A coalition of political party leaders who support corruption and thieves.
Next general election: Reject totally those who support corruption and thieves
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 8, 2024: The Umno-led Barisan Nasional (BN) is shamelessly supporting Malaysia’s national thief, disgraced former prime minister Najib “1MDB” Razak.
Najib, who have shown no remorse after being convicted for stealing from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB)’s SRC, is currently facing 25 charges related to the Soverign Wealth Fund (SWF).
What type of politics are Umno and its lapdogs, MCA and MIC, playing? Don’t they have any principles or integrity, supporting a convicted kleptocrat who is serving his sentence in Kajang Prison?
Already, in the last general election (GE), BN were given a thrashing with Umno winning only 26 of the 222 parliamentary seats.
Come the next GE which must be held in 2027, multiracial Malaysians in the right mind must totally abandon such a useless political coalition that support corruption and thieves who steal from the national coffer or the rakyat (people).
The Anwar Ibrahim-led so-called Madani Unity Government (UG) is also equally implicated for not condemning or rejecting BN’s call for the kleptocrat’s freedom.
The UG’s pledge to fight corruption is a complete farce!
No News Is Bad News reproduces a news report on Umno president and deputy prime minister Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi reaffirming BN’s continuous fight for Najib’s freedom and a report on political analysts saying the continuous defence of Najib will cripple Umno:

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Razak has been on the agenda at every supreme council meeting and is never forgotten, said Barisan Nasional chairman and Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
“Bossku (Najib) has always been on the agenda in every Umno and Barisan supreme council meeting.
We have our hurdles to overcome, but we will not stop fighting for Bossku,” said the Deputy Prime Minister to about 5,000 Barisan component party delegates at the coalition's golden jubilee event on Saturday (Dec 7) at the World Trade Centre here.
“There are things we can share with everyone and some we cannot share here, but none of us in Barisan ever agreed to his imprisonment.
“I am sure that the time will come when Bossku will be released from prison,” said Ahmad Zahid.
Najib’s son, Datuk Mohd Nizar, who was seated with the crowd, said that he was touched by the support shown to his father by Barisan.
“I appreciate the solidarity shown for him (Najib). I hope he will get a fair trial, that is the most important thing. I am confident that he is in the right, and I hope he will be released sooner rather than later,” said Nizar.
The former prime minister and Barisan chairman Najib, 70, who is often referred to as “Bossku” by his followers, had been serving his sentence in Kajang Prison since Aug 23, 2022, after his conviction in the SRC International case.
The former Pekan MP also faces trials over the alleged RM2.28bil 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) graft case. - The Star
Continuing to defend Najib will cripple Umno, say analysts

Political analyst Syaza Shukri says the party’s biggest fault is its refusal to stop sheltering Najib.

PETALING JAYA: Umno’s bid to return to political dominance has been hamstrung by its insistence on defending former prime minister Najib Razak and for trying to “save” him, say political analysts.
Syaza Shukri of the International Islamic University Malaysia said the party’s biggest fault is its refusal to stop sheltering Najib.
“They should just acknowledge that this (case) has gone through the courts. Najib has been found guilty, and they should leave it to the judiciary,” she told FMT.
“Portraying Najib as innocent and trying to ‘save’ him is the problem,” she added.
Former Umno man Shahril Hamdan has previously been reported as saying that the party’s refusal to acknowledge its failures in dealing with the 1MDB fiasco has prevented it from “moving on from Najib”, leading to a “thorny” relationship with Pakatan Harapan (PH).
Federal Territories Barisan Nasional (BN) chief Johari Ghani also recently said that to return to political dominance, the coalition, which has Umno as its lynchpin, must be cured of four “ailments”.
He told attendees at the Federal Territories BN convention on Nov 24 that BN suffers from delusions, amnesia, inertia and arrogance.
Johari said some leaders and members of BN component parties were labouring under the delusion that the coalition’s past contributions were enough to convince Malaysians to back them.
He also said the coalition had forgotten its roots and core struggles, namely, to develop Malaysia and bring progress for the rakyat.
Political scientist Wong Chin Huat was more vehement than Syaza in his assessment of Umno’s failures.
He said the party cannot continue to attribute its losses in the last two general elections to being unfairly smeared by its opponents, or by claiming that the electorate had been manipulated by lies.
“To correct its delusion and amnesia, Umno must recognise the elephant in the room: Umno lost because of 1MDB,” he told FMT.
Wong said the scandal had caused Umno to lose middle-ground Malays who were unable to “swallow excessive corruption” and went to Perikatan Nasional and PH.
“As long as Umno refuses to admit this and continues to rally behind the Najib clan, it will never be able to win back the middle-ground Malay support,” he said.
Wong said Umno must cut ties with Najib or beg him to retire from politics.
