Umno youth leaders, now and then!

Umno buries any chance of retaining confidence of non-Malays in GE16

KUALA LUMPUR, March 22, 2024: Umno has buried any chance of making a strong political comeback in the next general (GE16) due in 2027.

It is likely to totally lose the confidence of non-Malays who “grudgingly” voted for Umno in GE15 to save multi-racial Malaysia from the rule of the Taliban-like PAS and the racist Perikatan Nasional (PN) led by the unpatriotic Muhyiddin “I Am Malay First” Yassin.

The non-Malays are likely to adopt the “Anything But Umno (ABU)” that featured significantly in GE13 and GE14 following its stand on the Made-in-China “Allah” brand socks.

Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki today said that the Umno Supreme Council unanimously backs the actions of its youth chief Dr Akmal Salleh in relation to the socks controversy.

This, despite Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his deputy Zahid Hamidi’s calls to all to move on and not escalate racial and religious feuds with the controversy.

So, is Zahid still in charge of Umno?

Umno’s backing of Akmal’s actions means it also backs this:

Lawyer and social activist Siti Kasim said: "I recently saw a TikTok video where he (Akmal) was seen calling the Malays to be ready. He was seen sharpening a parang ... this is something the police must act on.

"It is like he is instigating the Malays to create problems. Islam never teaches us all this," said Siti.

Just like the keris-waving Hishammuddin Hussein and whatever he uttered (too sensitive for publication) has never been forgiven by the non-Malays, Akmal is doing the same for him and Umno.

This must be last straw for non-Malays who are likely to not give Barisan Nasional (BN)-Umno another chance in GE16. Umno cannot be trusted anymore for multi-racial Malaysia!

Umno ‘unanimously’ backs Akmal’s actions over ‘Allah’ socks issue

Party secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki says the Cabinet respects Umno’s stand on the issue.

Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the issue has not affected ties between the various parties in the unity government.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Umno Supreme Council unanimously agrees with the actions of its youth chief, Dr Akmal Saleh, in relation to the sale of socks bearing the word “Allah”.

This is despite Akmal drawing flak, particularly from MCA and DAP, over his persistent call for a boycott of KK Mart convenience stores.
Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki also said the Cabinet respects the party’s stand on the issue.

“The issue of Umno Youth’s (actions) was discussed at the Supreme Council meeting today. The Supreme Council fully supports the Umno Youth chief’s stand,” he said at a press conference at Menara Dato Onn here after the meeting.

Asyraf said the issue has not affected Umno’s ties with the various parties within the unity government.

He reiterated that Umno will not compromise with issues involving the 3Rs (race, religion and royalty), citing the “Allah” socks issue as well as the proposals to make New Villages Unesco world heritage sites, and bak kut teh a national heritage dish.

Akmal had been pushing for a boycott of KK Mart over the socks issue and vowed to continue doing so despite some leaders, including Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his deputy, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, saying the matter should not be prolonged.

Akmal, who is also a Melaka executive councillor, said KK Mart’s apology was insufficient, and demanded that apology banners be displayed at all of the chain’s 881 outlets.

Police today said their investigation into the issue has been completed and the investigation papers have been sent to the Attorney-General’s Chambers.

Two individuals have also been charged in court and sentenced to jail as well as fined for making insulting comments on the issue on Facebook.

‘Sharpening a parang, (racial and religious bigoted Umno Youth chief) Akmal called on Malays to be ready …”

KUALA LUMPUR, March 21, 2024: Polis di-Raja Malaysia and the so-called Madani Unity Government (UG) are simply disgusting.

They are shameless with their clear practice of selective persecution and prosecution on matters related to 3R (Race, Religion Royalty).

There are so many untouchables who stubbornly continue to threaten national security and harmony with impunity - yet there is no action by the police.

A clear example is the racist and religious bigoted Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh

Lawyer and social activist Siti Kasim said: “I recently saw a TikTok video where he (was seen calling the Malays to be ready. He was seen sharpening a parang (machete) ... this is something the police must act on.

"It is like he is instigating the Malays to create problems. Islam never teaches us all this.”

If any other Malaysian had did the same, the police would almost act immediately to haul him or her up.

What was Akmal getting at when he called on Malays to be ready, while sharpening a parang.? Ready for what?

Is Akmal’s behaviour bordering terrorism?

The police and UG are getting more sickening by the day on managing racial and religious sensitivities.

Unfortunately for Malaysians and Malaysia, , there appears to be no sane lawmakers or parties with the political will and courage to respond and act to stop such public insanity.

Shut up and stop acting like a hero, Siti Kasim tells Akmal

"Sorry, you do not represent me and many others. We are not stupid (bodoh) nor ignorant," she said.

LAWYER and social activist Siti Kasim today stressed that Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh does not represent the voice of the Malays in the country over the KK Mart - "Allah" socks debacle.

"Sorry, you do not represent me and many others. We are not stupid (bodoh) nor ignorant. It is no longer like in the past.

"You should look after your own house... your Mersing Umno youth chief ... What have you done about that? Nothing I guess," she said in a video posted on her Facebook.

She said politicians from all parties concerned should stop using the KK Mart - "Allah" socks debacle in an attempt to gain political mileage.

"The government is taking action. It has in the past acted against all those who have insulted Islam. We have our laws.

"I have said it before ... all politicians are the same and the Malays are made to look like fools," she said.

She said Akmal wanted to make it seem like he was a saviour and safeguarding Islam.

"All he is doing is safeguarding his pocket. Stop using religion knowing people are sensitive about such issues.

"I recently saw a TikTok video where he was seen calling the Malays to be ready. He was seen sharpening a parang ... this is something the police must act on.

"It is like he is instigating the Malays to create problems. Islam never teaches us all this," said Siti.

She urged Akmal to 'shut up' and stop acting like a 'hero'.

"We are not 'bodoh' like you think. Lay off this subject and let the police investigate.

"It may be a genuine mistake ... After all, the company involved is huge, and we should let the authorities investigate.

"We have a brain given to us by God and we need to use it. This hype is only among politicians and in reality, the Malays on the ground are not bothered about it. Stop manipulating this issue for your political mileage," she added. - The Vibes, March 21, 2024

Keris-waving: Hishamuddin must apologise

TYK

Why are Umno Youth chief Hishammuddin Hussein Onn's keris-waving antics controversial? I believe the dear minister fails to realise that raising a weapon (even a sheathed one) creates an aggressor's image.

He points out, 'If the Chinese community is still perturbed and fearful of the keris, then I believe this community will be unable to compete in the present world which talks about atomic and nuclear bombs and Scud missiles'.

But he is unaware that the keris, like bombs and missiles, are instruments of violence. What should the competitiveness of the Chinese community have to do with weapons and weapons of mass destruction?

So why shouldn't the community not be wary if another communal leader raises a weapon and calls it a revival of the spirit of its youth?

Are there no better symbols for spiritual revival? What about the great and proud Melaka sultanate of centuries ago? True, it too warred, but is better remembered as a benevolent trading empire, not a conquering one. At least our high school children are thus informed.

I am not satisfied with the minister's justification for his keris-waving publicity stunt which warrants a public apology. What if other community leaders began waving weapons (sheathed, mind you) to herald a new energy to their political agenda? What then? - Mkini
