This is 1MDB Najib Umno's guarantee of a split Opposition |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=_Aui1PXi1JM (This hard hitting speech by Muhyiddin, calling 1MDB Najib a thief, is for those who have yet to view it.)
In the days, weeks and months to come, 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) Prime Minister Najib Razak’s coterie of bloggers and ghost writers are expected to burn the midnight oil to drive a political wedge in the Opposition.
They are well paid by 1MDB Najib and the honeymoon is over. It is now a do-or-die battle for Najib and the bloggers and writers are expected to work doubly hard to deliver or they will not be paid any further.
Najib’s top blogger, Malaysia-Today’s RPK, has started the ball rolling with an article titled “The Third Force” aimed at pitting former premier of 22 years, Dr Mahathir Mohamad, and his newly founded Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) against Pakatan Harapan (comprising DAP, PKR and Amanah) leaders to ensure that the Opposition, especially the urban and rural Malays, remains split.
Former Finance Minister Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (fondly referred to as Ku Li and is still an Umno member) has also been thrown into the Mahathir plot to further confuse and drive the disunity wedge on the Opposition.
1MDB Najib’s game plan is to go into the next general election or GE14, whenever that maybe, with a severely split Opposition and win handsomely in three-or more cornered electoral battles with the Hadi “Umno-loving” Awang-led PAS inflicting the critical damage to Opposition Malay votes.
And Malaysians will be bombarded with many propaganda news in both the print and electronic media to ensure Malaysians remain confused and split, even among Pakatan leaders.
Najib is widely believed to be preparing for a snap GE14 but he will only go for it when he is absolutely sure the Opposition is severely disunited and unable to work out electoral pacts.
As it is, Najib’s strategy and game plan has the edge and a higher chance in realising its goals than the Opposition’s attempt (if any) to unite as an electoral force.
PAS is already a goner for Pakatan, and that is already a “guarantee” for 1MDB Najib’s Umno to split the Opposition Malay votes.
The other is the uncertain ability of the Mahathir-backed former deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin to attract traditional rural Umno voters and even urban and rural Malay voters who backed Pakatan.
When Najib is confident that Bersatu president Muhyiddin and his party can do more damage to Pakatan than Umno, that is the time the 1MDB Najib will call for GE14.
And, obviously, that will probably come sooner than later.
Najib would have “missed the boat”, so to speak, if he further delays GE14.
Give the Opposition no time to unite. Strike it when the iron is hot and the two by-elections (in Sungai Besar, Selangor, and Kuala Kangsar, Perak) is testimony of a weakened and split Opposition.
So, when is GE14. Latest in December 2016? That’s six months after the two by-elections - the minimum period generally required for the BN and Election Commission (EC) to prepare for a GE.
