Even pension distribution is discriminated by race and religion?
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 11, 2024: Did you know that in Malaysia, the distribution of pension is also discriminatory by race and religion? (No News Is Bad News stand to be corrected by the authorities and we apologise for any error.)
Don’t all Malaysians pay income tax? Why then the discrimination.
After 67 years since Merdeka (Independence) 1957, what has the governments of Malaysia (elected every five years) done about getting rid of such uncalled for discriminations?
The racist Umno-led Barisan Nasional (BN), with its MCA and MIC lapdogs, had governed the country for about six decades? Did it do anything to rid the country of unfair policies and regulations?
Multiracial Malaysians, do think about this.
And last year, the Government paid out RM32 billion in pension payments. This is an increase from RM11 billion in 2010. The Government's pension liability is expected to increase to RM120 billion by 2040.
The Government’s pension liability is a significant portion of its operating expenditure. In 2024, the Government’s public pension liability was more than 10% of its projected operating expenditure.
The government has also made commitments to improve the welfare of civil servants, including:
> A RM2,000 bonus; and
> AN allocation of RM2.4 billion to build, maintain, and refurbish quarters for civil servants.
The question is: Are Muslim women taking advantage of the loopholes or weaknesses in the pension scheme and its discriminatory policies/regulations?
It is not uncommon for a 30-year-old Muslim woman to marry a 90-year-old man with a clear understanding of securing a pension.
This exposes the flaws in old government policies and the level of decay in the system.

A friend visited the pension office, and what the government pension officer revealed will shock you.
The friend asked the officer:
"How do you distribute the pension among the four wives of a retired Muslim employee after his death?"
The officer explained:
"We refer to the nomination details. The pension is distributed as per the percentage specified for each nominee. If no nomination exists, we divide it equally among all four wives, allocating 25% each.
Here’s the twist:
For Hindus, if a man has one wife and she passes away, the pension is stopped.
But in the case of Muslims, the pension continues until all four wives have passed away in succession.
Here’s how it works:
If no nomination exists, each of the four wives receives 25%.
When one wife passes away, the remaining three get 33.33% each.
When another wife passes, the remaining two get 50% each.
When the third wife passes, the fourth wife receives 100% of the pension until her death.
Now think about this:
The first wife is 60 years old.
The second wife is 50 years old.
The third wife is 40 years old.
The fourth wife is 30 years old.
If each lives until 70, collectively, the pensions would be drawn for 10 + 20 + 30 + 40 = 100 years. The youngest wife alone could receive a pension for 40 years.
In contrast, wives of individuals from other religions may receive pensions for only 10 years.
Muslim widows benefit significantly, and taxpayers bear the cost.

There is a dire need for legal reform.
When reforms like the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) are proposed, certain political parties oppose them to protect their vote banks.
Pay attention to who resists such changes, and never forget the interests of the Hindu community.
"Common Civil Code" is essential to ensure fairness for all, but many resist it to safeguard their political agendas.
