PAS ‘admits’ it does not know how to govern?

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 17, 2023: The Taliban-like PAS state governments’ “appointment” of the religious and racist Dr Mahathir Mohamad (Dr M) is pretty telling.

Now that the 15^th General Election (GE) and state elections are over, with racial and religious bigotry appearing to be waning, PAS desperately needs to prove itself until the next GE which must be held in 2027.

It is time to govern and PAS simply does not have any proven track record to show its governance competency - just look at Kelantan, a state it ruled for decades.

So, PAS has apparently decided to ride on Dr M’s “proven track record” of governance - the man who governed Malaysia for a total of 26 years.

And, Dr M has nothing to lose but to accept the “honour”.

But Dr M is a political has been, totally rejected by Malaysians, with him and his Pejuang party comrades losing all their deposits in GE15.

And what is Dr M’s so-called “proven governance track record”? Contributing to the bulk of Malaysia’s RM1.5 trillion national debt.

So, it does appear that PAS and Dr M are scratching each other’s back, hoping to sustain their political momentum and agenda until GE16.

So, PAS hopes, with Dr M as the unofficial adviser to the four PAS governments - Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu (SG4) - the states will suddenly be transformed into unprecedented socio-economic success and development.

Really?

Given the opportunity to govern Malaysia as prime minister for a total of 26 years, socio-economically where is Kedah and Langkawi today?

And do right-thinking law-abiding Malaysians really believe Dr M can achieve socio-economic wonders for SG4 in the next four years?

Ahh! And the appointment of Dr M is also akin to PAS admitting that they do not have any idea about competent governance for progressive socio-economic growth.

PAS, Dr M and Muhiyiddin “I Am Malay First” Yassin had used racial and religious bigotry to swing the votes of rural Malays in GE15 but the use of rhetoric will not last until 2027.

Ultimately, cari makan (survival) will prevail and the poor in the four states will wake up to face reality. If not, that’s their choice.

PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Harapan should keep an eye on Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's new role as the unofficial advisor of State Government 4 (SG4) to avoid another Perikatan Nasional induced political crisis, says former Sabah chief minister Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak.

In a Facebook post on Saturday (Sept 16), Salleh said the former prime minister was not a leader who would make moves without an end game.

"In fact, he is known as a leader who would make a move when he could see or seize an opportunity that could benefit him politically," said Salleh.

"I believe this (his role as advisor of SG4) is a calculated move, and there are more to come in the future," he said.
