‘Americans want to kill Malays in Malaysia’

Tis' the reason Malaysians and Malaysia are suffering from socio-economic-political decay?
If a non-Malay questions the stupidity of the Malay community, then it becomes sensitive and racial emotions may be fanned.

It is for this reason that when a Malay, especially an educated one like Azmi Sharom, writes to question the stupidity of his race, it is worth reading for more insight into the mindset of the community, and Malaysians in general.

And that is the reason why Azmi’s article, published by mysinchew online news, is reproduced and appended in this old No News Is Bad News blogpost:

"The Malay mindset

It is very depressing that the Malay is seen as an ethnic group that can be swayed by such ridiculous thinking. It is more depressing to think that this may be correct.

The Malay vote is crucial in Malaysian politics. This fact cannot be denied. So, the question is how does the Malay mind work?

If we look at recent events, we can see an unpleasant picture. While the country is in the grip of a financial scandal of a potentially crippling magnitude the Malay heartland is being fed with ridiculous ideas.

A university lecturer actually argued that the American Department of Justice cannot be trusted because they are infidels. And the Chief Minister of Melaka chipped in by saying that the DOJ report is akin to the Americans attacking Malaysia similar to their attack on Iraq.

Suddenly an investigation into corruption by a government who are perfectly within their rights to do so on their own territory becomes something of a Holy War between the infidel and good Malaysian Muslims.

Just how stupid do these people think Malays are?

And if they are not making the lamest excuses to try to cover up this shameful incident, they are raising non-issues to distract. Pokemon Go becomes something worthy of a fatwa. A concert is deemed sinful. And the list goes on.

To make matters worse, we have a new party who are supposed to be saving the country from a corrupt government. This party is created to win over Malay votes from the ruling party. And they say that the only way to do this is to make sure that the party is open only to bumiputra.

Therefore, if we look at all these developments we can see that those in positions of influence think that the Malay voter can be convinced that there is no corruption in the country as long as those doing the investigations are not Muslim. They also think that the Malay voter is easily distracted by stupid issues. And finally they think that Malays are only able to look at politics through a racial lens.

It is very depressing that the Malay is seen as an ethnic group that can be swayed by such ridiculous thinking. It is more depressing to think that this may be correct.

‘Americans want to kill Malays in Malaysia’

Sad to say, many Malaysian politicians are prepared to say anything shameless, no matter how ridiculous and stupid they may sound, as long as it pleases their master/s to ensure their political relevance to remain in powerful positions.

malaysiakini online news portal reported Malacca Chief Minister Idris Haron as claiming the US Department of Justice’s (DOJ) court filings related to the 1MDB scandal is part of a political ploy to unseat the Malays.

He claimed the US authorities had not approached 1MDB, but out of the blue came its explosive allegations.

Idris questioned the DOJ’s credibility in doing so, citing the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003 and the subsequent US occupation of the state on grounds that then Iraqi president Saddam Hussein allegedly possessed weapons of mass destruction.

“We want to tell the Americans that this is Southeast Asia, this is Malaysia.

“Our country is our responsibility. What credibility does the Department of Justice have?

“What did they (the US) say on the unilateral attack on Iraq? (They claimed ) there are chemical weapons of mass destruction.

“Even after Saddam Hussein’s death, to this day not a single chemical weapon was found.

“You cheated the Iraqis, you killed the Iraqis, and now you want to kill the Malays in Malaysia.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we must rise!

“This is nothing less and nothing more than a political ploy to topple Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, because they know that Najib’s policies can uplift the Malays to be respected and reckoned with,” he said.

Really?

Some 10 countries are investigating alleged money laundering activities directly or indirectly linked to 1MDB but only Malaysia displays utter disinterest in probing who stole the billions of ringgit from the so-called national sovereign fund?

What sort of respect is there for Malaysians to uplift?

The DOJ’s forfeiture suits last month allege that about US$3 billion (RM12 billion) had been misappropriated from 1MDB.

It seeks the forfeiture of over US$1.5 billion (RM6 billion) in assets, which it claims are part of the proceeds of the alleged crime that had been laundered through the US financial system.

In response, the Attorney-General Mohd Apandi Ali had claimed there is no evidence of misappropriation from any investigation, but that a police investigation is still ongoing.

In Malaysia, ongoing can be for eternity.

Najib is also widely speculated to be the figure named “Malaysian Official 1” in the court documents, who supposedly is among those who had benefited from the misappropriation.

Najib however has consistently denied wrongdoing, while Apandi had previously exonerated him.

But malaysiakini in another report has quoted Barisan Nasional (BN) strategic communications director Abdul Rahman Dahlan as saying that there is no secret who is Malaysian Official 1 (MO1) mentioned DOJ civil lawsuits.

“Everyone who has read the court documents or knows about the issues would know who is the person being referred to. There is no mystery about MO1, only an idiot doesn’t know who that person was,” he said.

Abdul Rahman was asked to comment on the identity of MO1 as some alleged that the MO1, mentioned 36 times in DOJ’s court documents, was in fact Najib who is also BN chairman.

conference, adding those who are familiar with the issues and read the court documents would know who is MO1.

“The most important question is why they put Malaysian official 1 (in the court papers instead of directly naming one)?

“Malaysiakini didn’t ask, they only asked who is MO1. Why is that they didn’t name him but name MO1...?

“The reason why the person wasn’t named (Prime Minister) Najib (Abdul Razak) is because he is not involved or part of the investigation,” he explained.

DOJ only used this as a reference to a person as naming him would not be fair to him, he said.

“This is actually an indication that Najib is not among the people being investigated,” he stressed.

“They used the nickname because Najib is not part of the investigation and this is a good thing,” he added.

US federal prosecutors filed the civil lawsuits seeking to seize assets worth more than US$1 billion, allegedly stolen from 1MDB.

The DOJ named Najib’s stepson Riza Aziz, the founder of Red Granite Pictures; Malaysian financier Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low; Abu Dhabi government officials Khadem Abdulla Al-Qubaisi and Mohammed Ahmed Badawy Al-Husseiny.

Both Al Qubaisi and Al-Husseiny are former officials at a sovereign fund in Abu Dhabi that participated in deals with 1MDB.

The DOJ court papers stated that “Malaysian Official 1” received US$731 million (RM2.9 billion) in kickbacks, allegedly from 1MDB funds.

Najib has denied abusing public funds for personal gain, and blamed such allegations on those conspiring to topple him.
