Really?: Rising cost of living pushing Malaysians to vote for PN-PAS?
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29, 2023: All the talks about Malaysians voting for PAS and Bersatu (Perikatan Nasional - PN) due to rising cost of living are perplexing.
Even the Singapore Straits Times has reported such talks as facts under a report titled “Malaysia’s poorest voted for opposition, signaling discontent with economy.
View the above image, does it make any sense?
Price of essentials was higher during the PN Government (2020-2022) compared to the current Unity Government (UG).
If Malaysians had voted for the racial and religious bigots in PAS and Bersatu because of rising costs of living, then the above image, by the Communications and Community Department (J-Kom), must be a lie or fitnah.
Further, Anwar Ibrahim’s UG inherited an ailing economy that is saddled with a RM1.5 trillion national debt. And with the gloomy global economic outlook, do you expect the UG to heal the economy in a year or two?
And the national debt is no thanks to previous federal governments and Malaysians expect them to do wonders?
Also, not forgetting that rising cost of living is a global phenomena.
No News Is Bad News opines that the economy is not the single most damaging factor to socio-economic politics.
It is the wanton and unabated use of racial and religious rhetoric by the Taliban-like PAS-dominated PN to win votes that mattered.
As it is, Anwar and UG are already working round the clock to stabilise the price of essentials and attracting foreign investors, and there are signs of recovery.
Do Malaysians expect PAS and PN to do better? You be the judge and conclude why Malaysians are voting for racial and religious bigots.
They are so brainwashed and overcome by emotional rhetoric that they believe voting PN=PAS means going to heaven!
