Unregistered religious schools to blame for racial and religious bigotry?

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15, 2023: The Johor Islamic religious department (JAINJ) has identified 266 unregistered private religious schools in the state.

Johor Islamic religious affairs committee chairman Fared Khalid said the schools comprised 31 tahfiz schools, 12 pondok schools, 10 Islamic primary schools and 213 preschools.

And that is just in Johor! What about in Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu? Elsewher also, like Selangor and others.

Just what do such unregistered schools teach? To believe that human and political parties (not God) decide who goes to heaven, who goes to hell?

Is that the reason why so many rural Malays believe and support PAS racial and religious bigots in the six state elections on Aug 12?

Johor state exco Fared Khalid said 37 private religious schools were in the process of obtaining full registration.

PETALING JAYA: The Johor Islamic religious department (JAINJ) has identified 266 private religious schools in the state that have not been registered or approved, the Johor assembly was told today.

State Islamic religious affairs committee chairman Fared Khalid said these schools comprised 31 tahfiz schools, 12 pondok schools, 10 Islamic primary schools and 213 preschools, Bernama reported.

“JAINJ is actively raising awareness to preschools of their obligation to register.

“Tahfiz schools that wish to be registered in Johor need to go through a number of approval processes under the Control of Islamic Religious School Enactment,” he said in response to a question from Gan Peck Cheng (PH-Penggaram).

Fared said JAINJ would continue to monitor and assist tahfiz schools that face difficulties in getting approval.

A total of 37 private religious schools are in the process of obtaining full registration, he added.
