What type of Education Ministry (also read as the Government) and educators do Malaysia have? They cannot even get the Jalur Gemilang (national flag) right! Bigots! Where are you? Education Ministry’s Jalur Gemilang snafu is forgivable? No demands for sackings?

8,310 views Premiered 4 hours agoZaid Ibrahim questioned if Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek will face police action over the latest national flag blunder, while academic Tajuddin Mohd Rasdi hoped she does not meet the same fate as the Sin Chew Daily editors. “Whose head is going to roll over this? I’m sure certain groups will claim that an apology isn’t enough,” said the former law minister.
KUALA LUMPUR, April 24, 2025: So, now it is the Education Ministry that has got the Jalur Gemilang (national flag) all wrong.
And where are all the loud mouth racial and religious bigots like Umno youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh, Perkasa and the Taliban-like PAS?
They have demanded that apology cannot be accepted or is not enough. They want sackings of Sin Chew Jit Poh’s chief editor and deputy chief sub-editor.
So, have the bigots lost their tongues in the case of the ministry? Aren’t you demanding the sacking of the education minister and the director -general of education?
Where’s the responsibility and accountability? Where’s the equal treatment of justice? Where are the police investigations?
No News Is Bad News reproduces below a news report on the Education Ministry (also read as the Government)’s insult of the Jalur Gemilang!:
Yet another Jalur Gemilang snafu, this time by education ministry
The ministry apologises for the mistake in the SPM results analysis report and says a thorough investigation is ongoing.
The education ministry said amendments are being made to the SPM results analysis report.
PETALING JAYA: The education ministry has apologised for a mistake in the design of the Jalur Gemilang printed in its Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results analysis report, the latest snafu involving the national flag.
The ministry said a thorough investigation was ongoing and admitted that the mistake was unacceptable.
“We have asked for the analysis report that was distributed earlier today to be returned, and amendments are being made,” it said in a statement.
“This carelessness is unacceptable as the Jalur Gemilang symbolises the nation’s dignity and sovereignty. Stern and immediate action has been taken against all parties involved,” it added.
The report contained an image of students in a classroom, with a Jalur Gemilang with two stars instead of one hanging on the wall. The flag had eight alternating red and white stripes instead of 14.
Last week, Sin Chew Daily courted controversy for publishing a graphic illustration featuring the Jalur Gemilang without the crescent moon, leading to a police investigation and the detaining of two top editors.
Sin Chew swiftly apologised for the “technical mistake” and suspended its chief editor and deputy chief sub-editor pending the outcome of the investigation.
Kwong Wah Yit Poh is also being investigated over a Facebook post purportedly showing the Jalur Gemilang without the crescent moon.
A Singapore-based baby food vendor that opened a booth at a trade show in Kuala Lumpur also recently apologised for putting up a video showing the Jalur Gemilang without the crescent moon.
