1MDB PM Najib’s TN50 is just crap!

1MDB PM Najib’s TN50 is just crap!

Now, let’s use simple logic and common sense to rubbish 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) Prime Minister Najib Razak’s National Transformation Programme 2050 (TN50).

When a national development programme is launched, isn’t it logical and common sense to see to its achievement and success?

Vision 2020 was launched by then Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad (Dr M) in 1990 with the aim of achieving developed nation status for Malaysia.

That was 26 years ago! Dr M had the vision but the Umno-led Barisan Nasional (BN) just didn’t have the political will and what it takes to achieve it.

Then, suddenly, Najib announces TN50 when tabling his Budget 2017 in Parliament on Oct 21, 2016.

Now, Malaysians do not have any doubt that the incompetent Umno-led BN has failed and clearly is unable to achieve Vision 2020.

Don’t you think that it is only logical and common sense that the federal government should just continue trying to achieve Vision 2020, albeit belated, instead of throwing away what’s in motion since 1990?

Isn’t TN50 just crap? You don’t just pretend Vision 2020 did not exist and come up with new TN50 promises and expect Malaysians to jump and shout hooray!

Only idiots will do that!

"Nurul Izzah defends Dr M’s Vision 2020

She said while the Opposition had in the past criticised Mahathir's autocratic regime , they never hated him on a personal level.

DEWAN RAKYAT

KUALA LUMPUR: Despite past disagreements between the Opposition and former Premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad, they know at least how to appreciate his initiatives that are good for the country’s future.

PKR Vice-President Nurul Izzah Anwar said this in objecting to Prime Minister Najib Razak’s plan to replace Mahathir’s Vision 2020 with the National Transformation Programme 2050 (TN50).

She said while the Opposition had in the past criticised Mahathir’s autocratic regime, they never hated him on a personal level.

That was why the Opposition had never touched on the 91-year-old’s vision for Malaysia to achieve developed nation status by 2020.

“We may not agree with a lot of things Mahathir did. There was a lot of cruelty.

“But when it came to the vision which outlined our shared future, we did not attack it,” said Nurul Izzah (PKR-Lembah Pantai) while debating the Budget 2017 at the Dewan Rakyat today.

“I don’t understand how Pekan (Najib) can just negate a vision that has been in place for so long.”

She was referring to the federal budget for 2017 tabled in Parliament by Najib last Friday. Najib had announced the NT50 which negated Mahathir’s brainchild, the Vision 2020.

Nurul Izzah also requested for the government to accept its weaknesses and embrace policies that are good for the welfare of the public.

She then called for joint cooperation in efforts to come up with reforms as she did not want to see the country taking on another transformation programme.

“This is especially when existing programmes have yet to achieve their objectives. This is our money, so please accept good policies.

“Our responsibility as MPs is to execute and approve programmes that are good for the future instead of the ones meant to win elections.”

Ending her speech by rejecting the 2017 Budget, Nurul Izzah said she did, however, agree with some proposals, such as the allocations for taxi drivers. - FMT
