Political heat rising fast in 1MDB Malaysia, especially in Sabah

Political heat rising fast in 1MDB Malaysia, especially in Sabah
The political heat is fast rising in 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) Malaysia.

Those who have yet to read this No News Is Bad News blog posting, read it for context: http://victorlim2016.blogspot.my/2016/10/slowly-but-surely-more-and-more-unfolds.html.

Political bush fires are being ignited everywhere and there are endless political developments and realignments in the run-up to the next general election (GE) or a snap GE14.

1MDB Prime Minister Najib Razak is widely expected take advantage of the critically fractured Opposition and call for a snap GE14 to consolidate his premiership.

However, as the days and weeks pass, Najib’s Umno and Umno-led Barisan Nasiona (BN) appear to be besieged with growing damaging political issues.

No News Is Bad News is now skeptical that Najib has the courage to call for a snap GE14 to seek a fresh mandate from the rakyat (people).

After all, Najib can just remain stubborn and adamant, continue to rule until his premiership’s term ends in March 2018.

However, Najib and BN’s dilemma is, the longer he delays GE14, the worse it will get as the Opposition leaders and parties step up efforts to unite on a common platform.

Here’s two news stories to whet the reading appetite of No News Is Bad News visitors and readers:

"DR M DROPS AWESOME BOMBSHELL: NAJIB & UMNO WILL LOSE CONTROL OF JOHOR, PERAK & T’GANU EVEN BEFORE GE14 IS HELD

Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said a slight nudge could bring down three BN state governments – Perak, Terengganu and Johor – even before the next general election.

Mahathir said this in reference to Jorak state assemblyperson Shahruddin Salleh who defected from Umno to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) earlier this week.

“When something starts happening, it will gather speed. Others will follow suit.

“In Perak, it only takes two state assemblypersons (to defect); in Terengganu, it also needs two state assemblypersons.

“If they cross over, the governments fall. We can rule in these states – along with Selangor and Penang – without waiting for the 14th general election,” he told a ceramah in Muar last night.

BN will lose its simple majority in both the 32-member Terengganu state assembly and 59-member Perak state assembly if two of its representatives defect to the opposition.

In Johor, Mahathir said if another 10 Umno state assemblypersons followed Shahruddin’s example, the BN government in Umno’s traditional fortress would fall.

“We would become the government in Johor,” said Mahathir.

Shahruddin’s defection to Bersatu to serve as its secretary-general had caused BN to lose its two-thirds majority in the state.

BN still retains 37 out of 56 seats in the Johor state assembly.

“So ladies and gentleman, we only need to work a little harder. Do not be afraid to become Bersatu members,” added Mahathir.

However, Mahathir acknowledged that the task was difficult, claiming that most MPs and state assemblyperson had been “bought” to support the current government.

Nonetheless, he emphasised the need for Bersatu to rapidly grow its membership base.

“If we become a big party, only then others will respect us,” he said.

He also emphasised the need for Bersatu to work together with opposition parties if it wants to form the government.

Mahathir even used PKR-led Selangor as an example of what a Bersatu government and its allies will look like.

“We have seen how the parties of our (former) opponents can manage a state.

“Last time, I thought they know nothing about administration but to the contrary, when they became the government, they managed to do a lot of good thing, particularly for the poor,” he said.

Azmin was at the ceramah when Mahathir delivered a speech. The ceramah was broadcast live on Facebook.

"MAJOR SABAH DEFECTION BREWING? NAJIB RUNNING SCARED – ISSUES WARNING TO ‘LOOSE CANON’ ANIFAH & UMNO KIMANIS

Politics | October 8, 2016 by | 0 Comments

The Sabah Caper….continuing saga….Anifah Aman and Umno Kimanis List of Jawatankuasa.

UMNO Kimanis is under Anifah Aman, our foreign minister and the brother of the CM of Sabah.

So this arrest is a warning to Sabah warlords to keep in line bcos Putrajaya must’ve smelled a defection is brewing and imminent. Hence, the reason why all the cash was kept in the office to facilitate disbursement on their political activities. Otherwise, it is ridiculous to keep so much cash in the office. If you looked at the jewelries and handbags seized, it did not commensurate with the amount of money they had bcos those handbags were not as expensive as those collected by Hippo

Anifah is a loose cannon and a recalcitrant and didn’t want the cabinet post offered to him earlier until much coaxing by his bro the CM.

He once blasted out at the reporter by saying he was NOT the babysitter for Riza Aziz when he was asked by Najib to take care of Riza departure from NY. He also jived at Riza by saying he didn’t have a private jet to fly back home…..

Announcement by Anifah Aman (Foreign Minister).

[10/7, 1:34 PM] Datuk Anifah Aman: Good afternoon to all of you.
I haven’t got the time to follow on what have been written in other apps except friends sending some to me. That Director had never been treasurer in my division. As Foreign Minister there is nothing I can offer to anyone. I don’t control the funds for the water dept. It is best to know where the funds coming from n who has the power to approve them.
So my fellow Sabahans I can proudly say to you that not only I am not involved but I did not know these funds or projects exist.

May be I can seek some of you my fellow friends to take actions to people who try to defame me cos I am known to most FM in this planet n I don’t want some of them to think that the FM of Malaysia is corrupt n more importantly to clear my name.
