To Ayer Kuning voters: Have you not had enough of the racial and religious insults thrown at you by Umno and PAS since Merdeka?

KUALA LUMPUR, April 20, 2025: Barisan Nasional (BN)-Umno’s candidate in the April 26 Ayer Kuning by-election in Perak, Yusri Bakir, pledges no racism, divisive politics in his manifesto.

Yusri, why don’t you just start condemning and calling for action against your Umno youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh?

Akmal is apparently in hiding for fear that his appearance would cause Umno to lose significantly 40% of the non-Malay or non-Muslim registered voters.

Yusri is like the wolf depicted in the above image. You believe him?

To the non-Malays and non-Muslim voters and liberal Malaysians who treasure national unity and harmony, have you not had enough of being “conned politically” by such “wolves” who have been insulting and bullying non-Muslims for more than six decades since Merdeka (Independence) 1957.

This is why Akmal should go kiss Donald Trump's ass - Facebook image and caption.

Look at how Umno and his cohorts, Perkasa, are behaving against Sin Chew Jit Poh for the national flag (Jalur Gemilang) gaffe.

It was just a genuine technical mistake due to the blind use of graphics from Artificial Intelligence (AI).

But Umno, led by Akmal, and its cohorts say apology is not enough, they demand the sacking of the chief editor and deputy chief-sub editor of the Chinese daily for their oversight.

Are they giving Sin Chew Jit Poh the same treatment as the three Astro deejays who mocked Hinduism? The trio is now back to work after their company paid a court fine.

It is, therefore, time for multiracial Malaysians to teach and tell the racial and religious bigoted Umno, and the Taliban-like PAS that enough is enough, there is no room for them in multiracial Malaysia.

There is a third choice in the Ayer Kuning by-election on Saturday for voters  to elect to replace both Umno and PAS - Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM).

Teach Umno and PAS a valuable lesson in multiracial politics and inclusive leadership and governance.

PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional’s candidate for the Ayer Kuning state seat by-election, Yusri Bakir, has announced his campaign manifesto, which included rejecting all forms of racism and divisive hate politics as one of the core principles.

The other two core principles in his manifesto, themed Ayer Kuning Sejahtera Bersama, are safeguarding unity and harmony among the state constituency’s multiracial community; and connecting local socioeconomic initiatives with the goals of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan.

“This manifesto is not just a political promise, it is my personal pledge, responsibility, and commitment to be on the ground, to serve with my heart, to truly listen, and to do my utmost to deliver on every item outlined here,” the manifesto read.

Yusri, from Umno, is one of the three contenders for the by-election on April 26. The other candidates are KS Bawani from Parti Sosialis Malaysia, and Perikatan Nasional’s Abd Muhaimin Malek.

To encourage a thriving local economy, Yusri pledged special grants for small enterprises, farmers, smallholders and hawkers. He also promised market access for agricultural and village products as well as guidance for entrepreneurs to explore online commerce

He said he hoped to expand mobile shops and Rahmah sales programmes to enhance the constituents’ livelihoods. More opportunities will also be created for small traders to access welfare initiatives.

He also pledged to provide sponsored technical and vocational education and training (TVET) to Ayer Kuning’s youths in the modern agriculture, automotive, and digital sectors.

Job-matching initiatives with industries in Tapah, Kampar and Slim River would also be carried out.

Yusri also pledged broader access to social protection for senior citizens, single mothers and the Orang Asli.

He also promised education, healthcare, and cooperative development support for the Orang Asli.

To improve education, he hoped to upgrade school facilities and provide learning support for students.

He also wants to set up an accessible service centre and regular community visits to address local concerns.

To improve infrastructure, he will look into upgrading village roads and agriculture routes as well as provide business spaces for hawkers and young entrepreneurs.

He said he will also look into improving internet and mobile coverage, especially in new residential areas.

PETALING JAYA: The Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) candidate for the Ayer Kuning by-election has dared her opponents from Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional to declare their assets before polling day on April 26.

KS Bawani, who is also the Perak PSM chairman, made the challenge after revealing that as of April 15, her estimated net assets stood at RM21,248, Sinar Harian reported.

Asked about the rationale behind her declaration, she said it was a long-standing practise by the party since 1999 and has been done by its candidates in every election.

“We need to show that we do not want corrupt representatives. How can someone who previously drove a modest car suddenly switch to a luxury vehicle after becoming an elected representative?

“That is why PSM mandates annual asset declarations. So, I challenge BN’s Yusri Bakir and PN’s Abd Muhaimin Malek to do the same,” she was quoted as saying at a press conference in Tapah today.

Bawani said an asset declaration allows the public to assess whether candidates vying for the Ayer Kuning state seat in Perak are truly clean and corruption-free, and whether their asset growth after being elected is justifiable.

She said her declaration is broken down into three categories – assets, income and expenses, and liabilities.

“For assets and equipment, I own a 2019 Perodua Bezza worth RM27,000 and an Honor X9B smartphone worth RM1,499, both of which have a total value of RM28,499.

“In terms of income and expenses, I have RM583 in cash and total savings of RM20,638 across several bank accounts.

“As for liabilities, I have a car loan of RM13,139 and an education loan of RM14,750, bringing total debts to RM27,889. Based on alll of the above, my estimated net assets amount to RM21,248,” she said.

Bawani also declared that she earned RM5,000 monthly as a lawyer and partner in a firm operating in Kampar, Perak, and that she had RM14,401 in EPF savings.
