KUCHING: Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud yesterday received a courtesy call from PKR president-elect Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at his residence in Demak Jaya here. A press statement said the purpose of Anwar’s visit was to inform Taib about the former’s two-day working visit to Sarawak and at the same time strengthen existing relationship. This was Anwar’s first visit to Sarawak after Pakatan Harapan formed the new federal government in May. Accompanying Anwar was Julau MP Larry Sng. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. So, wasn’t the picture of PKR president and de facto Pakatan Harapan (PH) leader Anwar Ibrahim with Sarawak Yang di-Pertua Negri Abdul Taib Mahmud worth more than that?

The silence of hardcore PH supporters and leaders is simply just deafening on the courtesy visit.

It sure reflects Anwar’s respect for the Pek Moh of Sarawak (White Hair of Sarawak). Bravo! New Malaysia it is!
