TH financial scandal expose better late than never
KUALA LUMPUR, July 29, 2026: Former Umno information chief Shahril Hamdan says the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Tabung Haji (TH) was delayed to “avoid panic” could undermine public trust in future inquiries.
That’s garbage talk to protect the pencuri-pencuri (thieves).
Some RM20 billion of taxpayers’ money were used to bailout TH!
Making public the TH RCI Report now is better late than never.
You can be rest assured that under an Umno-led Barisan Nasional (BN), Malaysians will never see the daylight of the report.
Why? To protect the pencuri-pencuri whenever and wherever possible.
How many financial scandals have been swept under the carpet by BN?
Why then wasn't TH's financial losses exposed during the BN-Umno era?
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his Cabinet are now meeting and discussing whether to make the report public.

The former Umno information chief says withholding inquiry findings risks fuelling suspicion that something is being hidden.
An RCI was established in 2021 to investigate Tabung Haji’s management, operations and asset-related issues between 2014 and 2020.
PETALING JAYA: The government’s explanation that the royal commission of inquiry (RCI) report on Tabung Haji was delayed to “avoid panic” could undermine public trust in future inquiries, says former Umno information chief Shahril Hamdan.
Shahril said that whenever an RCI report is not released promptly, it only raises questions about whether information is being withheld.
“Even if the reason given is true, people will now assume something is being hidden.
“So even if the explanation is sincere, it still has negative implications,” he said on the latest episode of the Keluar Sekejap podcast.
Shahril also questioned the timing of the report’s release, noting that the inquiry had completed its work about two years ago.
His co-host Khairy Jamaluddin pointed out that the RCI was set up by the Cabinet under former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, not by the current government.
He said the inquiry, chaired by a former chief justice, examined Tabung Haji’s management between 2014 and 2020, including the transfer of underperforming assets to special purpose vehicle Urusharta Jamaah Sdn Bhd after 2018.
“The RCI was set up during our time because we had nothing to hide,” said the former Umno Youth chief.
Khairy said former Tabung Haji chairman Azeez Rahim had also repeatedly called for the report to be tabled in Parliament, as he was confident that he had not committed any wrongdoing.
