Do multiracial Malaysians/voters who treasure national unity and harmony still want to fall for such politicians’ garbage political talk?

Don’t talk ‘political garbage’: Deal with racial and religious bigotry first!

KUALA LUMPUR, April 15, 2025: Barisan Nasional-Umno (BN-Umno) Ayer Kuning by-election candidate Yusri Bakir was reported as calling for maturity in his campaign trail.

He is absolutely right!

So, why doesn’t he start condemning and calling for action against his racial and religious bigoted Umno youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh?

Is he mature in his racial and religious bigoted attacks and issues?

FLASHBACK: A senator has asked why Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh has yet to be investigated for sedition after posting a picture of himself holding a sword on Facebook. Akmal had posted the picture, taken during a recent trip to Japan, on March 14. The picture was captioned: “No matter what, we will not waver from our stance. Better to die standing than live kneeling.”

FLASHBACK: Lawyer and social activist Siti Kasim said: "I recently saw a TikTok video where he (Akmal) was seen calling the Malays to be ready. He was seen sharpening a parang ... this is something the police must act on.

"It is like he is instigating the Malays to create problems. Islam never teaches us all this," said Siti.

Umno supports Akmal in all he says and do when spewing sensitive issues that threaten national unity and harmony.

Have multiracial Malaysians had enough of decades of racial and religious insults from Umno and the Taliban-like PAS?

If yes, then it is time for changes and for voters to teach both Umno and PAS a political lesson by dumping them for a third choice in the by-election on April 26 … and the only third choice is Part Sosialis Malaysia’s human rights lawyer KS Bawani.

BN’s Yusri calls for maturity in Ayer Kuning by-election campaign

The Barisan Nasional candidate says he has no issues with his opponents, and discourages the use of campaigns that disparage others.

Yusri Bakir said he wants the Ayer Kuning by-election to focus on ideas, not personal attacks.

TAPAH: Barisan Nasional’s (BN) candidate for the Ayer Kuning by-election has urged party supporters to conduct themselves with maturity and decorum throughout the campaign period.

Yusri Bakir said the focus should be on presenting constructive ideas to win public support.

“There’s no need for smear tactics or personal attacks. It’s unhealthy. We must show that we are a mature and respectful society,” he told FMT.

Yusri, who is contesting on behalf of the unity government, faces a three-way fight against Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) Abd Muhaimin Malek of PAS and Parti Sosialis Malaysia’s KS Bawani.

A former lecturer at the Institute of Teacher Education, Yusri told his supporters that BN holds no animosity towards the other candidates.

“I’ve met my opponents. There’s no bad blood between us,” he said.

His comments come amid allegations that Muhaimin falsified his credentials to obtain religious teaching qualifications.

These claims were denied by PN secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan after a police report lodged by Perak Amanah Youth yesterday.

Yusri also expressed confidence over growing support from non-Malay voters, who make up more than 40% of the electorate in the Ayer Kuning state constituency.

“I can see they’re at ease with me representing BN,” he said.

Yusri, who once taught at SK Batu Tiga Temoh, is also counting on support from his former students.

“I’m also hoping that outstation voters will come home to vote. Even if it’s a small sacrifice, it means a lot for Ayer Kuning’s future. That’s my biggest hope,” he said.

If elected, Yusri said his top priority would be to improve access to quality education as a means of transforming the future of the local community.
