Road accidents in Malaysia: One dead every two hours!
KUALA LUMPUR, March 22, 2025: Singapore’s Straits Times (ST) has reported that a death occurs every two hours in road accidents in Malaysia.
That’s an astonishing rate in fatal accidents in Malaysia?
Why is this happening?
Are the laws inadequate? Absolutely not.
It all boils down to ineffective law enforcement, the lack of it or worse, corruption - police (traffic) and JPJ (Road Transport Department officers).
Do they conduct regular operations to nab speedsters? Do they conduct regular operations to ban queue jumping? Do they conduct regular operations those who beat the red traffic lights, especially by motorcyclists?
Read the above ST report.
