Definition of fitnah

Fitnah from a linguistic point of view

Al-Azhari said:

“The Arabic word fitnah includes meanings of testing and trial. The root is taken from the phrase fatantu al-fiddah wa’l-dhahab (I assayed (tested the quality of) the silver and gold), meaning I melted the metals to separate the bad from the good. Similarly, Allah says in the Quran (interpretation of the meaning): ‘(It will be) a Day when they will be tried [yuftanuna] (punished, i.e. burnt) over the Fire!’ [al-Dhariyat 51:13], meaning, burning them with fire.” (Tahdhib al-Lughah, 14/196).

The latest fitnah which police are investigating.

To Hadi and PAS leaders, lying is an essential part of their their religious political strategy to confuse and fool the rakyat (people).

With the six state elections expected in August, Malaysians can, therefore, expect more filth spewing from their mouths.

Such PAS leaders, spewing deceitful news and statements are a disgrace to Islam.

Elections will be held in Penang, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.

The elections are likely to be seen a referendum on the Anwar Ibrahim-led Unity Government (UG) comprising 19 political parties.

The backbone or foundation of the UG are Pakatan Harapan, Umno, Sarawak and Sabah parties.

The outcome of the elections is likely to determine the political lifeline of the UG and the 10th Pirme Minister, Anwar. And a vote for Perikatan Nasional (PN), comprising Bersatu and Gerakan, is a vote for PAS.

Should the UG perform badly in the elections, political stability will be undermined and Malaysia, saddled with a more than RM1.5 trillion national debt, is unlikely to progress socio-economically.

The long-term political and economic status of Malaysia are thus in the hands of Malaysians who go to the state polls with power (ballots) in their hands.
