In Taliban Malaysia, investors can be fined for using such posters to promote their products!!!
It's Taliban Malaysia for you today
The racial and religious cards that the ruling Umno-led Barisan Nasional (BN) has been playing to shore up electoral support after the 13th General Election (GE13) is slowly but surely tuning Malaysia into a Taliban state.
But, what is more shocking is that the non-Umno non-Muslim political parties from both sides of the political divide and their leaders are not doing anything concrete or serious, like taking the matter to court based on constitutional rights.
Yes, Malaysians have no right to dictate or tell citizens of different faiths what to do and what not to do.
Yes. We cry for freedom of religion but this also applies to non-Muslims. Non-Muslims have no right to tell Muslims how they want to practice Islam and adhere to their so called laws like Hudud (Islamic criminal law).
Then, there are those who claim it is a folly and wrong to say non-Muslims have no right to tell Muslims how they practice their religion. They claim there is no way Hudud will not affect Muslims.
In a way, they are almost right, meaning not entirely right. Almost right because that perception has been carved in stone because of poor enforcement and a lack of political will to administer justly without any bias to any religion.
If you want to blame the system, blame the politicians that you elect.
For example, you have the DAP Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng recently wasting his and the rakyat (people)’s time responding to Malacca Chief Minister Idris Haron claim that the United States (US) is planning to “kill""the Malays after doing the same with Iraqis in the past.
Lim’s ridiculous response was Malaysia declares war with the US if the Idris’ allegation is true.
Now, Lim is a lawyer. Can’t he find better and more sane serious issues like taking Taliban-like matters to court based on constitutional rights.
Can’t politicians from both sides of the political divide respect the Federal Constitution as the supreme law above all else?
This was what The Star reported on Aug 9, 2016:
"Shop fined for displaying 'indecent' posters
KOTA BARU: Another business operator was slapped with a summon for putting up posters that do not adhere to the Islamic dress code.
This time, it is a businesswoman who sells skincare products at Aeon Mall here.
She told China Press online that she was issued a RM150 summon from the Kota Baru Municipal Council (MPKB) on July 26 for posters that feature a woman who was not wearing a tudung.
“The enforcement officers just came in and gave me the summon without any warning,” she complained, adding that the posters were eventually removed.
On July 25, a watch retailer here was also fined for displaying two “sexy” posters, supplied by the brand manufacturers, in his shop, also located at Aeon Mall.
One poster featured Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai and another showed a female model, wearing a strapless dress, and her arms interlocked with a man.
MPKB president Zamri Ismail has defended the council’s move for issuing the summons.
He had earlier told Sin Chew Daily that outfits which did not abide by the Islamic dress code were deemed “indecent” and that the council did not allow the display of posters with sexy models at public areas.
According to the council’s terms of business permits, owners are not allowed to display sexy photographs at their shops."

Kota Baru pharmacy faces fine over poster of 'uncovered' model
KOTA BARU: Another controversy has emerged after a pharmacy here was fined for displaying a poster showing a female model who was not wearing a head scarf and covering her aurat.According to one of its employees, who declined to be named, Municipal Council enforcement officers came to the pharmacy at Aeon Mall on Jul 26 and issued a summons to the management for displaying the poster.
"I was told the manager has to pay RM150 for the offence," said the employee, adding that the poster was only put up recently.
Council president Zamri Ismail, when contacted, confirmed that a summons had been issued against the pharmacy and that the council was very serious in getting traders to adhere to strict codes concerning posters.
"I cannot understand why traders cannot comply with the conditions stipulated on their business and premise permits.
"We will continue to monitor the situation and will not compromise with those who flout these by-laws, " he said."
Put it simply, is the Kota Baru Municipal Council (MPKB) above the Federal Constitution? Do they have the authority to infringed on the rights of non-Muslims?
I am no lawyer, but people like Lim and other BN parties and their leaders, don’t you think it is time to take such religious fanatics and extremists to court and face the Federal Constitution?
What are you all waiting for? Too much work in court? What’s wrong with you all?
Any further delay in reversing and putting such matters right legally, will surely frighten away more new investors, if there is any left.
Perhaps, what is lacking in most countries is Russian president Putin’s firmness on religious fanatics, as depicted in the visual below:
