No choice for PD voters: It’s Anwar or back to BN-Umno+PAS rule!

Hasn’t he suffered enough for Malaysians and Malaysia under the cruel BN regime for 20 years? Isn’t it the time to give him the chance to lead Malaysians and Malaysia at Putrajaya?

No choice for PD voters: It’s Anwar or back to BN-Umno+PAS rule!

By right, PKR president-elect Anwar Ibrahim should win it hands down in the coming Port Dickson by-election and make his second comeback to Parliament.

And Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad (Dr M) has, yet again, reiterated to the efect: “Read my lips! Anwar’s my successor!”

For the voters in Port Dickson and Malaysians in general, if not Anwar, then who?

If Anwar fails in the Port Dickson Move, Kajang Move or whatever you want to label the by-election to be, it is likely to be disastrous for Malaysians and Malaysian politics.

If Anwar loses, then Malaysians can expect political turmoil and instability that may even give the Umno-led Barisan Nasional (BN)+PAS new regime to seize Putrajaya.

On that account, it is highly unlikely that the majority of Port Dickson voters will reject Anwar and enable the 60-year corrupt BN-Umno regime to make its return to Putrajaya (federal government).

To some Malaysians, they may wish to stick to the cliche, “You have to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea.”.

Or, others may say choose the lesser of two evils. Between the likes of Umno (disgraced former premier Najib Razak and Umno president Zahid Hamidi) and Anwar, who do you think will be the choice of Malaysians?

So, the current media and public debate on Port Dickson and who’s the more capable or rightful candidate to succeed Dr M, are all “noise” whipped up by certain quarter or quarters aimed at fulfilling their political agenda or personal interest.

Dr M is already 93 years old and he has gone through “political hell” pre-14th General Election (GE14) with PKR, Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Anwar’s morale backing from Sungai Buloh.

Do you doubt what Dr M says today and his fervent wish to do the right thing for the future of Malaysians?

They say Rome was not built in a day, and that is so true for Dr M who has to reform and rebuild Malaysia’s socio-economic foundation that was reduced to tatters by BN-Umno.

And, likewise, Anwar is also slated to step up for continuity and do the same when Dr M calls it a day.

So, Malaysians must think very, very carefully when making political decisions that can destroy or ensure the future of rakyat dan negara (people and country).

The Umno-led BN was given 60 years to manage Malaysia but what happened? Now, PH has been given the opportunity to do better for Malaysians and Malaysia.

But, to dismantle whatever wrong made by the BN is not that easy because of Malaysia’s multi-ethnicity and religious sensitivities.

It is only fair to give PH a reasonable time to reform Malaysia and implement changes. BN had 60 years to do shit! What do you think is a fair time frame to give to PH to achieve a New Malaysia?

This is The Star Online and Free Malaysia Today (FMT)’s report on Dr M’s response to Port Dickson:

PETALING JAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad says he has no opinion over Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's move to contest in the Port Dickson parliamentary seat.

The Prime Minister said the PKR-president elect rang him up from Hong Kong to inform him about contesting in the seat before the announcement was made.

“It is his right. I don’t interfere in that area. I told Anwar that normally, I don’t go on any campaigns for by-election, but I will endorse his candidacy,” Dr Mahathir said during a press conference here on Friday (Sept 14).

Asked if Anwar would be given any government position if he wins, Dr Mahathir said PKR secretary-general Datuk Saifudin Nasution Ismail made a statement recently that the party president-elect is not seeking any post.

“It must be Anwar. I’m not reneging my promise.

“The period of course is not very certain, but I’m conscious that I’m very old. In two years' time, I’ll be 95,” he quipped. - The Star Online

PETALING JAYA: Dr Mahathir Mohamad today refused to be dragged into the debate over whether it was right to vacate the Port Dickson federal seat to allow Anwar Ibrahim to contest there.

“I have no opinion on that,” he told reporters at the PPBM headquarters here today.

He said he was holding on to the decision to appoint Anwar to replace him as prime minister.

“We have agreed it will be Anwar. I am not breaking my promise. I am conscious, I am very old. In two years I will be 95.”

Mahathir said he was aware of the criticisms surrounding the decision by PKR’s Danyal Balagopal Abdullah to resign as Port Dickson MP.

“We take note of the reactions in the social media. We take note of the observations by the rakyat on the matter,” Mahathir said.

He also confirmed that Anwar had personally informed him of the decision to contest in Port Dickson.

“That is his right. I don’t have to interfere,” he added.

Other questions posed to Mahathir at the press conference today:

On giving Anwar a position in government if he wins in Port Dickson:

Saifuddin Nasution (PKR secretary-general) made a statement that when Anwar wins, he would not seek a position. He is not asking a position from the government. It must be with the consent of Anwar.

On him helping Anwar in the Port Dickson campaign:

Normally I don’t campaign during a by-election. I would endorse him in the by-election.

On his health:

So far I am ok lah. I can talk to you.

On PPBM:

The party will have a general assembly next September and we are in the midst of arranging the structure and setting up party branches and divisions.

On promises in PH manifesto:

Part of the promises in the PH manifesto caused problems and if we were to implememt them which were made when we thought we would lose, they need to be reviewed.

On sale of ‘Equanimity’ yacht:

You know any buyer? I will give you some commission.

On ringgit’s performance:

The ringgit strengthened today. All currencies are now depreciating like mad. Not only Malaysia, others depreciated faster than us. Argentina’s (currency) depreciated by 15%. Many other currencies are depreciating because of the trade war between US and China, and the performance of the economy.

Is the ringgit undervalued?

Yes it is undervalued. - FMT

Or, do Malaysians want to return to this type of Umno-bullying politics, and politics of race and religion to serve the divide-and-rule type of administration.
