Charity begins at home!
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20, 2023: What type of Madani Unity Government (UG) is this?
While Malaysians struggle to survive in a gloomy domestic and global economy, and their children are also fighting for space in public universities, the UG decides to waive tuition fees for more than 600 Palestinians studying in public universities.
The exemption of fees will cost the UG RM20 million! Does that make any sense when Malaysian students need help to survive?
Don’t poor and downtrodden Malaysian students deserve the same humanity and compassion?
The UG should get its priorities right for the rakyat dan negara (people and country) when its decides how to spend its tax-payers money.
Furthermore, Malaysia’s national debt is now more than RM1.5 trillion and ballooning with the weak Ringgit.
In terms of wealth or federal reserves, every Malaysian is in debt of RM47,000 but every Singaporean is a millionaire (in RM) - See report below
And the UG is also mulling taking in Palestinian refugees! Has it even considered the socio-economic impact on Malaysian communities?
This is what is being shared in social media but its accuracy of facts has not been verified:

I am NOT anti-anybody or race or religion.
There is NO PEACE until both sides accept each other.
Their constitution of eradicating Israel MUST be deleted with guarantee by the world.
Facts (please google / wiki the followings – correct me if I am wrong.
in 1992 Denmark took in 320 Palestinians refugees, 270 stay behind.
out of 270 remain in Denmark, 204 were convicted of serious crimes.
These 270 reproduced 999 off springs. - 34% had criminal records.
The rest on social welfare.
Jordan took in Palestine refugees, in a matter of a few years they set up opposition party challenging the native race, nearly took / rule over Jordan (Like Lebanon).
Lebanon took in Palestine refugees; they now rule / run their country (Lebanon).
Egypt also took in Palestine refugees; they (PLO) killed assassinated Egypt President during their National Day.
Until today Egypt refused to take in Palestinian refugees.
The current refugee camps in Sinai are temporary with promise of funds from US.
Last but will NOT be the least: Kuwait was their biggest donor among the Arab countries. They also took in 400 K Palestinian workers.
However, when Iraq invaded Kuwait, you know what they did, they show their true colors (it is hard to change, it is within them, deep in their blood n DNA)
Arafat (their leader) openly supported Saddam, Palestinians worker in Kuwait colluded, raped, looted Kuwait.
Guess what Kuwait did, on their first day of liberation?
They immediately cut ties n kick out every single Palestinian from Kuwait.
Limited relationship reinstalled after Arafat death (after much Persuasion from neighbouring Arabs - religious n DNA etc)
That is the reason why in recent 57 Muslim countries meeting, they unanimously voted NOT to accept Palestinian as refugee.
Only foolish people or those who want to play God, happily taking them.
Remember the lady and the poison snake story?
Do u want them ?

Politics, Palestine and the plight of Malaysian education
The education system, influenced by politics of the day and driven by politicians with an agenda, is at risk of being hijacked by certain quarters.
Joe Samad - 13 Nov 2023, 8:00am
We have to admit that the Malaysian education system is far from being free and neutral. It is heavily influenced by politics of the day and driven by politicians with a certain agenda.
There is a great danger of the education system becoming radicalised and hijacked by certain quarters for their own motives.
At the tertiary levels, we have seen the Malay Dignity Congress, at which academics partook in a political agenda solely focusing on one race and religion. The bigoted and Malay-centric resolutions that came out of the convention didn’t sit well with a lot of people.
Then we had the introduction of ‘khat’ or Jawi calligraphic script in the school curriculum, taking away valuable time in teaching the three R’s.
Not to be outdone, the Madani government introduced the ‘Imam Al-Nawawi 40 Hadith’ appreciation module for Muslim schoolchildren in public schools, which the education ministry said is meant to curb radicalism and extremism in the community.
The Palestine Solidarity Week, sanctioned by the education ministry for schools nationwide, drew flak from all sides, especially when video clips and pictures went viral showing teachers and students wearing the garb of resistance fighters and brandishing guns in school compounds.
Minister’s emotional response
This shocked many people and resulted in a huge outcry from parents and civic societies, with education minister Fadhlina Sidek responding with an emotional speech in Parliament.
“Give us space to carry out our responsibilities and focus on the education of humanity. Stop disturbing us. Don’t interfere with our schools or teachers,” she said. “Please understand that this is an important message to educate on humanitarian values.”
What “humanity” or “values” is she referring to?
The humanities are academic disciplines that study aspects of human society and culture, including fundamental questions asked by humans. Nothing can be learnt by masquerading as gun-toting Palestinians in school compounds.
What happened to the “40 Hadith” appreciation module to curb radicalism and extremism in the community? What is the role of the Islamic development department (Jakim), to which the government has allocated RM1.9 billion for the management and development of Islamic affairs in the 2024 budget.
Getting our money’s worth
The federal education system has yet again got the lion’s share of the budget, with RM58.7 billion for the education ministry and RM16.3 billion for the higher education ministry, for a total allocation of RM75 billion.
That amounts to a whopping 19% of a national budget of RM393.8 billion. With such a big budget for education, the public, as taxpayers, have the right to question the goings-on in the school system.
We would expect that these budgets are to be used wisely and not on bringing sanctioned politics to schools on the pretext of teaching humanities with plastic guns.
There is no kindness when staring down the barrel of a gun, and there is nothing righteous about revenge killing.
Danger of simplistic thinking
The history of Palestine and Israelis goes back for centuries; even adults find it hard to comprehend the taking of human lives in these conflicts. Children should not be subjected to adult politics which they may not understand.
The other danger is that the Palestine-Israel conflict is turned into one between Islam against Christianity, or that the conflict will turn into a battle between Islamic nations and the Christian West.
That view is very simplistic, and Malaysians should be wary about where this path will lead us. Such narrow views can create a greater chasm in multi-religious, multi-cultural Malaysia, with schoolchildren and educational institutions forced to choose one side or another.
Everyone has the right to protest, but please do it outside the sanctity of schools.
Why we have age limits
The reason we have age-limits on voting, drinking, and marrying is because we know those below certain ages need to be guided before they reach adulthood.
They are at a vulnerable stage of their lives. So it’s only natural that the sight of schoolchildren dressing up as gun-toting Palestinians and parading in school compounds in support of the Palestinian cause will cause alarm among parents and educationists.
Social media postings reflect Christians and Muslims taking a religious stance on the Palestine-Israel conflict, justifying each other’s actions rather than focusing on the loss of human lives.
Schoolchildren will also be dragged into international politics along similar lines.
Charity at home
A weeklong event organised by the education ministry has managed to raise RM9.2 million in donations for embattled Palestinians. There is nothing wrong with that. Malaysians are generous people in times of need.
But what about the poor and downtrodden Malaysians? Don’t they also deserve the same humanity and compassion?
There is a saying that charity begins at home. We should do that by teaching our children to care about their surrounding communities and environment.
The views expressed are those of the writer and do not necessarily reflect those of FMT.

SEPANG: Tuition fees for more than 600 Palestinian students studying at public universities in Malaysia will be waived for one year with immediate effect.
Higher education minister Khaled Nordin said his ministry willalso hold talks with private universities to waive the fees for more than 200 Palestinian students studying at these institutions
“We are also considering providing monthly allowances to all 800 Palestinian students (in both public and private universities) in Malaysia for the same period.
“This (exemption of fees and monthly allowances) will involve a cost of about RM20 million as a result of contributions from public and private universities as well as the public,” he told a press conference after opening the Global Higher Education Forum 2023 here today.
Khaled said details on the tuition fee waiver and monthly allowances would be announced soon.
“We will announce the exact amount for these initiatives. It is in the final stages,” he added.
He said the ministry is concerned over the challenges faced by the Palestinian students.
“They are, of course, among those who are directly affected by what is happening in their country. They may no longer be able to receive financial support from their family or sponsors,” he said.

Every Malaysian is in debt of RM47,000 but every Singaporean is a millionaire (in RM)
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 17, 2023: Singapore has RM7.5 trillion of reserves but Malaysia’s national debt is more than RM1.5 trillion.
Need we say more about the financial and economic state of Malaysia?
Read below a “Factual read” found on Facebook:
Factual read:-
*Singapore* PMs, Lee KY and Lee Shien Loong, both are not multi billionaires but they built a nation with *RM7.5 trillion* of reserve...
*Mahathir* helped his children become multibillionaires and today left the nation with *RM1.5 trillion debts *
*Big difference*
On outlook glance, one fought for the *nation's growth* and one fought for his own *family's wealth*
Just a reflection on *malaysia* and our closest neighbour *Singapore*.
Just on three item discipline :
•merit system •zero political corruption
•no instituitional racism.
*Singapore* has Sovereign Fund (Reserves) totalling
*$2.2 Trillion*
(Thats about Rm 7.5 Trillions at current Xchange rate.)
*malaysia* has National Debts of *Rm 1.5 Trillions* !!
*Singapore* has 5 million citizens which means each one has Rm 1.5 Million ( at current rate Xchange ) of cash backing from the State Sovereign Fund !!!
While Malaysia’s 32 million citizens each has national debt (hutang) of about Rm 47,000 !!!
Spore is only a small island of about 300 sq miles and has no natural resources and in the 1960s was a poverty stricken country.
Now each citizen is a millionaire in equivalent !!!
malaysia is a huge country with many rich natural resources and was a better country in the 1960s economically !!
*Where did we go wrong* ??
Every malaysian knows
