All’s not well! 1MDB PM Najib bogged down by domestic and foreign pressures
The Sunday Star newspaper has published a speculative news report that 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) Prime Minister Najib Razak may change four mentris besar (MBs - Chief Ministers).
The mainstrem MCA-owned newspaper, quoting unnamed sources, speculated that the MBs of four states in the peninsula - Pahang, Terengganu, Kedah and Negri Sembilan - are to get new heads in Barisan Nasional (BN)’s preparations for the next general election.
Being owned by the MCA, a BN coalition party, surely the newspaper must know or must have some insider information to publish the news report.
And another BN coalition party, Gerakan, is also adding more headache to Najib and his Umno-led BN ruling coalition.
Gerakan president Mah Siew Keong was reported by The Star online today as saying his party will be filing an objection over the proposed redelineation exercise by the Election Commission (EC).
Mah said the move by the EC would cause problems and lessen the chances of the party to win seats in the upcoming general election.
OMG! Mah is admitting that the EC is gerrymandering, and it is gerrymandering to give Umno the edge in the 14th General Election (GE14).
Yes! Only Umno matters, to hell with all other minions like MCA, MIC and Gerakan! Why waste the Umno Malay votes on them!
Padan muka (Good Riddance) to all the Umno lackey parties in the BN coalition. Where to hide your face!
MCA, MIC and Gerakan, still don’t admit that you are all politically irrelevant to Umno and Malaysians?
And Malaysians can prepare for another round of distraction from the serious issues like the 1MDB-linked alleged global multi-billion-dollar/ringgit money laundering scandal by the Umno-friendly Hadi Awang-led Islamist PAS.
Hadi was quoted by The Star online today that he will re-table the Private Member’s Bill aimed at expanding the powers of the Syariah Court during next month’s sitting of Parliament.
Let’s wait and see where MCA, MIC and Gerakan stand in Parliament when the Hukum Hudud (Islamic Criminal Law)-related Bill is tabled by Hadi next month.
Here are the details of the news reports:

Speculation about new heads for state governments in Pahang, Terengganu, Kedah and Negeri Sembilan as Barisan Nasional prepares for next general election.
PETALING JAYA: The menteri besar of Pahang, Terengganu, Kedah and Negeri Sembilan may be replaced as Barisan Nasional (BN) prepares for the next general election, according to a news report.
The speculation about the changes come in the wake of Adnan Yaakob of Pahang announcing his wish to retire, health concerns over Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah of Kedah and Mohamad Hasan of Negeri Sembilan, and a power struggle in Terengganu between Ahmad Said and his successor Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman.
BN chairman and Umno president Najib Razak needed “new captains to spearhead the machinery in these states”, according to unnamed sources quoted by the Sunday Star newspaper.
Besides health issues, there was a concern about in-fighting among Umno factions in Negeri Sembilan.
Another power struggle, between the two Ahmads in Terengganu, had left the state “in danger of falling to PAS” according to the report.
The report said the changes may be necessary as the next general election might be a “do or die” effort for Najib and the BN.
Najib may present his plans to Umno delegates at the party’s assembly later this year."
Hadi Awang confirms will re-table Bill on Syariah amendments
BY RAHIMY RAHIM
KUALA LUMPUR: PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang confirmed that he will re-table the Private Member's Bill aimed at expanding the powers of the Syariah Court during next month’s sitting of Parliament.
"Yes, yes," he told reporters after a courtesy visit to the Federation of Hokkien Associtions at Wisma Fujian, on Sunday.
The Bill seeks to empower the courts to enforce punishments ― except for the death penalty ― as provided for under Syariah laws for Islamic offences listed under state jurisdiction in the Federal Constitution.
In his speech, Hadi, who is Marang MP, reiterated that non-Muslims should not fear the Bill as the Syariah court has no legal jurisdiction on them.
“The Muslims have their own laws, while the non-Muslims have their own respective laws. We need to respect that.
“If the non-Muslims choose to be tried under Islamic laws, we can accept it.
“However, our federal constitution does not allow that," he said.
Hadi said there was no assurance that the Bill would be supported by Muslim parliamentarians from Umno, DAP or PKR.
"We are only discussing on matters pertaining to Muslims and it has nothing to do with others.
"It is our responsibility to protect our fellow Muslims and at the same time ensure fairness to other races," he said."

Gerakan: No to redelineation exercise
BY MOHD FARHAAN SHAH
JOHOR BARU: Gerakan will file an objection over the proposed redelineation exercise by the Election Commission (EC).
Party president Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong (pic) said the move by the EC would cause problems and lessen the chances of the party to win seats in the upcoming general election.
"We will be competing in 45 parliamentary and state seats in the 14th General Election, however, the party does not favour the redelineation carried out by the EC.
"I have instructed all divisions to compile reports on the redelineation before sending it to the EC in a week's time," he added.
Mah said this to pressmen after launching the meeting of Johor Gerakan delegates at Taman Molek here on Sunday.
He said the party had identified several problematic seats if EC carried out the redelineation exercise.
"The EC has given a month for each political party to forward their complaints to them.
"We will give the official complaint as soon as possible. We hope to give EC adequate time to find a proper solution,” he said."
