Can/will KKB voters rise to help save multiracial Malaysia?

Can KKB voters rise to humiliate racial-religious bigots by teaching PH-DAP a lesson, and to save multiracial Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, April 27, 2024: There you have it! Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM) and an Independent have offered a third choice to challenge the mighty Pakatan Harapan (PH)-DAP and Perikatan Nasional (PN)-Bersatu in the May 11 Kuala Kubu Baharu (KKB) by-election.

PRM and the Independent are not only offering a third choice to Malaysians, especially to KKB voters, it is also an opportunity for them to send a strong message to politicians, PH, BN-Umno, the Taliban-like PAS and the racist PN that law-abiding-peace-loving Malaysians treasure national unity and harmony so that the country progresses in socio-economic development healthily.

Singapore’s Straits Times reported (above image) that the KKB by-election is a test of support for PH.

That is not necessary so. Though many are disappointed with PH’s performance in governance but they will likely still support PH in the next general election (perhaps for lack of choice) which is due in 2027.

However, they need to jolt PH-DAP to come to its senses, especially in the handling of racial and religious bigots, and corruption.

Can/will the KKB voters rise to save multiracial Malaysia from racial and religious bigots by using their ballots as protest votes?

In fact, the racist PN led by the unpatriotic Muhyiddin “I Am Malay First” Yassin may win by default if there are significant protest votes against PH.

That is fine, as long as there is a sizeable number of protest votes to send the message to the so-called Madani Unity Government (UG). The message is extremely more important for the future of Malaysia's well-being.

However, ideally, if PRM or the sole Independent win, that would be a gargantuan humiliating defeat for all the racial and religious bigots in PH-DAP, PN and Umno. That should wake up Anwar and PH to reform and change its style of governance to face the next general election.

Voters MUST CONSIDER that whether PH-DAP wins or loses, it makes no difference as the power-equation in the Selangor State Assembly will not be affected.

So, it is a golden opportunity for Malaysians and KKB voters to teach PH-DAP, Umno, PAS and PN a lesson by electing a third choice - either PRM or the Independent.

Of course, PRM has more political experience than the Independent.

Wong Chin Huat

Political analyst Wong Chin Huat was reported to have said that a PH-DAP defeat in the KKB by-election would force Malaysia’s 10th Prime Minister (PMX) Anwar Ibrahim and his coalition to return to the drawing board instead of riding on the notion that non-Malays and liberal Malaysians had no other option in politics.

Wong said the notion had also contributed to the Government’s inaction or slow response to ethno-religious controversies like the one involving KK Mart.

As expected one of Umno’s lapdogs in Barisan Nasional (BN), MIC, has started propagating “rubbish” just to please BN-Umno.

MIC president SA Vigneswaran said the KKB polls was not the right time to show anger against the Government.

“The votes cast must reflect that the Indian community still have faith in the Government,”  he added.

Do you agree with his skewered views?

And the other Umno lapdog, the sour grapes MCA is refraining from helping the so-called Madani Unity Government (UG) to campaign in the KKB by-election.

So, KKB voters, what will it be? Do you want to savour the taste of humiliating the racial and religious bigots in PH, BN-Umno, PAS and PN by dumping all of them for either PRM or the Independent?

Teach all of them a lesson and give them the boot to send a clear message that:

> RAKYAT (people) are their boss;

> LAW-ABIDING-PEACE-LOVING Malaysians treasure national unity and harmony;

> ENOUGH is enough of the use of race and religion for selfish political mileage, thus threatening national unity and harmony;

> ENOUGH is enough of allowing bigots to sabotage and ruin socio-economic efforts to heal a more than RM3 trillion (national debt + household debt) debt-ridden economy. This is causing socio-economic misery with rising costs of living;

> ENOUGH is enough of mediocre governance that pander to bigots and the corrupt (also kleptocrats), and selective persecution and prosecution of bigots like Umno youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh; and

> ENOUGH is enough of spineless, insincere and selfish politicians.

4-cornered fight in Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election

FMT Reporters-27 Apr 2024, 10:48 AM

Pang Sock Tao will defend the state seat for PH against PN’s Khairul Azhari Saut, PRM’s Hafizah Zainudin and an independent candidate.

Pang Sock Tao (PH), Khairul Azhari Saut (PN), Nyau Ke Xin (Independent) and Hafizah Zainudin (PRM) are vying for the Kuala Kubu Baharu state seat come polling day on May 11.

KUALA KUBU BAHARU: The Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election on May 11 will see a four-cornered fight among Pakatan Harapan (PH), Perikatan Nasional (PN), Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM) and an independent candidate.

PH is represented by DAP’s Pang Sock Tao while PN has fielded Hulu Selangor Bersatu acting chief Khairul Azhari Saut. They will be facing PRM’s Hafizah Zainudin and independent candidate Nyau Ke Xin.

Their candidacy was announced by Election Commission (EC) returning officer Yuhanas Auree Kamaruddin at the Hulu Selangor district multipurpose hall and sports complex at Kampung Tun Abdul Razak, in Kuala Kubu Baharu, after nominations closed at 10am.

Parti Orang Asli Malaysia (Asli), which had earlier said it would be taking part in the by-election, announced late last night that it was pulling out of the race due to “a technical issue”.

The seat fell vacant following the death of three-term DAP assemblyman Lee Kee Hiong on March 21 from cancer.

In the state election last August, Lee retained the seat for PH with a 4,119-vote majority over PN’s Henry Teoh, who is from Gerakan.

The constituency is a mixed seat with the 40,226 registered voters split almost evenly between Malay voters and non-Malay voters.

The EC has set May 11 as polling day, while early voting will be on May 7.
