Gerakan ‘admits’ its useless for multiracial Malaysians

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 19, 2025: Gerakan president Dominic Lau says his party will focus on universal concerns instead of race and religion.

So, racial and religious bigotry are not universal concerns for multiracial Malaysians? National unity and harmony can take a back seat?

If you and Gerakan do not have the courage to fight for the Constitutional rights and freedom of Malaysians, so be it.

Then, why should Malaysians vote for Gerakan? What a useless and pathetic political party which has no concern for the racial, religious and political bullying of Malaysians, especially the minorities.

Is that also Gertakan’s shameless show of blind loyalty and support for the Taliban-like PAS and Perikatan Nasional (PN) led by the racist and unpatriotic Muhyiddin “I Am Malay First” Yassin?

Gerakan is today a far cry from its political hey days then led by the late Dr Lim Chong Eu. It certainly needs a new president/brain if the party wants to survive politically.

Party president Dominic Lau says Malaysians are tired of political parties playing up religious or racial issues.

Gerakan president Dominic Lau said his party would focus on key issues such as the economy, education, health and cultural harmony.

PETALING JAYA: Gerakan intends to change the political narrative in Malaysia from a focus on race and religion to one centred on “universal concerns”.

Gerakan president Dominic Lau said this would cover the interests of Malaysia’s society regardless of race or religion, adding that his party would focus on eight key issues.

They are the economy, education, health, good governance, cultural harmony, digital transformation, security and peace, as well as youth empowerment and employment.

“We will no longer focus on religious or ethnic issues, which the people are tired of discussing,” he said at a press conference today.

Lau also announced the appointment of Gerakan Youth chief Wong Chia Zen as the party’s new secretary-general, saying the top leadership unanimously agreed on this.

Wong replaces Loh Kah Yong, who remains a member of Gerakan’s central committee.
