Praying for peace, the sane approach to Israel-Hamas conflict

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 5, 2023: Video clips of assholes cursing Chinese and Indian schools for not supporting the Palestine cause are appearing in social media.

Whether an individual, group or organisation support Palestine or Israel is their personal choice.

There should be no compulsion and no one has the right to dictate that choice.

In the first place, how did the current Israel-Hamas (Palestine) conflict break out.

It was Hamas terrorists that intruded Israel, shot and killed more than 1,000 people, including non-Israelis, and taking hostages.

What right has the Hamas terrorists make the first strike and stir the hornet’s nest?

So, Hamas terrorists now have to pay the price for their folly, and civilians killed in the conflict are clearly collateral damage to Israel.

And Anwar Ibrahim’s Madani Unity Government (UG) and his Education Ministry has not taken any action against teachers who promoted the use of firearms and violence to schoolboys and girl under the guise of Palestine Solidarity Week.

No action against the culprits is akin to endorsement by the UG.

In the first place, it is inappropriate to involve schools and pupils in politics and international conflicts.

Law-abiding and sane citizens send their children to school for education so that they grow up to be knowledgeble and competent human capital to contribute to nation-building.

Certainly, not what the UG and ministry are condoning in certain schools.

However, it is acceptable to display solidarity appropriately if need be, but not having teachers and schoolboys and girls clad in Hamas terrorist-like fatigue and bearing “firearms”.

They say, a picture is worth a thousand words. So, look at the picture above projecting sanity - praying for peace.
