RM100 million each for 30 MPs to topple Anwar Ibrahim?

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 1, 2024: The New Year has started with a political “explosion” - that 30 Members of Parliament (MPs) would be offered RM100 million each to join the Opposition and help topple Anwar Ibrahim’s Madani Unity Government.

Whether the offer is true or false, time will tell. So, another backdoor Government for Malaysians, undermining democracy and people’s power.

No News Is Bad News reproduces below three postings by suspected CIA-backed political website Malaysia Chronicle on the so-called bid to topple Anwar for a backdoor Government:

'FATAMORGANA' OR MERE ILLUSION? - BUT ANWAR'S OWN J-KOM HAS CONFIRMED 'DUBAI MOVE' RUMOUR - OR DID AHMAD MASLAN INADVERTENTLY LET SLIP RM100 MIL PRICE TAG PER DEFECTION?

KUALA LUMPUR (Politics Now!) - A senior Umno leader - Ahmad Maslan of the fried rice fame, no less - has called the 'Dubai Move' to oust Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim a 'fatamorgana' - the Malay term for the imaginary or a mere illusion.

Yet, the rumor which has spread like wildfire has been confirmed by Anwar's own propaganda unit - the J-Kom which was recently hit by a same-sex scandal involving its chief and a staff.

Talk that two powerful 'Tuns' - former finance minister Daim Zainuddin and Mahathir Mohamad - had given their 'blessings' to the Dubai Move is also another key factor catching the imagination of the public.

Meanwhile, who is telling the truth and who is telling lies?

Can Ahmad, an ostensibly staunch supporter of Anwar's unity government, be so out of the loop? Or is he just saying things he doesn't know anything about? Maybe, he is even saying things in a roundabout way?

On goes the speculation about Ahmad's fancy 'fatamorgana' vocabulary and RM100 million 'price tag' he mentioned in passing as he tried to douse what is no longer a rumor, thanks to J-Kom.

"The Dubai move? This is just a fantasy. For 30 MPs (Members of Parliament) of Umno and BN, we have already signed (an agreement) to pay RM100 million per person if we want to jump (party)," Ahmad Maslan wrote on the X platform.

So if all 30 Umno MPs were to abandon Anwar's unity government - which is fast plunging in popularity - whoever wants to 'buy' them en-bloc would technically have to cough up RM3 billion - which in the scheme of things is a paltry sum to control a country as rich in resources as Malaysia, with an administrative web so malleable, porous and imaginative it can accommodate with ease all forms of corruption.

"Put it this way - who can ever tell what's inside Ahmad Maslan's brain. It can be anything or nothing," a political analyst told Politics Now!

"Without taking sides, what's distressing for Anwar and Harapan is how this Dubai Move is exciting the public especially the Malays. This is an indication that Malays have no problems with his removal and replacement by a regime led by Umno, Pas, Bersatu and GPS. As for the non-Malays, Anwar and his arrogant Little Napoleons have stepped on their toes, so they won't bother much. They are so used to being without as it is and they are intuitive enough to realize this is not something that they as minorities can stop. Malaysia and Malays have to go through tumble after tumble until hopefully one day, a real leader who is strong enough emerges to really change the country. For now, team Anwar is just another group of snake-oil salesmen and women."

J-KOM - FROM SAME-SEX SCANDAL TO DUBAI MOVE

Deputy Works Minister Ahmad Maslan and his fried rice dishes

A day ago, J-Kom (the Malay acronymn for the Community Communications Department) deputy director Ismail Yusop claimed that vacationing leaders from PN, the main opposition bloc that comprises key parties Pas and Bersatu, and un-named government officials had met at the UAE's capital city - hence the complot was named the Dubai Move.

Ismail also claimed that the meeting discussed and assigned specific tasks to 'agents' responsible for identifying which members of parliament (MPs) might want to switch support to the opposition through inducements, solely to establish a 'tebuk atap' or backdoor government.

"It has become public knowledge in the past day or two about the Dubai holiday by PN leaders. Followed by the presence of several other leaders associated with groups dissatisfied with the leadership style of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and the Madani government," said Ismail was reported as telling Malay daily Berita Harian.

“It is rumoured that the 'Dubai Move' was formulated with assignments given to a person in charge tasked to meet, negotiate and make offers to those identified as potential supporters who may switch to the opposition.

“It is said that there are spokespersons with access to the leadership on the opposition side, who are roaming throughout the country, including in Sabah and Sarawak, trying to convince that the Madani government will topple in early 2024, with a date and deadline given."

Other influential political figures involved included veterans with the title ‘Tun’, a former prime minister and a former finance minister, Ismail alleged. They were using local and foreign sources to overthrow the Anwar administration, he added.

Bersatu and Pas leaders have rubbished Ismail's claims.

“This unbecoming rant from J-Kom is ill-informed, ignorant and intended to paint a distasteful picture of the opposition to the public at large,” said Bersatu legal and constitution bureau deputy chief Sasha Lyna Abdul Latif.

Pas deputy president Tuan Ibrahim slammed Ismail for "trying to deceive the people" - labeling it as a strategy to draw the people's attention away from current issues, which he added include “the J-Kom issue, local elections, or statements from DAP leaders causing public concern.”

ULTIMATE BUYER & THE REAL 'FATAMORGANA'

Anwar (left) and ex-mentors Mahathir (center) and Daim (right)

Meanwhile, the last word from Umno's Ahmad Maslan, who is also the deputy Works minister, is that Umno-BN MPs simply do not have the RM100 million needed to switch parties.

"Which MP has that amount of money? Even if 30 of us defected, the government is still intact with 122 (MPs) in support," he gushed.

But again, Ahmad Maslan is wrong - as well as being facetious, said pundits.

"Who knows how much money Umno and BN MPs really have? For sure, the public perception is that quite a few Umno MPs easily have more than RM100 million," a veteran political watcher told Politics Now!

"And whoever is the ultimate buyer doesn't really need to pay cash or even use his own money. If the move succeeds, Malaysians can expect that they will be the ones who end up footing the bill, either via projects or what-not that will be granted to these runaway MPs. It's the same old story, same old modus operandi used by past regimes. Even Anwar was accused of it when the 5 Bersatu MPs recently declared support for him."

"Also if all 30 Umno-BN MPs dump Anwar, chances are GPS will also exit. They have done as the King asked them to, so they can now say they gave Anwar a chance but he can't do the job. So many examples they can give, for example the ringgit's plunge. So Anwar's majority is the real 'fatamorgana' not the Dubai Move or whatever new plot that comes along because those moves are for real. There's constant plotting to oust him because he's not popular. It's only what chances of success."

'DUBAI MOVE' STEAMS ONTO THE HORIZON - AS GAFFE AFTER GAFFE ANWAR TAKES ON THE POWERFUL TUNs - PERHAPS BEFORE HE CAN EVEN STAND ON HIS OWN?

Written by Wong Choon Mei, Politics Now!

KUALA LUMPUR (Politics Now!) - It looks like the latest attempt by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to consolidate his grip on power is fast turning into his next and perhaps fatal fiasco - threatening to explode into a fireball of flames that will inevitably char his fragile government to cinders while ousting himself from the post he has coveted for decades but has failed to live up to or do justice to.

A bid to bring to book the country's most powerful including the likes of former finance minister Daim Zainuddin and legendary two-time former PM Mahathir Mohamad - ostensibly for corruption and perhaps also for once making him squirm - has given birth to a monster that not only puts in jeopardy the country's political stability but the very nature and statehood of the country itself.

A 'Dubai Move' is now steaming up the rumor mills - that a serious and complex plot has been hatched to overthrow Anwar's 'Madani' government - and replace it with a new regime led by the main opposition bloc PN-Pas and current allies Umno and GPS. The pretext for the latest power grab is apparently to protect Malay political dominance against a move to redraw electoral boundaries.

Unsaid but yet on the minds of many political watchers is the possibility that the Dubai Move could also be the revenge strike by those pressed unnecessarily into the corner, such as Daim and Mahathir whose families have everything to lose if Anwar succeeds.

Indeed, the unbridled and less than professional way in which Anwar's political secretary Shamsul Iskandar Akin savaged and humiliated the 98-year-old Mahathir for mocking Anwar - as good as publicly threatening to investigate the ex-leader's children for unexplained wealth - is viewed by speculators as the last straw that broke the camel's back.

Similarly, the usually taciturn Daim's move to finally break his silence two days ago at Anwar's alleged "witch hunt" is also seen as a harbinger of the fightback to come.

"Anwar and his inner circle have become like a joke. They have this very huge ego, very grand ambitions and talk very lofty ideals but sadly have the political IQ the size of a pea. Mind you, I am only saying what many in the country are also thinking and that's why there is this side feeling of anger towards him and his Harapan coalition for disappointing everyone - and now he's putting everyone at risk because he doesn't think well and is relying on very poor quality sidekicks and Little Napoleons who think might is right. By all means, go after Mahathir, Daim and their families sons if you have proof but why the need to talk like a fighter cock and publicly insinuate this and that before anyone is even charged. Are we already in an election campaign, I wonder. If not, it really reeks of being drunk with one's own power," a pundit told Politics Now!

"Let me be clear, nobody is against Anwar going after the corrupt ultra-rich but there is the unspoken expectation that he does so professionally. What has disgusted people is the playbook he is using - suddenly anti-graft bodies like the MACC and the police are echoing and supporting his every statement. So what's the difference between now and the hegemony of the past Umno governments or a future under Pas Islamic radicalism - it's still political instability and political unprofessional day in, day out and blow-with-the-wind polemics and policies - Malaysia continues to drown without real, properly thought-out strategies and reforms."

"So why take sides? Who is to say Anwar won't become like the Mahathir and Daim he's now accusing them of being or his family won't become like their families. So long as you don't follow the rules of professionalism, abuse your own power and abuse the institutions like the MACC and the judiciary to serve your own political purposes, you and your accomplices will straightaway become suspect. The moment you use gutter tactics and then hypocrisy to gloss over or cover your own actions, straightaway the people will not only smell but see you as just another a rat in a world of rats."

NOT THE GOOD GUYS AFTER ALL

Indeed, while the feelings of racial animosity between Malays and non-Malays have cooled somewhat in the urban areas since the 76-year-old Anwar swept to power last year, the political temperature has risen dramatically - thanks largely to an incompetent inner circle foolish and naive enough to believe that the surest way for Anwar to hold onto power perpetually was to gag and suppress by force critics, social media and blogs that dared to speak unfavorably of his ineffective handling of the government and the economy.

It immediately set up the backs of civil society as well as a citizenry that has long been deprived of free and fair speech by previous authoritarian regimes. Thus began the current ongoing and deepening round of self-reflection by long-time supporters, with voters questioning themselves 'did we vote out Dr Jekyll only to bring in Saudara (Mr) Hyde?'

Backpedaling on key election promises was another disappointment. The shocking plunge of the ringgit to its lowest ever in history, breaking even the record troughs touched 25 years ago during the Asian Financial Crisis, was another eye-opener that perhaps Anwar and Harapan (which comprises his PKR, the DAP and Amanah parties) were just as incompetent and clueless as the past administrations - and were using the same old gag-and-silence the critics deflection trick to maintain an aura, a mirage of well-being as they sought to buy time to settle in.

Most surreal and unbelievable was the Attorney General's decision to suddenly free Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi from a string of corruption charges. The malice behind the inclusion of two stroke of caning for Syed Saddiq, the young, very popular and fast-rising MP for Muar was yet another 'milestone' that awakened voters against the Anwar regime - triggering ruminations that perhaps 'these guys are not the good guys after all'.

Some veteran political observers believe the narcissistic Anwar had erred in overestimating his own position by going after Daim when the public outcry against his government in releasing Zahid from his corruption charges had not settled.

"If Anwar is trying to use Daim to beef up his anti-corruption image after getting pie on the face over Zahid's discharge, then he has foolishly picked on the wrong man!" the observer told Politics Now!

"Guys like Daim and Mahathir, you go after only when you have really rock-solid proof and most important of all, when you have rock-solid political support of your own."

Politics Now!: SO, THE 'DUBAI MOVE' IS NOT A RUMOUR ANYMORE! - BU...

So Dubai Move Is Not A Rumour Anymore.

It looks like the "rumoured" Dubai Move is not a rumour anymore. Here is Malaysiakini with some more news about the Dubai Move.

https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/691692

new plot in the works to topple gomen claims J-Kom deputy DG

‘become public knowledge about Dubai holiday by PN leaders

presence of several other leaders dissatisfied with madani

arose during vacation by PN leaders, as well as gomen officials, in Dubai

involved closed-door meeting with several PN MPs, two MPs from BN

as well as leaders from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).

OSTB : Gomen officials? Who are the gomen officials? Is this true? Why are gomen officials holidaying in the first place? And in Dubai in the second place? And finally with PN leaders? What is going on?

"leaders from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB)". This is the most critical component. The presidente of the PBB is none other than Abang Johari Openg the premier of Sarawak. PBB is of course head honcho of GPS Sarawak. GPS has 23 Parliamentary seats. GPS friend GRS (in Sabah) has SIX Parliamentary seats. A + B = 29 seats already. That is a lot of seats.

OSTB :  Sometimes people may feel an urge to poke a hornet's nest. Be ready to get stung.

OSTB : What a weird thing to say?  How come when those FIVE Bersatu MPs "switched their allegiances" without leaving their party they were not investigated by the Police or  "security forces", it was not deemed a malicious political conspiracy, it was not deemed an act of treason, or an act of betrayal?

When you do it then its ok.

But when others do the same thing then it is not ok?

Bl**dy hypocrites.

In 2022, Anwar says has 'strong, formidable, convincing' majority to form government

What if the entire GPS Sarawak (since the Deputy DG of J-Kom said PBB is part of the Dubai Move) decides to "switch allegiances"?  Meaning all the parties who are members of GPS Sarawak - lock, stock and barrel?

I like this part : will topple early 2024, date and deadline given, quotes Berita Harian

Well the New Year 2024 is about 28 hours away.  Let us all wish for a really Happy New Year.  Throw out the old trash and start again fresh. - https://syedsoutsidethebox.blogspot.com/
