

“We hope to contribute from our knowledge to the local French community, but also to return in the future and help rebuild Palestine and the Gaza Strip.”

Sources in Gaza say that while some Gazans have been announcing their departure from the Strip, their number is in the low thousands and does not mark a large wave of emigration.

In early April, a senior diplomatic source told correspondents accompanying Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s delegation to Hungary that Israel was in talks with more than one country about accepting Palestinians from Gaza.

The source said Israel was “very serious” about implementing U.S. President Donald Trump’s population transfer plan for Gazans, adding that several countries were willing to accept the refugees as part of a quid pro quo.

“They want something in return,” the source said. “Not necessarily money, but strategic things as well.”

The U.S. and Israel have approached Sudan, Somalia, and Somaliland to discuss transferring Gaza’s population to their territory, reports said in March.

Netanyahu released a recorded video on Saturday explaining why Hamas’ conditions for a hostage deal were unacceptable: If Israel ends the war and withdraws from Gaza, as Hamas demands, “President Trump’s plan would be unattainable.”

According to Netanyahu, Trump’s population transfer plan is one that “would change Gaza once and for all and will ensure the security of our nation.”

Malaysia to accept 15 released Palestinian security prisoners

Malaysia says it will accept 15 Palestinians who were released from Israeli jails and exiled as part of the January ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan says in remarks published today in The Star newspaper that the move was a small contribution from Malaysia, a staunch supporter of the Palestinian cause, to ensure peace in Gaza.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil tells local media that security agencies would strictly monitor the Palestinians’ movement once they arrive.

Many of those released were serving life sentences for terror attacks, including orchestrating suicide bombings.

Israel freed thousands of Palestinian in return for several hostages held by terror groups in Gaza, but insisted that some of the worst offenders be exiled outside of the West Bank or Gaza Strip.

Meloni's Italy expels pro-Hamas Imam Zulfiqar Khan

Story by TOI World Desk

Meloni's Italy expels pro-Hamas Imam Zulfiqar Khan

On October 8th, 2024, Italy signed the decree for the deportation of Zulfiqar Khan, a 54-year-old imam based in Bologna. Khan, a Pakistani citizen who entered Italy in 1995, had his residence permit revoked at the same time as his expulsion.

The administrative decree highlighted that since autumn 2023, Khan's behaviour had increasingly exhibited ideological fanaticism and a shift towards radical positions. His rhetoric was noted to have included strong anti-Western, antisemitic, homophobic, and anti-feminist sentiments. During one of his sermons, Khan reportedly encouraged Muslim believers to resist the State’s imposition of taxes, arguing that the resources should remain within the Muslim community. He also referred to homosexuality as a disease that needed to be cured and something Muslims had a right to fight in order to prevent what he believed could be catastrophic consequences, such as the extinction of the human race.

Khan’s social media activity, between November 2023 and April 2024, was said to have included videos in which he accused Americans, Germans, French, English, and Italians of supporting impure Zionists. He also invoked Allah to destroy the oppressors, particularly Western states that support Israel. Italian authorities also linked Khan to foreigners who were involved in Islamist extremist groups and suggested he could facilitate the infiltration of political-religious and paramilitary organisations in the Bologna area.

In May 2024, Khan allegedly made statements from the pulpit of a mosque praising Hamas and criticising Israel. He expressed admiration for Hamas, claiming they had demonstrated Israel's inability to confront men and could only target children, women, and civilians. He also voiced his belief that Hamas was not a terrorist organisation but was defending its territory. He thanked Allah for revealing what he referred to as the truth about Israelis and Americans, labelling them as terrorists and murderers. Khan later stated that groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, Iran, and Yemen did not seek to harm civilians, and he invoked divine punishment on the Western states.

Khan's antisemitic comments were also documented. In May 2021, during a public speech in Bologna's main square, he cited the Gospel of John, claiming that part of the Jewish population was cruel and used intelligence to harm others. In May 2024, Khan publicly questioned the legitimacy of antisemitism, suggesting that the term was fabricated in the late 18th century. He also denied that Zionists were Semites and criticised efforts to introduce DNA testing for individuals living in Israel.

Khan’s views were further publicised during an appearance on the Italian TV show Dritto e Rovescio in November 2023, where he described Israelites as terrorists and deceivers, referencing the Bible to support his claims. In July 2024, videos were posted on the Iqraa Islamic Center's Facebook page in which Khan attacked Italian-Egyptian journalist Magdi Cristiano Allam, who had converted from Islam to Christianity. Allam, who had been living under police protection due to threats from Islamist extremists, was criticised by Khan in these videos.

On several occasions, Khan challenged Italian government officials, asserting that the Italian Constitution provided him with the protection to say what he wished. He also claimed that the Quran guided his words, while the Constitution acted as an umbrella for his speech.

However, the Italian authorities took a firm stance with Khan’s deportation and the decision not to authorise pro-Palestinian demonstrations celebrating the October 7th massacre. This demonstrated that the country would not tolerate pro-Palestinian terrorism or extremism. While freedom of expression is protected, it was made clear that hate speech and support for terrorism would not be allowed. Minister Piantedosi's decision to sign the deportation order on the anniversary of the October 7th massacre was seen as particularly significant.

Khan's expulsion followed the sanctioning of another imam in Italy, Mohammad Hannoun, by the US Treasury Department. Hannoun, a Genoa-based Palestinian architect, was identified as a Hamas member involved in raising funds for the group. On the evening of October 8th, prosecutor Nicola Piacente suggested that a new investigation into Hannoun could be opened by the Genoa Public Prosecutor’s Office if relevant documentation from the United States became available.

Islamic group calling for Shariah law cancels Canadian event after U.K. declares it a terrorist entity

The group’s statements are seen as starkly antisemitic, hawkish on eradicating Israel, and supporting elements of militant jihadi violence

The day after an Islamic organization was declared a terrorist group in Britain, the group’s Canadian branch cancelled a conference it was hosting this weekend that was calling for the resurrection of the Muslim caliphate and the imposition of Shariah law.

Hizb ut Tahrir Canada was convening its conference on Saturday in Mississauga, just outside Toronto, called the Khilafah Conference 2024. Khilafah is the Arabic word for caliphate, referring to a Muslim community governed under Islamic law.

The conference materials — posters, a website, and a polished promotional video — said the group urges the rejection of a Jewish state and the involvement of the United Nations, international law, or other “compromises” in the Middle East, instead encouraging military forces in the Muslim world to defeat “occupiers” in the region.

Hizb ut Tahrir Canada’s conference materials, along with its entire online presence — a website active since 2012, a YouTube channel, Facebook, Instagram, and X accounts — has now been deleted or deactivated, apparently internally.

A former leader with the Hizb ut-Tahrir, who now works in extremist deradicalization, said the British declaration has spooked the group’s Canadian supporters.

“Until they can provide the right guidelines for the organization’s English-language speaking areas they will avoid, as much as possible, their membership and activists making statements in the public arena,” said Rashad Ali, a resident senior fellow at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, a counter-extremism think tank based in London, England.

“Unless they can control what their membership is saying in English, then they can’t be sure that they aren’t going to say something they will regret.”

The members will also fear that Canada might follow Britain’s lead, Ali said.

“Australia and Canada tend to, in counter-terrorism matters, follow where Britain goes. It will be quite likely that if the ban and proscription in Britain is upheld by the British courts, they will apply the same thing in Australia and Canada.”

Before it was cancelled, the conference was causing concern over the group’s statements, seen as starkly antisemitic, hawkish on eradicating Israel, and supporting elements of militant jihadi violence.

“As a listed terrorist entity in the United Kingdom, the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization should not be given an opportunity to promote and indoctrinate Canadians with their extreme and radical viewpoints through their Khilafah Conference,” said Shimon Koffler Fogel, president of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, a Canadian Jewish advocacy organization.

“If it had not been pre-emptively cancelled, we would have expected the authorities to step in to identify it as a potential security risk and prevent the conference from moving forward.”

When introducing Britain’s proscription order against Hizb ut-Tahrir under the Terrorism Act, U.K.’s Home Secretary James Cleverly said: “Hizb ut-Tahrir is an antisemitic organization that actively promotes and encourages terrorism, including praising and celebrating the appalling 7 October attacks.

“Proscribing this terrorist group will ensure that anyone who belongs to and invites support for them will face consequences. It will curb Hizb ut-Tahrir’s ability to operate as it currently does.”

The terrorist designation went into effect on Jan. 19.

Registered attendees for the Khilafah Conference in Canada were notified the event was cancelled on Jan. 20, with a note saying: “It is with a heavy heart that Hizb ut Tahrir Canada has decided to cancel the Khilafah Conference 2024 because of unforeseen circumstances.”

The notification apologized for the inconvenience but offered no explanation. Tickets for the event were formally cancelled Monday, with instructions on obtaining a refund. Ticket holders had not yet been told where in Mississauga the conference was being held.

Conference organizers did not respond to requests for information and comment by National Post prior to deadline.

The theme for the conference was “Khilafah: Eliminating the obstacles that are delaying its return.” Its materials refer to Israel only as “the Zionist Entity.”

There were four keynote speakers advertised: Muhammad Malkawi, Mazin Abdul-Adhim, Bilal Khan, and Malik Abu Luqman.

Malkawi was considered the headliner.

In a speech last month, he was quoted as saying that if Muslims came together “you don’t even need to fight for Palestine because there will not be a Jewish state there.” His online accounts say he is based in Jordan, where Hizb ut-Tahrir’s central headquarters are located.

“He is very well known, very public, a popular speaker within the party and has been active for decades,” Ali said.

Malkawi did not respond to a request for comment prior to deadline.

Mazin Abdul-Adhim is based in Canada, in London, Ont., and is active on social media. He describes himself as a Hizb ut Tahrir member on X, where his avatar is the logo for the cancelled conference.

He did not respond to a request for comment. On social media he reacted to Britain’s ban of the group, saying: “by banning HT, they make us a much stronger force, impenetrable and absolutely bulletproof from their false allegations and lies.”

A conference with a similar title is scheduled to be held in Chicago in March, organized by Hizb ut-Tahrir America.

Hizb ut-Tahrir, Arabic for “Party of Liberation,” was founded in 1953 by a cleric as a revolutionary party, meant as a springboard to power in countries with large Muslim populations to spur their unification to restore the medieval Muslim empire, said Ali. (The Canadian branch does not use the more common hyphenated version of the party’s name.)

Although it calls itself a political party, it is not a democratic institution.

“The Hizb ut-Tahrir rejects democracy, it rejects participating in governance with other parties, it rejects the electoral process as a method of gaining power — the only way is by the overthrow of government by revolution,” said Ali.

He said Hizb ut-Tahrir is perhaps unique in the Islamist extremist space, and quite different from groups like ISIS or Al-Qaeda.

A good education can help change lives, but some children face huge barriers.

KUALA LUMPUR, April 28, 2025: Johor has apparently lost confidence in the federal government’s education system and has sought help from Singapore (View above video clips).

Thousands of Malaysian students, especially in Johor, skipped their STPM Examination to work in Singapore.

The brain drain in Johor and lost of quality human capital is acute, to say the least.

The problem should not be surprising or shocking to Malaysians because Malaysia’s education standards have dipped to the pits due to a racist education policy system governed by racial and religious bigots for decades.

The current useless Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek has no inkling on the priorities of good and wholesome education.

She has, till today, refused to take any action against those educators who promoted violence and use of firearms in schools.

 A “gun-toting” teacher in a school classroom.

And last week, even the Education Ministry (also read as the federal government) staff and officials failed to recognise the correct design of the Jalur Gemilang (national flag).

In short, kangkung lecturers and universities are producing kangkung graduates who are unemployable.

And the Government is bragging about having 14,000 straight-A students but “fading interest in science stream”.

So, Malaysia is producing low-quality students and human capital.

PETALING JAYA: Health minister Dzulkefly Ahmad says he is concerned about the declining interest in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics stream and its impact on the supply of medical students.

Dzulkefly today said that despite more than 14,000 students securing straight A’s at the 2024 SPM examination, there has been a noticeable decline in interest in the science stream.

“This is a cause for concern as medical majors are from the science stream,” he said according to Bernama.

“I hope that we can reignite interest among these 14,000 students. This is crucial to ensure that the health ministry’s human resource challenges are effectively addressed,” he said in Kota Bharu.

He also urged the education ministry and the science, technology and innovation ministry to motivate and encourage students to choose the science stream.

Education ministry statistics for 2021 show a huge gap in the number of schoolchildren pursuing humanities and those pursuing technical subjects.

A total of 42,257 students were enrolled in Upper Form 6 humanities classes in 2019, compared with 4,877 in the science stream. The number of science students dropped in 2020 to 3,853.

Ban the bigots from entering Singapore!

KUALA LUMPUR, April 27, 2025: It is time for Singapore to take the threat of racial and religious bigots from Malaysia seriously before it is too late.

Such bigots all over the world only threaten domestic and international unity and harmony.

Singapore, as a sovereign state, should compile a blacklist of all such bigots and bigoted political parties and ban them from entering Singapore.

They include all Taliban-like PAS politicians and the racial and religious bigoted Dr Akmal Saleh’s Umno.

Should any such bigots manage to slip into the island republic to propagate their racial and religious bigotry, jail them without hesitation.

According to a news report, without PAS and the racist Perikatan Nasional (PN)-Bersatu led by the unpatriotic Muhyiddin “I Am Malay First” Yassin, Singapore is today ranked as the 5th most peaceful country in the world.

In contrast, Malaysia is ranked World No.2 most racist country.

The Singapore Government should take extreme precautionary measures so that the racial and religious bigots do not penetrate communities in the island republic to disrupt national unity and harmony.

Without PAS & PN – Singapore Ranked 5th Most Peaceful Country While Malaysia Ranked World No 2 Most Racist In The World

27 April, 2025

Singapore is now the 5th most peaceful country in the world

This might not come as a big surprise considering how peaceful our streets are but Singapore is now officially the 5th most peaceful country in the world, according to the Global Peace Index (GPI) 2024 report. Our city has been steadily climbing the ranks each year, improving from last year’s sixth place and ninth place the year before. Singapore has also been ranked the second most peaceful country in the Asia-Pacific region.

If you don’t already know, the GPI encompasses 163 countries globally, representing essentially 99.7 percent of the world’s population. This index evaluates the degree of peacefulness based on three primary factors: the level of Societal Safety and Security, the presence of Ongoing Domestic and International Conflict, and the extent of Militarisation.

Here are the top 10 most peaceful countries in the world and their scores as of 2024 according to the GPI:

1. Iceland (1.112)

2. Ireland (1.303)

3. Austria (1.313)

4. New Zealand (1.323)

5. Singapore (1.339)

It’s one thing for Malaysians to be racist with each other but when that racial discrimination gets global attention, Malaysians do not take it lightly. According to recent research on a global survey by data portal, Indexmundi, Malaysia ranked the 2nd country for racial discrimination, behind South Africa. Singapore also ranked 4th least racist country in the world at No 73 out of 76 Countries In The World.

PAP Malay leader: Islamist PAS’ call for Singaporeans to vote along racial, religious lines ‘dangerous and divisive’

PAP candidate for Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC, Zaqy Mohamad, has today expressed his concern that foreigners are exploiting race relations and religious elements for political gain during the election period in the republic.

CNA cited the outgoing Singapore senior minister of state criticising Malaysia’s Islamist party PAS for urging Singaporeans to vote along racial and religious lines, calling it a dangerous practice.

“So when you have a party like PAS, for example, espousing certain views, asking Singaporeans to vote along religious and racial lines, I think that’s very dangerous,” Zaqy reportedly said.

“That’s the kind of politics perhaps you can see in Malaysia, where you have different parties representing different faiths or different races, whether it’s UMNO, PAS, DAP and MIC, and you can see how the parties are organised.”

He compared the situation to Singapore, which he said has spent 60 years building peace, harmony, and mutual respect among its diverse population.

He warned that Singapore must guard against the exploitation of race and religion, recalling the racial riots and protests during the country’s early years of independence.

While acknowledging there is room for discourse on religious issues, Zaqy said urging people to vote along racial and religious lines is akin to “asking for trouble”.

He said the government’s directive to Meta sends a strong signal that Singapore is committed to protecting its societal harmony and maintaining the integrity of its elections.

Zaqy added that issues like the Gaza conflict can be debated responsibly, but Singaporeans must remember to conduct such discussions with sensitivity in a multiracial, multi-religious society.

Yesterday, Singapore told Meta to block local access to several Facebook posts by foreigners allegedly attempting to influence the city-state’s upcoming election.

The posts were made by two leaders from the Malaysian Islamist party PAS, and an ex-Singaporean who is now an Australian citizen.

Islamic preacher Mohammed Noor Deros had also listed several of his demands for Singaporean political parties, allegedly on behalf of some in the Malay-Muslim community, which also included the rejection of support for the LGBT community.

Singapore Tells PAS That Religion & Politics Should Not Mix – Worst Tendencies, Hostilities & Vengefulness Across The Side

27 April, 2025

Singapore should firmly reject identity politics, and keep race and religion out of the political space, said Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.

A week before the nation heads to the polls on May 3, he called on the leaders of all political parties to clarify their stance on two fundamental principles: that identity politics has no place in Singapore, and that religion and politics should not mix.

PM Wong said that “mixing politics with religion is unacceptable in Singapore” for several reasons.

It fractures the common space shared by all Singaporeans, all communities are worse off when elections become contests of faith and external powers will exploit fault lines to advance their own agenda.

He said: “My call to all political parties is as I said: Let’s do our best not to push the boundaries” and leave race and religion out of politics.

He explained that identity politics refers to candidates appealing for support on the basis of race and religion, and championing the interests of particular groups over everything else.

Speaking at a press conference on April 26, PM Wong said: “This is not a partisan or party matter. This is a matter of national importance.”

He added that if all parties agree and exercise their campaign with an element of restraint, Singapore will be better off as a whole.

He said: “In the end, Singaporeans can choose whichever party they wish to support for their constituency and for their government, but we will not allow this to become an issue that divides us especially in the middle of an election campaign.”

He was speaking a day after the Government moved to block access to Facebook posts by two Malaysian politicians and an ex-ISA detainee for attempting to interfere in the ongoing election.

They, along with a Singaporean self-styled religious teacher based in Malaysia known as Mr Noor Deros, had spotlighted several opposition politicians in social media posts, including incumbent Aljunied MP Faisal Manap, who is contesting Tampines GRC this year under the WP banner.

The posts belong to Mr Iskandar Abdul Samad, the national treasurer of Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS), and the Islamist party’s Selangor Youth chief Mohamed Sukri Omar. A third person, Facebook user “Zai Nal”, identified as Zulfikar Mohamad Shariff – an Australian citizen who renounced his Singapore citizenship in 2020 – was also named.

Earlier that day, party chief Pritam Singh had said in response to the recent developments that the WP cannot be a successful political party “if we play the race and religion card”.

Asked to comment on the statements by the WP and other opposition parties, PM Wong said he had seen across the board a clear consensus to reject foreign interference in the election.

PM Wong, who is secretary-general of the PAP, added: “I think that’s good. I welcome that.”

He added that while one cannot control what foreign actors say – be it support or endorsements – he called on parties to “categorically reject these endorsements”.

The fundamental principle is that foreigners should not decide the outcome of Singapore’s elections, he said.

He said: “This is our country, our elections. Singaporeans alone decide the outcome of our elections.”

He added that on issues that have the potential to undermine national interest, such as foreign policy, there should be a “sense of unity in presenting to the world”.

Adopting identity politics will result in more division, and Singaporeans will all pay the price, PM Wong said.

He added: “That’s dangerous because when one group jostles aggressively to assert its identity, others will organise and start to jostle back.

“You can see how this plays out in countries everywhere. You end up fuelling our worst tendencies, hostilities and vengefulness across the side.”

No one wins when this happens, PM Wong said.

He said: “The minority groups will fail to get what they want, because the majority group will push back strongly, and the minorities will find their space constricted.

“At the same time, the majority group will also live in the most unhappy society, where every issue comes down to race and religion. So no one is happy.”

Social media posts ‘crossed the line’

The social media accounts that were blocked had targeted Singaporeans, and their posts were widely shared within the Singaporean community.

This crossed the line, said PM Wong.

He said: “Singaporeans may have different views about issues, but we cannot allow external actors to exploit whatever differences we may have, to weaken us, or to advance their own interests.”

Foreign influence is one side of the coin, but there are also other posts circulating online attempting to bring race and religion into politics, he said.

He cited those by Singaporean activists proposing that Muslims should vote for candidates that are willing to advance a religious agenda.

He said: “These messages may be by Singaporeans, but we should also reject them, and were it a Christian, a Hindu or Buddhist group making the same demand, our response would be the same.”

Mixing politics with religion is unacceptable in Singapore, he said, adding that the Government has always taken a firm stance against this.

Doing so fractures the common space Singaporeans share, he warned.

If elections become contests of faith, all communities will end up worse off, he added.

Also, external powers will seek to exploit these fault lines to advance their own agendas, he said.

When asked if he was worried that the actions by the authorities will cause backlash in terms of vote swings for GE2025, PM Wong said that the Government was not acting out of concern about the electoral outcome, but instead, focusing on the impact on Singapore’s social harmony.

This was the reason why the authorities intervened during the campaign period and why he called for the press conference on April 26, he said, stressing how the matter went beyond politics.

“I’m not here to talk about my concerns about the party. I’m here to talk about my concern for Singapore, and our country,” he said.

“And this goes beyond one election, because once the fault lines deepen, once trust is eroded, it is so hard to recover again.”

PM Wong was asked if there are other entities that are a cause for concern when it comes to foreign influence on GE2025, such as Critical Spectator, the Facebook page and website run by Polish national Michael Petraeus.

Singapore’s rules are clear and the outcome of its elections is for its citizens to decide, he stressed.

Foreigners cross the line if they take a position on an issue or a candidate, or push for one over the other. This is especially so when it is about race and religion, he said.

“You start mixing race and religion into politics, that crosses the line. So the agencies and authorities will continue to monitor… But if anything crosses the line, we will certainly take action,” he said.

Malaysia’s diplomatic standing and regional credibility damaged by remarks made by Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad and Mohamed Sukri Omar, says Party youth chief - April 27, 2025

CONTROVERSIAL remarks made by two PAS leaders concerning Singapore’s upcoming General Election 2025 (GE2025) have drawn sharp criticism, with Amanah Youth chief Mohd Hasbie Muda warning that such statements could damage Malaysia’s diplomatic standing and regional credibility.

Hasbie said the long-standing good relations between Malaysia and Singapore must be preserved through mutual respect, diplomatic etiquette, and a shared sense of responsibility.

"In principle, commenting on political developments in other countries is not necessarily wrong," Sina Harian cited him saying in a ststement today.

"However, the issue arises when those comments are perceived as attempting to influence Singaporean voting patterns based on race and religion. This runs counter to the values of inclusive democracy that should be respected.

"Therefore, Amanah Youth reminds all parties, particularly PAS, that concern for communities abroad should never be used as a pretext to interfere in another nation’s internal political affairs," he added.

The controversy stems from Facebook posts by PAS Treasurer-General Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad and Selangor PAS Youth Chief Mohamed Sukri Omar, which Singapore authorities have deemed as potential interference in their domestic affairs.

Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Elections Department (ELD) confirmed in a joint statement on Thursday that the posts had been restricted under Section 61N of the Parliamentary Elections Act (PEA).

Harakah Daily, PAS's official media outlet, had earlier published two articles on April 22 and 23 highlighting Iskandar’s views on the Malay community in Singapore and GE2025.

Hasbie added that leadership requires sensitivity to the political and legal contexts of neighbouring countries.

"In this regard, Amanah Youth urges PAS leaders to maintain decorum in handling international matters and to prioritise regional harmony over narrow political interests.

"Malaysia must remain a trusted, respected, and reputable partner in this region," he said. - April 27, 2025
