Ismail’ ‘Turtle Egg’ Sabri interrogated for another seven hours on his asset declaration
KUALA LUMPUR, April 24, 2025: Former backdoor prime minister Ismail “Turtle Egg” Sabri was today interrogated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for seven hours.
It was the eighth day of interrogation making it a total of 41 hours of grilling by the MACC.

A MACC source says the former prime minister will continue to be questioned at 3pm tomorrow.
Former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob left the MACC headquarters at about 6.10pm.
PUTRAJAYA: Former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has left the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s headquarters after his eighth day of questioning here today.
The Bera MP left the compound at about 6.10pm, about seven hours after arriving at the anti-graft agency’s headquarters this morning.
A source from MACC said Ismail will continue to be questioned at 3pm tomorrow.
The MACC resumed questioning the former Umno vice-president today as a suspect in an investigation into four of his former senior officers.
Ismail declared his assets to the MACC on Feb 10 and was first questioned on Feb 19. He was also called in for questioning on March 13, 14, 17, 19, 20 and 24 for about six hours each day.
Ismail, who collapsed at home on Feb 22 and was hospitalised for blood pressure-related problems, could not attend two previously scheduled sessions with the MACC on March 5 and 7.
The MACC is investigating the discovery of about RM170 million in cash and 16kg of gold bars worth millions of ringgit, seized in raids at the residences of the four officers and three other premises believed to be “safe houses”.

The former prime minister is being called in as a suspect in an investigation involving four of his former senior officers.

PUTRAJAYA: Former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has arrived at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters here for his eighth day of questioning.
The Bera MP arrived at 10.59am as the anti-graft agency resumes questioning him as a suspect in an investigation into four of his former senior officers.
On Tuesday, MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki said the second phase of questioning was related to Ismail’s declaration of assets.
The former Umno vice-president declared his assets to MACC on Feb 10 and was first questioned by the agency on Feb 19.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 24, 2025: Former backdoor prime minister Ismail “Turtle Egg” Sabri left the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Shah Alam today after five hours of interrogation.
It was the seventh day/session of questioning and about 34 hours of interrogation thus far.
The MACC has not provided any information on the status of the case and whether it has completed its questioning or will Ismail be required to be present for another round of interrogation tomorrow.

As he left the compound in his black Toyota Vellfire at 3.04pm, Ismail rolled down his window to wish members of the media, “Selamat Hari Raya”.
FMT has reached out to MACC for confirmation as to whether the Bera MP will be summoned again for questioning this week.

PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob arrived at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) headquarters for his seventh day of questioning today.
Kosmo reported that he arrived at 9.54am in a black Toyota Vellfire, as the anti-graft agency continues questioning him as a suspect in an investigation into four of his former senior officers.
Ismail declared his assets to MACC on Feb 10 and was first questioned by the agency on Feb 19.
