KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 21, 2023: Following Berry’s Cake House controversy over Christmas greetings on cakes, all other bakeries and eateries are reminded that the halal certificate, issued by Jakim, is no guarantee to business success.
The above YouTube clip is self explanatory.
So Berry’s, don’t give lame excuses for causing the controversy and then, reversing your bigoted religious practice, and apologising.
The damage is done.

ORIENTAL KOPI — AN EXEMPLARY NON-MUSLIM RESTAURANT • ORIENTAL KOPI — AN EXEMPLARY NON-MUSL... Our guest socio-political commentator on current affairs, Imraz Ikhbal, pays a visit to an award-winning kopitiam in Mid-Valley, Kuala Lumpur. Oriental Kopi is listed in the Malaysian Book of Records. He was impressed that both the staff and clientele reflect the multiethnic demographics of pluralistic Malaysia, Truly Asia. He expresses the wish that more restaurants ought to serve no pork, no lard halal-compliant food without actually going through the expensive, petty, unnecessarily restrictive and bureaucratic Halal certification process because the Holy Quran does not state that a JAKIM Halal Certificate is mandatory, does it? We feature guest commentators and others who have messages that we feel deserve a wider audience. We may not necessarily subscribe to the views expressed but we believe that instead of sweeping the elephant in the room under the carpet (to mix metaphors), our beloved nation is best served by having an informed, intelligent, rational, sensible and calm logical discourse in the public domain. Since our Cabinet members have proven to be incapable of practising geniocracy, noocracy or even the fundamentals of rudimentary technocracy, we are left with no choice but to crowd-source geniocracy from the Rakyat in order to BUILD A BETTER MALAYSIA.
